He then formed the band Future Primitive which eventually was changed to the name Bush in 1994 and released the promo Sixteen Stone. Gavin has been the lead singer/songwriter for the British post-grunge rock band Bush since its inception. Their first album, Sixteen Stone (1994), was a huge commercial success. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of extensive, non-stop touring. Bush’s albums include Sixteen Stone, Razorblade Suitcase (recorded by Steve Albini), Deconstructed, The Science of Things, and Golden State, all albums had much success in terms of albums sales, which led Bush to be one of the best selling rock groups to come out of the nineties. On June 21, 2010, it was announced that Bush would be returning and released their new album, The Sea of Memories on September 13, 2011.

The Brothers Reed
“It’s hard to beat the durability and playability of Clayton guitar picks. With how often we play I really need a reliable pick to get me through the entire show without too much wear which is why I play the heavier gauge Clayton .88mm. May the Clayton legacy reign supreme!” -Phil
“Feel and durability are the two qualities I look for in guitar picks which is why I use the Clayton .88mm guitar picks because they don’t feel bulky in my hands but still hold up throughout multiple shows rather than disintegrating mid strum.” -Aaron
The Reed brothers have finally united to create music together after twelve years of being 3000 miles apart. Phil Reed moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2013 and joined forces with Aaron Reed in a project dubbed “Buckle Rash”. Playing around with their not so high-energy solo creations they developed something entirely different on the side. Musical tastes for both have changed over the years and evolved into a medley of folk/bluegrass/pop/country and so on… Focusing on tight harmonies and pretty riffs The Brothers Reed want to bring you a unique listening experience that never sits on one musical spectrum for too long. Whether you’re into blues, rock, folk, or soft roots country, The Brothers Reed are sure to deliver nerve hitting tunes in a most simple format.
“The Brothers Reed — Aaron Reed and Philip Reed — have received positive responses from audiences since the two members of local band Buckle Rash started their side project a few months ago.”
-Laurie Heuston – The Mail Tribune
“It’s true we’re not very deep into the new year yet, but the bottom line is that Sick As Folk is easily 2015’s best local album to date, and The Brothers Reed have set a pretty high bar for other local artists hitting the studio this year.”
-Josh Gross – The Rogue Valley Messenger

Page Hamilton of Helmet
Page Hamilton began his musical career in the early 1980’s studying jazz guitar in New York City. During this time he joined Band of Susans for their Love Agenda album and then started his band Helmet. They recorded four albums: Strap it On, Meantime, Betty and Aftertaste. Their last three albums reached the Billboard top 100. Page also contributed guitar composition credits to the soundtrack for the crime drama Heat. After Helmet, he started Gandhi, toured with Davie Bowie and explored a variety of musical styles. In 2003 Hamilton and Charlie Clouser recorded the song “Throwing Punches” for the movie soundtrack, Underworld, which was later released on Helmet’s comeback album Size Matters in 2004. In 2006 Helmet, with further lineup changes, released their second post-reunion album, Monochrome. Their latest album, Seeing Eye Dog, was released on September 7, 2010.

Bret Michaels
As a rock star, reality star, spokesperson, businessman, and philanthropist, Bret Michaels does more jobs in a single day than most people do in an entire lifetime. Depending on the hour of the day he’s a cultural icon, a rock god, an entrepreneur, a TV star, a father, the face of the American Diabetes Association, a supercross enthusiast, solo artist, Poison frontman, and a generous donor to a myriad of charitable causes.
Michaels first rose to fame as the frontman of Poison. As one of rock’s most iconic and enduring bands, Poison defined the fast, gritty, and glamorous rock ‘n’ roll scene. Since the band’s beginning, Poison has achieved massive success- releasing eight studio albums, four live albums, and selling over 30 million records worldwide and 16.5 million records in the U.S. alone.
Bret Michaels’ solo career has been equally successful: his most recent solo album, “Custom Built,” released in July of 2010, topped the charts, reaching #1 on Billboard’s Hard Rock list. His current solo tour, “Get Your Rock On” is selling out arenas across the country and his forthcoming solo album of the same name will be released this summer.
Michaels has achieved stunning success in the realm of reality TV as well. His “Rock of Love” television series is one of the most successful in VH1’s history. VH1 and Bret Michaels teamed up again for his family-oriented 2010 docu-series “Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.” He went head to head with some of the brightest minds in business on Donald Trump’s NBC hit, “Celebrity Apprentice” and went on to “Trump” the competition with his Trop-A-Rocka Snapple drink.
Philanthropy remains an important facet of Michaels’ career. A lifelong diabetic, he partnered with the American Diabetes Association in 2010, acting as a spokesperson and sponsor. Beyond his role as spokesperson Michaels has gone on to help Ford raise an additional $400,000 for diabetes research at the Barrett-Jackson auto auction this past February as well as donating numerous items for auction for Diabetes related events.
Michaels’ charitable outreach extends far beyond diabetes, however. Rocking out and giving back go hand in hand for Michaels, who supports a diverse array of charities and causes. In March 2011, he performed at Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night in support of the Muhammad Ali Foundation, which gives to those suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Michaels was so touched by the event and the cause that he donated $20,000 of his own money to the Muhammad Ali Foundation to help heal those afflicted by Parkinson’s. Michaels took on the role of fundraiser as well, raising more than $200,000 for the Barrow Brain Tumor Foundation, with a star-studded dinner in his own home. He is also a supporter of the Camelot Therapeutic ranch and sponsors a horse with his family. The ranch provides services at no charge to adults and children with disabilities.
Michaels continues to stretch himself and challenge himself to take on new projects in music, business, and beyond. He recently partnered with legendary guitar company, Dean Guitars, to design his first ever signature Bret Michaels series. Michaels calls Dean Guitars “the only guitars that can keep up with me, holding up tour after tour.” He is also actively involved in the world of extreme sports. He recently created (and awarded on May 7, 2011) the first annual Bret Michaels Rock Hard, Ride Hard Award for supercross- a cash prize for the toughest and most tenacious supercross rider of the season.
Michaels will be capping of his year on a high note with November 2011’s “Bret Michaels Rock Your World Super Cruise.” Fans will be able to rock out and party hard right along with Michaels on the four day concert cruise extravaganza and it is sure to be an event to remember. And with his “Get Your Rock On” solo tour underway, the Poison 25th Anniversary Tour and Motley Crue/ Poison Summer Tour launching this May, Michaels will be rocking right through 2011.
Bret Michaels may have been in spotlight for decades, but he is certainly showing no signs of slowing down.

Brantley Gilbert
Stop and listen to any of Brantley Gilbert’s lyrics and you know a little about him. Listen to his albums and you will feel like family.
Brantley Gilbert was born and raised in the small town of Jefferson, Georgia, just outside of Athens city limits. It is that upbringing and small town influence that Gilbert credits toward allowing him to cultivate his unique sound. Gilbert’s taste in music always swayed toward a southern country rock feel, but his true-to-life testimony of heartache, trials, triumph, and success found a home in country music.
Gilbert’s career began on the stage: Night after night, he played acoustic sets at various venues in his hometown and slowly began to notice familiar faces in the crowds. Gilbert soon realized that his acoustic shows — however intimate — didn’t satisfy his audience’s thirst for his rock-infused country music. “We went from these acoustic shows to a bona fide Country-Rock-Soul show that is wide open,” says Gilbert. “Even when we play a ballad, it’s high energy.”

Colin Hay of Men at Work
While Colin Hay’s voice and visage are familiar to millions as front-man, songwriter, and vocalist of pop sensation Men at Work (“Down Under”, “Overkill”, “Who Can it Be Now?”), the past ten years have found him re-introducing himself to a new generation of fans. The frequent use of his music in TV and film—including hit shows such as Scrubs (on which he has made several cameo appearances) and Army Wives, the hit sound track to the film Garden State and the recently released Morning Glory—has proven the timeless appeal of his songs: quizzical, curious, cynical yet open-hearted. GATHERING MERCURY is a portrait of Colin Hay the performer, songwriter, and recording artist and—perhaps most importantly—the man behind the persona. The lyrics reveal the emotional peaks and valleys of the past year during which time Hay lost his father, but Hay stands the test of a true artist and demonstrates his ability to marry immediacy and depth without being maudlin or sacrificing the pop accessibility for which he is known.

Adrian Caliman
Adrian Caliman was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela and began his bass playing career as a teenager in 1991. Being raised listening mostly to British music while living in Manchester, England during his childhood with influences like The Beatles, Yes, Genesis, Queen, Marillion. He started writing meaningful and emotional songs at an early age while he was still at school, making his first recording session with the band “Signos” in 1992. Since then lots of bands have come and gone throughout the 90´s but never stopped performing. In 1998 formed a Beatle tribute band called “Beatlemania”, where he began performing as Paul McCartney from small gigs to big venues, concert halls, and theatres in different cities of Venezuela. After almost 20 years, a few performance highlights with Beatlemania include opening for Venezuelan recognized musicians. Most recently, in October 2019 Adrian joined a musical group based in Houston, TX “Segunda Nave”. In 2021 they released on YouTube and Spotify “Baila”, “Oscilador de Amor”, and “Sol Azul”. I made the arrangements and produced the songs. Currently, the band is making an album which probably will be released by the end of the year. However, in the meantime they have been uploading more songs on their platforms.

Anger Within
ANGER WITHIN
Wulf Morris – Vocals/Guitar
Bob Vine – Drums
Rich Montelongo – Bass/Backup Vocals
Patrick Foote – Lead Guitar
ANGER WITHIN, (based in Atlanta GA, USA) fuses metal, hardcore punk, and militant, death-like vocals to create a brutal, non-compromising form of heavy thrash, guaranteed to excite open-minded audiences everywhere. Ignited both by a passion for thrash, and an anger at injustice, ANGER WITHIN introduced itself onto the scene in the ’90’s, and was founded by members Wulf, (Vocals/Guitar,) Oz, (Guitar,) and John, (Bass.) Establishing various rhythm sections throughout the next couple of years, the band headed to Frozen Sound Studios and recorded three demo tapes, produced by Kim Monday, that laid the ground work, for intense, dynamic innovations to come.
ANGER WITHIN broke into the “underground” tape trading scene with these demos. Each new tape emphasized a heavier sound and aggressively focused on themes few death metal bands dare to touch – world oppression, gang violence, environmental distress, loss of friendship – along with brutally outspoken lyrics challenging man’s inhumanity to man. Over the years, many people have described their sound as thought provoking, heavy, straight to the point…and ultimately, original metal/hardcore music, with political and socially concerned lyrics.
The live experience of ANGER WITHIN, has been compared to the energy of a SEPULTURA, NAPALM DEATH, or early-METALLICA show. The band has played at quite a few festivals & venues, in several states. Cities include, Pittsburgh PA, Uniontown PA, Charlottesville VA, Washington D.C., Martins Ferry OH, Fairmont WV, Grafton WV, Bridgeport WV, Clarksburg WV, Parkersburg WV, Huntington WV, Wheeling WV, Clemson SC, and of course their hometown of Atlanta GA. The band has also performed with national touring acts such as, EXCRUCIATING PAIN, KARMA TO BURN, TWO MAN ADVANTAGE, BYZANTINE, THY WILL BE DONE, ORIGIN, SWORN ENEMY, DYING FETUS, KINGDOM OF SORROW, SOILENT GREEN, MADBALL, PRIMER 55, D.R.I., MALEVOLENT CREATION, & THE VANS WARPED TOUR, (ATLANTA,) just to name a few! THIS JUST IN: THE BAND WILL BE PLAYING THE ATLANTA STOP OF THE VAN’S WAPRED TOUR 2012!
With the three cassette demos and two full length CDs, (both produced by Josh Swiger and recorded at Blues Alley Studios,) under their belts…the band has received mail, and support from all over the world such as, Russia, England, Japan, France, Mexico, and of course the United States. The band has played or been featured on Brutal Existence Radio, WCLG, U92, and has even been on the airwaves in France.
2012, brings a new era, a new chapter for the band! The band plans to reinvent itself, into a better, heavier, uncompromising, steamrolling unit! Wulf states: “Anger Within has been overlooked & underrated for way too long. I’m sick of seeing all these bands, who claim to be “metal,” or “hardcore,” but yet, they have no heaviness, no heart, & no soul to their music! I take metal & hardcore, very seriously…it’s more than just a hobby to me…it’s a lifestyle! With two killer 4 song E.P.’s finally recorded, (“26” by Brian Neely @ Ultragod Studios, & “Fiction To Reality by Ronnie Winstead @ Virtual Adrenaline Studios,) both being released by New Zealand based company, Satanica Records…Anger Within’s fight for world domination, rages on! ANGER WITHIN – THRASH ‘TIL DEATH!

They’re currently writing and recording their second CD for a summer release.

Byron Nemeth
Byron has just finished a brand new instrumental song entitled “Engines Of Thunder”. Stylistically it’s a “tip-of-the-hat” to the early Satriani & Hendrix vibe when there was strong emphasis on composition and lyrical soloing with catchy hooks and unique twists in the guitar playing.
“Engines Of Thunder” was recorded in Apple Logic Pro X with the Universal Audio Apollo Twin X QUAD using only the UA Marshall JMP 2203 and Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555 plug-in’s for an amazing emulation of the legendary Marshall sound.
These plug-in’s are like recording with Vintage Gear because they deliver dead-on tones of the great Marshall Amps that ushered in a new era of rock dominance in the 80’s.
During Mixing and Mastering the Neve 1084 Preamp & EQ and Sonnox Oxford Limiter v2 delivered the final punch and sleek finish to “Engines Of Thunder”.
Guitar of choice is a hot rodded Jackson USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas Stratocaster with a EVH D-Tuna System set up by B & D Guitar Repair and run thru a Morley DJ Ashba Skeleton Wah Pedal for that classic Wah-Wah sound.
“Engines Of Thunder” is now LIVE on all digital platforms.

Chugger
We are Chugger.
Inspired by the decadence of mankind and its aggressive, violent and brutal nature.
We do not fear what lies beneath. Our music has grown a name of its own – locomotive metal.
The initial seed to Chugger started as a brainchild of Robert Bjärmyr in Gothenburg, Sweden, early 2006. Due to various other projects, this urge to bring out the darkest unfiltered feelings onto the metal scene grew in the dark and was delayed until late 2012 – but what a beast it has become.
The music can be described as thrash metal but with a heavier, raw and mutated groove to it and a purpose to act as a vessel for people to unleash their aggravation and anxiety of modern society. In this so called perfect world where pressure is increasingly building up the timing for Chugger could not have been better.
Chugger is a no-nonsense metal machine, fueled by anger and hate.

Inheriting her talents, Dave began playing guitar at age eight, and went on to study music composition and theory at Cleveland’s Modern Music School under the tutelage of highly acclaimed composer, arranger (Stan Kenton), and educator, Phil Rizzo. By age 16, Baker was officially a professional musician: going to school during the day and playing paid gigs in bars and clubs by night. His reputation soon earned him two Berklee College of Music scholarships, where he studied under jazz great Garrison Fuel, as well as Larry Bione, Bruce Saunders and Bruce Bartlett. He also became an honors graduate of Cleveland State University, having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing.
Baker further distinguished himself in the professional music community when he composed and produced commercial music for the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, St. Louis Cardinals, WKYC-TV, Sports Time Ohio, KSDK (St. Louis), KPNX-TV (Phoenix) and Clear Channel Communications. He could also be heard playing guitar on many commercial jingles for McDonald’s, Mr. Hero, Pearl Vision, Sterling Jewelers, Matco Tools, Ohio Lottery and Cleveland State University. His work in Cleveland culminated in 2010 with an Emmy® nomination for musical composition and arrangement.
Dave relocated to Nashville shortly thereafter, where his broad range of experience and incredible talents have served him well as a freelance guitar slinger. As Baker’s playing had been described by Guitar Player Magazine as “non-stop guitar bliss,” he quickly built his reputation in Music City based upon his versatility and professionalism.
He has played guitar alongside such notable country artists as The Line, Luke Bryan, Thompson Square, Josh Thompson, Ashley Gearing, Darryl Worley, Justin Moore, Laura Bell Bundy, Randy Houser, Craig Campbell, Rodney Adkins, Brett Eldridge, Kip Moore, The McClymonts, Eric Paslay and, since early 2012, with Black River Entertainment recording star, Kellie Pickler. Dave is currently a standing member of her band in addition to pursuing his other music projects.
Over the course of his career Baker has performed at the White House, the Grand Ole Opry and at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, plus toured the US, Australia, China, Switzerland, Germany, and Afghanistan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain (the Middle East twice for the USO).
Television viewers have also seen him in action on Ellen, Craig Ferguson, Dancing with the Stars, The View and Good Morning America, as well as televised Opry performances on the GAC network.
In 2014 Dave recorded and self-released his debut CD, 71 South, an eclectic album that brings the listener a collection of diverse instrumentals that encompass musical cleverness, humor and virtuosity while humbly reflecting Baker’s character.
71 South’s ten tracks underscore his variety in musical styles. From the “tongue-in-cheek” neo-classical opener, “Guitar Center Saturday” to the Eastern European tinged “The Brothel,” Baker explores a wide array of musical genres including his Latin influenced “Esteban,” Ennio Morricone-inspired “Spaghetti Western,” and the title track “71 South,” which pays tribute to a jazzier, bop affected characterization.
Baker both produced the CD and played electric and acoustic guitars, mandolin, Jew’s harp and rape whistle. The album’s musicians include drummer Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), bassist Vail Johnson (Keb’ Mo’) and multi-instrumentalist/producer John Painter (Ben Folds/Sevendust), among others. 71 South is available for purchase on iTunes and CD Baby.

Dean Johanesen
Originally from New York, accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist Dean Johanesen has made his home in many parts of the US including, Indiana, Nevada, Georgia and now residing in Florida.
Johanesen’s mother delivered motor homes when he was young and the family traveled around listening to many different artists and kinds of music. Led Zeppelin to Simon and Garfunkel, classic country to musical soundtracks provided the soundtrack to his youth and his diversity of influences had an effect on Johanesen’s interests musically as well as giving him a feel for the road.
After relocating to Florida following a stint of living and performing in Atlanta, Johanesen fronted The Human Condition, a well-regarded acoustic-based rock group that touched on elements of country, Americana, and singer-songwriter influences. The group’s final line up incorporated elements musically that had the band taking part in “jamband” based festivals combining Johanesen’s songwriting instincts with elements of the band’s improvisational strengths.
In 2013, Johanesen released his first solo record with intentions of getting back to the importance of the storyteller songwriting format while a recent passion for gypsy jazz music in the vein of Django Reinhardt has put Johanesen on a musical path with a focus on new stories of old times. Non fictional characters from the ‘20s and ‘30s, circus performers, the side show, Prohibition, the war of currents all placed in a backdrop of gypsy swing.

Ian Litovich
Ian Michael Litovich (Born on December 11th 1990). From San Juan Puerto, Rico. Having been influenced by his father to consider playing an instrument, Ian began to explore his interest at a very young age. Enrique Litovich, also an accomplished musician, had raised Ian an environment filled with guitars, recording equipment, and passion for music. But it was upon hearing The Beatles’ ”Abbey Road” at 12 that Ian’s perception of music began to change. It wasn’t long before Ian pestered his father into teaching him his first guitar chords.
Ian supplemented his father’s lessons by listening to music, reading books and observing other performers. After practicing for one year Ian’s curiosity spread to the bass guitar. Heavily-influenced by Paul McCartney’s melodic bass playing, Ian taught himself to master it. Next he taught himself to play piano, applying the same fervor he’d used to learn guitar. His enthusiasm soon spread to learning the recording process. Taught by his father to use a standard cassette tape recorder, Ian quickly graduated to record on reel-to-reel tapes in a small studio that he’d built in his own room.
Ian got his first taste of playing live when he performed for his high school at the age of 15. People started to recognize his talent and soon he was invited to perform at almost every school activity.
Ian’s musical journey continued when he received a drum set for his 16th birthday. Ian taught himself to play the drums with the same curiosity and drive he’d approached everything else musical. Once he mastered the drums, he set out to conquer the last piece of the musical puzzle: vocals. Being the most difficult thing to master, he began to record himself singing (and playing) multi-track covers, analyzing his own performance and looking for ways to improve. It wasn’t long before Ian boiled down it all down to a polished vocal style.
By the age of 17 Ian began playing the local circuit with cover bands and at the same time writing and recording his own material. Ian soon began making contributions to local bands and artists landing his first few gigs as a session musician. As Ian earned the respect of local artists and musicians he began to make a name for himself. Videos he’d posted of his multi-track recordings on Youtube and Facebook of multitrack recordings gave him wide recognition as a multi-instrumentalist and self-producer.

Jonathan Edwards
Warm as summer sunshine, real as the truth, intimate as a long overdue visit between old friends … such is a Jonathan Edwards concert. Four decades into a stellar career of uncompromising musical integrity, the man simply delivers, night after night – songs of passion, songs of insight, songs of humor, all rendered in that pure and powerful tenor which, like fine wine, has only grown sweeter with age.
This is one veteran performer who is neither grizzled nor nostalgic. These days Jonathan Edwards, a vital and relevant artist in today’s folk and Americana scenes, is much more likely to be found looking forward rather than back. Still, the journey that has brought him to towns and theaters all over the globe—perhaps one near you tonight – is well worth revisiting.
For Baby Jonathan that journey began in Minnesota, where Jonathan spent the first six years of his life before his father’s government job brought the family to Virginia. It was there that young Jon first sang in public – a solo in church at the age of eight – and began experimenting with songs Jonathan, with a furry friend, played by ear on the family piano. On the brink of his teens, after only a few music lessons from the lady next door, he found that he was inclined to do his best learning on his own; in the decades to come, this would prove to be true not only with regard to music but also to life in general. Progressing from piano to guitar because, after all, it was the ’60s, Jonathan began marching to the tunes in his own head rather than the ones dictated by his military school upbringing. “I started on a $29 guitar and immediately started putting a band together, writing songs and learning all the contemporary folk songs of the time,” he recalls. “I just loved it, loved everything about it, loved being in front of people playing music.”
Regardless of music’s siren call, Jonathan made the expected move to college following his graduation from high school, studying painting and art in college in Ohio. But music, a force not to be denied, remained a constant companion. “I started getting electric about the time Dylan did, doing electric folk music. I joined bands by saying, ‘Can I be in your band?’ and they’d ask, ‘What do you play?’ and I’d say, ‘What do you need?’ I’m still that way. I still love to play different instruments. It helps me understand production techniques and performance capabilities.”
Eventually the draw of the music proved stronger than establishment expectations, and Jonathan left college in 1968 to pursue the dream. Selling the car his father had loaned him for school, he bought a van to accommodate his band and headed east to Boston and its happening folk music scene.
Sugar Creek Jonathan and his fellow band mates quickly immersed themselves in that scene, playing over 100 grueling 6/40 gigs per year – six forty-minute sets per night – all over New England. They played cover tunes as well as their own country blues originals; you might have seen them in those days performing as the Headstone Circus or the St. James Doorknob or the Finite Minds. They even recorded an album for Metromedia Records under the name Sugar Creek. (out of print)
Not surprisingly, after a few years Jonathan grew weary of the grind, finding himself drawn more and more to the clean, simple sound of an acoustic guitar. “I just one night said, ‘Hey fellas, this isn’t sounding as good as it could, and I’d like us to sound more intimate.’ I liked the sound of bronze strings on rosewood better than steel strings on magnets, and so I walked out of that club in Vermont, rented myself a van and PA system, and started traveling around the colleges in New England by myself, without gigs, just setting up in the lobbies of dormitories on a Saturday. Pretty soon I started getting a following. People would say, ‘Has that guy been to your dorm yet? That guy just sets up, plugs in and plays all night.’”
Jonathan – seventies performance
Jonathan’s initiative and dedication soon paid off, and he found himself opening for national acts, including the Allman Brothers Band and B. B. King. This exposure attracted the attention of Capricorn Records, and he was placed under contract with them. “We took about a year recording the first album – different times, different studios, different sounds, different techniques,” he recalls. “Recording was so new in ’69 and ’70. There was a song on the album called ‘Please Find Me,’ and for some reason the engineer rolled over it. It got erased. We spent hours looking for it. We fired the engineer and put ‘Sunshine’ in its place.”
Jonathan Edwards
Like most of the songs on the eponymously titled album Jonathan Edwards (1971), “Sunshine” was written shortly after Jonathan left the band. “I felt really fresh, really liberated,” he remembers. “I just went out in the woods every day with my bottle of wine and guitar, sat by a lake near Boston and wrote down all those tunes, day after day.”
A fierce proclamation of protest and independence set to deceptively upbeat music, “Sunshine” resonated with the thousands and thousands of frustrated and angry young men and women of the day. “It was just at the time of the Vietnam War and Nixon. It was looking bad out there. That song meant a lot to a lot of people during that time – especially me,” Jonathan says. It got its start on a Boston radio station and quickly made its way to the top five on the national charts, earning him a gold record in 1971.
“Sunshine” ushered in a sea change in Jonathan’s life and career, sweeping him up in a current of “overnight” success. As Jonathan recalls decades later, “All of a sudden – ’71 – I was a huge celeb for fifteen minutes and riding around in limos … and I was trying my best, trying really hard to keep it at bay, to not take advantage of it, to not be that guy, to be the guy who I was going into that life-changing experience, because I liked myself and I thought what I was doing was right, and so I wanted to sustain who I was. For better or for worse, that was my decision.”
Honky-Tonk Stardust Cowboy Jonathan documented those days and those feelings in the song “That’s What Our Life Is”: “I don’t let it change all the things I believe in.” The song appeared on his second album, Honky-Tonk Stardust Cowboy (1972), and it was not the first (nor would it be the last) time he drew on his life experiences for a song. “The songs I write are about my life … what’s going on in my life, heart and spirit, and mind.”
Cowboy Jonathan
Following the success of “Sunshine,” Jonathan sought a haven from the probing spotlights and noisy cities on a farm in western Massachusetts. In this bucolic setting, inspiration abounded, and the songs for Honky-Tonk Stardust Cowboy almost wrote themselves. Recorded for Atlantic Records, the album featured acoustic, country-inflected songs of love and life and was closely followed by a second Atlantic offering, Have a Good Time for Me (1973). This time around, as a gesture of thanks and appreciation, Jonathan featured songs penned by friends who, in the early years of his career, had been instrumental in his development as an artist.
Today Jonathan says, “It’s never been real important to me who wrote a song … . It’s about the song, the flow of the lyrics, and how the lyrics are married to the chords and the melody and the rhythm. It’s all about that, not so much who wrote it. That’s why, over the course of my recording career, I’ll bet pretty close to fifty percent of the songs on my records have been written by somebody else. And I’m okay with that. People have a problem with that, but I don’t.”
What Jonathan did have a problem with in the three years following the success of “Sunshine” were the demands of the road. The seemingly endless grind of five and six one-nighters a week took its toll, and a life-threatening illness served to bring everything sharply into focus. Jonathan and another canine companionWhile recovering, he decided to abandon his career and relocate to a farm he’d bought in Nova Scotia. “All I wanted to do was be on the farm. [The illness] straightened me out about my priorities regarding life, and I wanted to go back to the land. I wanted to learn how to grow a garden and raise animals, learn to work with horses, be in the woods and streams.”
What direction are we going?
The only problem with this plan was that Jonathan still owed Atlantic nine more albums! He was persuaded to deliver one more recording before heading north, so 1974 saw the release of Lucky Day, an album recorded live at the Garage in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The title track conveyed the sense of joy and liberation he felt about his upcoming move.
Nine months later, as had happened during his college days years earlier, Farmer Edwards was again discovering that his music was a demanding lover, one not to be ignored, subordinated, or abandoned. So when old friend Emmylou Harris called and invited him to come to Los Angeles to provide backing vocals for her Elite Hotel recording, he caught a flight and showed up the next day. “She called me out of the blue and said that she was doing a record in L.A. with her husband/producer Brian Ahern and wanted me to come down. She said that she heard my voice on a couple of songs.”
Rockin’ Chair Jonathan’s resulting relationship with Ahern led to a production deal with Warner Brothers and two critically acclaimed albums, Rockin’ Chair (1976) and Sailboat (1977), featuring such legendary sidemen as Glen D. Hardin and James Burton. As a result, Nova Scotia saw little of him in the late ’70s. Today he advises young people aspiring to the life of a performing artist to balance personal life and career. Fondly reflecting on his time up north, he recalls the line from “Nova Scotia” that gives voice to the contentment found by striking that balance: “What a friend I am to myself again.”
Jonathan moved back to the U.S. in 1979, living briefly in New Hampshire before relocating to the Appalachian region of Virginia, close to his childhood home. There he became a regular patron of the Birchmere during its Thursday night performances by the Americana/bluegrass group the Seldom Scene. “I’d go down and listen to them. Soon I started sitting in. It started sounding pretty good. So I said, ‘Why don’t we go into the studio and record some of this stuff?’ They said, ‘Man, we were going to ask you.’ Within a week, we were in a studio, recording.”
Blue Ridge The result was 1985’s Blue Ridge, an album that its legions of admirers claim sets the standard for excellence in bluegrass music with its haunting harmonies, superb musicianship, and inspired song choices. “I’m really happy with the way that album turned out,” Jonathan says. “It was an amazing experience because we left the recordings the way they were the day that we recorded them. There was no fixing it the next day or the next week. That was a new experience for me in the studio and very refreshing. It led to a certain spontaneity and immediacy in the music. It was a lot of fun.”
Little Hands, a tender song inspired by the birth of Jonathan’s daughter Grace in 1977 became the title track for his next project. Little Hands: Songs for and About Children (1987), a charming mix of American folk songs and whimsical original compositions, has been honored by the National Library Association as a “Notable Children’s Recording” and remains a top seller in its field to this day.
A chance meeting in Nashville provided the spark for Jonathan’s next career move. Following his immersion in the California country rock scene in the ’70s and his bluegrass work with the Seldom Scene, it seemed inevitable – the natural thing, as it were – for Jonathan to record in Nashville. “I was touring with a Broadway show, Pump Boys and Dinettes, and we performed [the show] in Nashville. All of my old friends got together, including Wendy Waldman, who said that she knew a guy that ‘had the ears of America. He has a studio and access to all of the best players.’ I didn’t write much, but I was able to glean a lot of cool songs from all of my old friends. It turned out to be one of my favorite albums.”
The Natural Thing
That album was, of course, The Natural Thing (1989). “I was crazy about the songs we selected from those great Nashville writers,” Jonathan recalls, “and the acoustic-based production that Wendy and I put together was just a joy to make and to listen to. I count that as one of the best albums I’ve ever been involved with.”
One Day Closer Moving into his third decade on the national stage, Jonathan embraced the challenges of the ’90s by launching his own label, Rising Records. In 1994 he released One Day Closer, his first solo album in five years, and also participated in the “Back to the Future” tour, joining Don McLean, Tom Rush, Jesse Colin Young, Steve Forbert, and Al Stewart and earning rave reviews for his efforts.
Jonathan’s other projects during the ’90s included scoring the 1996 film The Mouse, starring John Savage; producing albums for protégé Cheryl Wheeler; and signing artists like Lisa McCormack and Simon Townshend to his new label. He also released Man in the Moon (1997), which featured several new Edwards originals.
In 1998 Jonathan learned that a bootleg CD featuring the two Warner Brothers albums he had done back in the ’70s had become a huge underground hit in the Netherlands. He contacted promoters there to see if there was any interest in having him come and do some shows, and the answer was a resounding “Yes!” Since then, he has traveled there regularly, much to the delight of enthusiastic audiences who know all the words to his songs, refuse to let him leave the stage, and buy every CD they can get their hands on.
Cruising America’s Waterways The start of the new millennium found Jonathan doing a very different kind of traveling. As host of Cruising America’s Waterways, a pair of 13-week documentary series produced for PBS, he traveled by boat (lots of different ones!) from the Thousand Islands in the northern St. Lawrence River to west of Key West. As host, he says, “I play[ed] music in and out of all of the scenes. At one point, we stopped along the river and did a concert.” A 30-minute video of that concert, Cruising America’s Waterways: The Concert at Sackets Harbor, and a CD featuring music from the series were released in 2001.
Rollin’ Along That year also marked the 30-year anniversary of the release of “Sunshine,” which Jonathan celebrated with characteristic good humor in his First Annual Farewell Tour. As it turned out, the “First Annual” portion of that title proved to be much more prophetic than the “Farewell” part, resulting in the CDs Live in Massachusetts (2006) and Rollin’ Along: Live in Holland (2008).
In addition, 2008 saw the release of a 90-minute documentary of Jonathan’s life and career entitled That’s What Our Life Is. Released by Media Artists, the DVD is available for purchase at shows and here on this web site.
Jonathan can also be seen as the reformist preacher Reverend Perly in the 2009 release The Golden Boys, a film starring David Carradine, Bruce Dern, and Rip Torn and featuring a Jonathan Edwards score.

An artist who measures his success by his ability to attract and take good care of an audience for four decades, Jonathan maintains that it is the feedback he receives after his shows that keeps him going. “Sometimes, in our darker moments, we imagine our music not finding receptive ears, unable to reach open hearts. So it is really gratifying to hear [someone say], ‘Your stuff has meant a lot to me over the years.’”
On the verge of his fifth decade in the music business, Jonathan Edwards shows no sign of turning into a “Sit Down Rock and Roll Man.” Upcoming plans include new markets, new audiences, new songs, and a new studio recording. As this barefoot troubadour prepares for the next stage of his journey, you are more than welcome to join him for an evening or two as he continues to make good on that promise he made all the way back in 1971: “Sunshine, come on back another day … I promise you I’ll still be singing.”

Josh Burke of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus
At the age of 16, Josh introduced himself to Ronnie Winter of RJA when they toured through Syracuse, NY. Fast forward several months to when Josh joined RJA in July 2011 for Summerfest in Milwaukee. Josh was invited to join RJA as a “fan of the band”. By the end of the evening, it was clear Josh is an exceptional guitarist and had won the admiration of RJA fans. You can go to YouTube to see a video of Summerfest as well as the video RJA welcomes Josh Burke. Josh has proven himself a true professional, and has since toured across the USA, Canada and Europe.

Lord Volture
“The majestic of a lordship, the velocity and power of an electrical charge and the beastly ruggedness of a scavenging vulture”
LORD VOLTURE is a heavy metal band hailing from The Netherlands founded by vocalist David Marcelis. After an explosive take-off in 2010 with the release of their debut album BEAST OF THUNDER and an intensive touring schedule, the band rapidly rises to find themselves in the frontier of Dutch Heavy Metal. The album thunders through the global metal community and reviewers worldwide count BEAST OF THUNDER among the major releases of 2010 (10/12 Ancient Spirit, 88/100 Digital Steel, 85/100 Mario’s Metal Mania, 4/5 Maximum Metal, 9/10 Maxirock, 8.5/10 Metal District, 4/5 Metal Rules, 86/100 Metal To Infinity, 87/100 Metalfan, 5/7 Mindview, 8/10 My Global Mind, 80/100 Zware Metalen, 95/100 Steel and Fire Records). LORD VOLTURE’s sound and style is said to resemble US power metal masters JAG PANZER, ICED EARTH, CAGE and VICIOUS RUMORS. The band’s ever growing reputation opens doors to many headline performances, as well as support shows for PRIMAL FEAR, FIREWIND, BLAZE BAYLEY, VANDERBUYST, James Rivera’s SABBATH JUDAS SABBATH, TOKYO BLADE and PICTURE.
With the release of the band’s second full-length NEVER CRY WOLF in November 2011 LORD VOLTURE progresses to the next level without abandoning their traditional sound nor the uncompromising energy that characterizes the debut album. Containing upbeat thrash tracks, eloquent epics as well as catchy rockers the new album is even more dynamic in nature and yet again, the reviews speak for themselves (10/10 Planetmosh, 10/10 Sweden Metal, 88/100 Lords Of Metal, 9/10 Metal Express Radio, 92/100 Metalfan, 8/10 Metalize.me, 91/100 Metal To Infinity, 8.5/10 Metal1.info, 8.5/10 PowerMetal.de, 9/10 Terrorverlag). The tradition to invite a renown guest set on BEAST OF THUNDER with ANNIHILATOR’s Jeff Waters is being continued on NEVER CRY WOLF with no one less than CAGE singer Sean Peck. But also the LORD VOLTURE members themselves show their worth. The piercing mid and high register of singer David, the shredding solos of guitar duo Paul Marcelis/Leon Herm and the pounding rhythm machine of bass player Simon Geurts and drummer Frank Wintermans deliver all ingredients for the ultimate metal sound. For all who bear a heart of steel, LORD VOLTURE is a definite MUST!

Mark Denkley
Sandness is the result of a project started in 2008, when two sixteen years old friends Mark Denkley and Metyou ToMeatyou (bass and drums respectively) decided to form a hard rock band, trying to bring back to life the ‘80s with their original tracks. The band’s line-up went through some changes during the years. The only one who seemed to have the same ambitions of the other two members was Robby Luckets, so he joined the band in 2009 and became the new guitarist. After four years spent playing in four, Sandness has lately become a band formed by three musicians. During the last few years the band has achieved a good success in Italy and abroad and they had the chance to open the concerts for famous musicians like Adam Bomb in 2010 and L.A. Guns in 2011. Their first demo “Return To Decadence” has already been released in 2010, but it’s the second one “Life Without Control” that brought them some success all over the world, also thanks to the sales of their merchandise on the Internet. On August 2013 and 2014 Sandness went on European tour and roused a great success, especially in Czech Republic and Belgium. Peter Aves
eter Aves is a young, advanced guitarist aiming to continue to pursue his career in the music industry. This year has allowed him to extensively tour Italy, delivering music workshops, lectures and seminars to various age groups until early June, before returning to the UK to work for himself, dipping his fingers in as many pies as possible.
His previous experience mainly consists of live performances with various function & party bands, covering masses of songs, spanning many styles, decades and genres, including Ska, Reggae, Funk, Blues, Rock, Pop, Mod, Country… In addition to his cover work, Peter works with Shoot the Poet, a local, similar aged band from his hometown of Hartlepool, in the North East of England; who have their aims and visions set high for their own music, after rubbing shoulders with such artists as Kodaline, Primal Scream, the Proclaimers, Wheatus, King Charles, Dexy’s and many more. Pete has also involved himself with other performance areas such as working in the pits for musicals; and soothing, lounge music due to his reading ability.
Peter’s initial influence for playing guitar came from hearing the Argos advert as a child, with Status Quo’s ‘Whatever You Want’ gaining his interest. As an experienced guitarist and a huge Quo fan, his Dad stepped in, introducing him to the world of playing music, digging out his very first guitar which cost him a years earnings of paper-boy money! From then on, he was hooked. He grew up listening and playing songs by various rock and blues type artists (where his heart will always be), before exploring and training in Classical, Jazz and other electric styles.
Peter’s heroes now include: Toto, Thin Lizzy, Asia, Steely Dan, Gary Moore, Europe, Steve Lukather, of course Status Quo, and one ‘It Bites’, from whom he received a signed guitar from their front-man John Mitchell. It Bites played a great part in introducing Peter to Cort Guitars, of which he is also endorsed by, making use of both G series and M series models.
The family support that has been given to Peter could not have been more overwhelming, for which he sincerely sends his thanks to all who have driven him forward; in particular his parents Graeme and Sue, whom have given their time, their thoughts and their total devotion to Pete, allowing him to progress and making them 2 very proud individuals.

QUEL BORDEL!
QUEL BORDEL! was founded in San Diego in 2013 when a Ukrainian gypsy named Jakovich Skolnick met renowned classical violinist Regina Brown on a French Caribbean cruise line. Adding two Filipino brothers Aaron and Allen after meeting on a sordid fishing trip, the band came to America and enlisted drummer Nick Sitar to form an insanely energetic gypsy band of the world. Immediately beginning with an year-long residency headlining Gaslamp venue Jimmy Love’s, QUEL BORDEL! has built a great following in San Diego. The band has headlined gigs at The Casbah and House of Blues Mainstage, and performed at the Get Shamrocked festival with the Young Dubliners and Dublin City Ramblers – all in under a year. The new EP “Qui Ne Chante Pas…” is receiving rave reviews and blowing up with with indie blogs. Likewise, the band has nationally touring dates scheduled through 2013 and an international tour slated for 2015 opening for French gypsy phenomenon BandápArt in Europe!!

Robby Luckets
Always in 2011 Sandness went on a short tour in the Latvian capital Riga and in 2012 they played in France for the renowned “Glam Fest”. Their first demo “Return To Decadence” has already been released in 2010, but it’s the second one “Life Without Control” that brought them some success all over the world, also thanks to the sales of their merchandise on the Internet. Sandness spent one year working hard on the songs for their first official album “LIKE AN ADDICTION”, which has been released worldwide on 5th April 2013 by Sleaszy Rider Records. On August 2013 and 2014 Sandness went on European tour and roused a great success, especially in Czech Republic and Belgium. They are now working on the songs for a new album, which is going to be recorded by the end of 2014.

Solace of Requiem
EPIC F****** BRUTALITY! Classically Composed / Brutally Rendered . . These are the only words that can accurately describe Solace of Requiem. The band is from the United States and plays a most unique and original form of extreme metal. Sometimes labeled as “Technical Blackened Death Metal”, SOR’s music is not only instrumentally technical, but is also technical in composition. Blending together an array of haunting technical passages, classical movements, grim ambience and relentless brutality, with a diverse assortment of highly intelligible extreme vocals. Making it is easy to hear the vast collection of influences that are incorporated within Solace Of Requiem‘s music. As opposed to the overdone “riff 1, riff 2, chorus, repeat” format, or simply juxtaposing a string of so-called “brutal” riffs with no rhyme nor reason, Solace Of Requiem has created music that is unique in sound, as well as in structure. Making extreme metal that is in a genre all its own.

Sparzanza
The title of the upcoming SPARZANZA album is “Circle“
A symbol that often represents aspects of time, life, secret societies, barriers you might shelter within or hidden borders that protects you from good or bad. Sometimes the circle may even be there for your own sake.
A circle is not something that has one specific meaning – it has several, so let the interpretation of this be in the eyes of the beholder
What can be considered as a fact is that SPARZANZA moves back and forth across the lines of the circle on this album. “We wanted to make something different this time – you hear it’s SPARZANZA – without a doubt, but we wanted to make a reaction to the last albums and we are all really thrilled of the outcome and look forward to playing the songs live” says the singerFredrik Weileby.
The overall sound of the album is the most natural sounding in their discography. The drum sound is in your face without being unnatural dry. The use of alternate tunings on the guitars has created a different sound than on the previous albums and the dark feel that was present on the ”Death is Certain, Life is Not” album is more subtle this time around, “Circle” is in overall the most brutal album in the SPARZANZA catalog. It has a rawness and special edge to it that we are really happy to have achieved.
What’s inside the Circle?
It is the most varied and dynamic album SPARZANZA have ever produced.
Not only that it contains the most brutal-and rawest-songs-and-grooves-that-will-make-heads-bang they have ever written, it also shows a different side on their songwriting skills that isdifferent from what’s been done before. Although it still has the SPARZANZAtrade mark sense of melodies. Fredrik Weileby has outdone himself with the most impressive vocal performances ever.
The first sample of the album is the single “Underneath My Skin”. A song with melodies most bands would die for. The single basically has everything that you could expect from a great SPARZANZA track – just a little bit more in every aspect….
Welcome inside the Circle
SPARZANZA 2014

The Fabulous Po’ Boys
Born on a snowy night in November of 1991, The Fabulous Po’ Boys have conspicuously made their way around the country in many forms. Always at the core of the band are Warren Payne on vocals, guitar and bass, and Ed Johnson on vocals and guitar.
Warren Payne started his songwriting career when he was twelve, cranking out “hits” to impress his friends. Since then, he has performed from Alaska to Nashville and written over 200 songs.
Warren has performed with his bands and solo in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Colorado, Montana, Arizona, California, Nevada, Nashville and Canada. He also worked in studios in Los Angeles as a bassists and singer.
With his band Alki, he had a regional hit in the ’70s with “Someone Like Me,” a song he wrote and performed on the Warmsong Records single. Two of his songs, “Questions” and “Let Me Go” have been arranged and published for vocal jazz groups by Kysar Publishing with hundreds of performances of each throughout North America.
Ed Johnson’s music career started when, at the age of 13, while holding a plastic guitar under the Christmas tree, he asked his father, “Dad, do you think I could learn how to play a real guitar?” Thanks go to his mother for helping him pick out his first guitar with tender, loving care and to his father for inundating him with every hit by Elvis Presley.
In the dual role of lead singer and rhythm guitar, Ed has played in various bands throughout the Puget Sound area, including Fury, Epic, Demetrius and the Strobe Tunes, The Gravity Brats, The Newsies and GRIP.
Ed’s musical journey took a decidedly mellow turn from various travels through Mexico and the Caribbean in which he developed a strong appreciation for the music of Bob Marley and Jimmy Buffett; clearly strong influences in his contribution to The Fabulous Po’ Boys.
Discography:
A Feast For Your Ears, Vol. II – 2004
A Po’ Boys Christmas – 2005
Turn The Channel – 2007

Tim Foreman of Switchfoot
Tim Foreman plays bass for Switchfoot, a 5-piece rock band from San Diego. The band originally formed as a trio in 1996, and they cut their teeth playing sweaty rock shows in every rock club across the US. The band released 3 indie records prior to their better known major-label releases, “the Beautiful Letdown” and “Nothing is Sound,” which have combined to sell 3.5 million records with hits such as “Meant To Live”, “Dare You To Move”, “Stars”, and “One Tonight”. Tim began playing bass at age 11, in a Led Zeppelin cover band with his brother Jon. In addition to learning John Paul Jones bass parts, Tim claims Paul McCartney as his main influence.

Tommy Alverson
Arlington’s Tommy Alverson should be the permanent face of the independent Texas country music movement. He embodies all the hallmarks of the sound, and the mind-set. Alverson is Lone Star proud. He’s artistically beholden to nobody but himself. He loves Americana music, that decidedly Texas blend of country, swing, Tex-Mex, Southern rock, folk and blues. He writes songs, but also has no qualms about recording good material from somebody else’s pen. He’s made a living playing music his way.
Alverson’s new CD, Texas One More Time, encapsulates his creative mantra in 14 songs. He covers expansive territory. You get a classic Texas country anthem (“Texas One More Time”), a honky-tonk corker (“Broken Hearted People”), a swinging country ballad (“Don’t Mind If I Do”), a Western swing number (“It’s Hard to Say for Sure”), a bluesy rave-up (“Sweet Love”), a Tex-Mex nugget (“Move to Texas”) and a humorous ditty (“Willie’s Place”).
Texas One More Time is Alverson’s ninth disc in a career that has been incredibly steady. He’s carved a livelihood playing and recording the music he cherishes in the state he calls home. That’s the epitome of successful. He doesn’t need anything else.- MARIO TARRADELL / The Dallas Morning News
Alverson’s been making music with a Lone Star state of mind – and sound – for decades, yet his popularity is still growing. When he won the 2007 Best Country and Western Music Award from Fort Worth Weekly, the paper declared, “If there is such a thing as Cowtown country music’s elder statesman, he’s it.”
Though Alverson has stood on Texas’ honky-tonk and dance hall stages since way before he could be called an elder statesman of anything, the first time radio really paid attention was with the Jimmy Buffett-ish “Una Mas Cerveza,” a song on 1999’s, Lloyd Maines-produced Me on the Jukebox. Ironically, that one allowed him to quit his 30-year gig with Miller Brewing Co. so he could hit the road and sing his songs. – FW Weekly
Tommy Alverson fiercely hews to the time-honored Texas country music tradition—a little swing, a little twang, a lot of heart. He’s a mentor, producer, festival promoter, songwriter and singer who takes responsibility for keeping boot marks on the honky-tonk hardwood floor. – BUZZ MCCLAIN
Whenever I see Tommy’s name, I know I’m in for a real country music experience. – Robert K. Oerman-Nashville, Tn.

Trapped In Static
Trapped In Static (TIS) is an alternative rock/indie band based in New York City formed by singer/musician Athan Hilaki (previously with GAD.) and drummer David Torres in September 2011. With Athan’s vocals, often characterized as a mix of Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder and Scott Stapp, David’s heavy but always funky drum rhythms, they create their own sound with influences from Nirvana and U2 to Coldplay and Kings Of Leon, something that always leaves the unknown crowd asking… “How come we’ve never heard of you guys before?”
Trapped In Static has performed live in some of New York City’s hottest concert venues such as Gramercy Theater, The Bitter End, Sullivan Hall, Knitting Factory, Pianos, Bowery Electric, Delancey and Arlene’s Grocery as well as the cable TV show “Minding Your Business” (2012) and “Niteclub Ratings” (2013). Travis Bettis of Lee Brice Band
Travis Bettis grew up in the overlooked rock and roll / blues music scene of Houston, TX. He sat in open mic blues jams with his father, Big Al Bettis, at one of Houston’s best kept little secrets, Dan Electro’s Guitar Bar. At an early age he got the bug to play electric guitar and by the time 18 hit, he was off to Nashville. After a few years of playing house gigs around town, he joined the house band at BB KINGS BLUES CLUB. Cutting his teeth on STAX records and Delta blues, he slowly picked up on country music. After the blues gigs, he joined up with, at the time, new country artist Lee Brice. Almost seven years later and 48 states and countless tours, he is still rolling strong as Lee’s guitar player. This year includes a tour with Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, and Brad Paisley.

TrollfesT
“I’ve been using the Steve Clayton custom picks with my bouzouki for several years now and they’re great! Not only does the print look good and solid, but it works just as good for whatever exotic string instrument we manage to include in our music as it does for guitar and bass” – Manskow
“I`ve been using the custom Clayton picks for years. Never before have I come across picks that are more reliable. Add the genius online editor for custom guitar picks and you have a winner!” – Mr.Seidel
With a line up that includes musicians from bands as varied as URGEHAL, PANTHEON I, UNTIME, MELCH, HALLUCINATIONS, POWERSWORD and SARKOM, TROLLFEST’s members bring with them not only a wealth of experience and the skill to make use of instruments like the accordion, the banjo and the saxophone, but also a sense of diversity that allows the band to create a sound that is distinctly its own. Whilst “True Norwegian Balkan Metal” goes some way towards describing the TROLLFEST sound – hinting as it does at the extreme end of metal, with a good pinch of local traditional folk – it doesn’t really go the whole way towards capturing the sense of fun and sheer exuberance with which the band tackles everything it does, whether it involves playing in the studio or performing live.
Formed in 2004, in Oslo, Norway, when a bunch of musicians became bored with the selection of party music that was available to them, and, helped along by the consumption of large quantities of alcohol, the soon-to-be members of TrollfesT decided to take matters into their own hands. One website and six songs later, a German label, which at the time was called Solistium, recognised the potential in the madness and got in touch. With the immortal words “what the heck, let’s give it a go” TrollfesT agreed to a deal and started writing new material. By 2005 “Willkommen Folk tell Drekka Fest!!” hit the streets. And life as we know it was never the same again.
Containing a selection of sounds and comments, many of which you would not necessarily come across if you only frequented polite parties, “Willkommen…” displayed some unique qualities that caught people’s attention and consequently sold rather a lot of copies, so a deal for a second album was signed and in 2006 the story of Brakebein the Troll was released. “Brakebein” (not a bad choice for a title really given its subject matter), appeared in two versions – one that included a cartoon illustrating Brakebein’s voyage, and the other that included the lyrics.
During the first years, TrollfesT never actually played live, but nevertheless the two albums succeeded in making the band a sought after addition to festivals, and the first foray beyond the planning stage occurred in 2007 as one of the headlining bands at the Ninth Barther Metal Open Air Festival. TrollfesT then went on to headline and play various festivals and concerts around Europe during 2007/08 including the Ragnarök and Riedfest festivals.
January 2009 saw the release of TrollfesT’s third studio album “Villanden”. A much-anticipated underground album according to feedback from the fans, “Villanden” was quickly acknowledged as one of the craziest albums to have been released in a very long time, mixing, as it did, European Balkan music with extreme metal, and spread rapidly through the viral networks like YouTube, MySpace and Facebook.
2011 saw TrollfesT sign with NoiseArt Records for the release of the new album “En Kvest For Den Hellige Gral” and with Rock The Nation for world-wide booking. Tours and festival appearancs quickly followed demonstrting that as a live force TrollfesT is hard to beat.
2012 started of with a European tour together with Korpiklanni and several festivals in Europe. In August TrollfesT released the critically acclaimed ”Brumlebassen”, the band’s fifth full-length album. The band then followed up the release by joining the Heidenfest-tour through Europe together with Wintersun and Korpiklaani.
In 2013 the band celebrated their 10 year anniversary by releasing the compilation album “A Decade Of Drekkadence”. TrollfesT also did not only one, but two big North-American tours (together with Wintersund and Alestorm). The summer saw the band playing at several big European festivals.
The band’s sixth studio album, ”Kaptein Kaos” was released April 2014 through NoiseArt Records, hitting the streets in Europe on the 28th March and North America on the 8th of April. Following the release of TrollfesT’s latest album the band embarked on their first European headlining tour which started the 18th of April and ran for 16 dates. Already confirmed for the summer festival season are Hellfest, Motocultor Festival, Carpathian Metal Alliance.
So how would anyone, in their right mind, or otherwise, dare to define TrollfesT? The closest you would come is probably True Norwegian Balkan Metal, but even then you would need to include influences from lots more genres. The best way to put it is that this band is all about alcohol, joy and music, three subjects that draw in fans from all ages and genres, eager to listen to TrollfesT’s records and witness the exuberant and skilled live performances.

Vinny Roth
Whether he’s playing his trademark soulful progressive Blues with The Vinny Roth Band, or doing session work around his adopted Washington D.C. area Vinny always brings his A+ game. Through his ecclectic array of musicianship he has garnered spots playing along side such musical luminaries as Ian Gilian of Deep Purple, Honky tonk pioneer Bill Kirchen and many many others. Mr. Roth’s sound and style has held comparisons to players like Duane Allman, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Nolan (James Brown’s band), BB.King and even Wes Montgomery.
Originaly from Queens New York Roth discovered the hipness of the guitar from watching his first Elvis movie. It was the opening riff to Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” that planted the seed of wanting an electric guitar. Early influences where Aerosmith, Clapton, Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin. It was through his favorite guitar teacher, an old hippie soul named Rick Meyer, that Vinny started to improvise. “Rick was the original Jack Black from the School of Rock. He would loan me stacks of his vinyl each week and tell me to listen, play along and improvise. It was during this period that I started listen to The Allman Brothers, The Dead and tons of old blues. This is the music that changed my life!”
After high school he attained a fine arts degree in music after studying at both Northern VA Community College and George Mason University. On his current Cd, due for release in the summer of 2014 Vinny tries to hit every color of the music sprectrum while keeping his ideas fresh. “I think a good album should feature music that flows from inside and showcases the influences you have. I’m am a big fan of 60’s and 70’s live music, especially the live jam approaches of the Band of Gypsies, The Allmans, The Dead, Muddy Waters”
Vinny’s music has not only won several songwriting awards but also garnered write ups in Guitar Player, Vintage Guitar, 20th Century Guitar as well European press in the German Publication Guitar & Bass magazine. Willy Braun of Reckless Kelly
For fifteen years Reckless Kelly has been doing things their way, bucking the mainstream system and playing by their own rules, straddling the fence between country and rock as if they built it themselves. Throughout the years their old school approach to recording has always adhered to one main objective: make each record better than the last. Their latest effort, “Good Luck & True Love” is no exception to this rule.
Recorded in an old farmhouse-turned studio in Austin Texas, and released on the bands new independent label No Big Deal Records, “Good Luck & True Love” is pure, driving, uncut Reckless Kelly. The songs are all written or co-written by front man Willy Braun and range in subject matter from road songs, (“Weatherbeaten Soul,” “Hit The Ground Running”) to songs about music, (“New Moon Over Nashville,” “I Stayed Up All Night Again”) and songs about good old-fashioned heartbreak (“Guarded Heart,” “She Likes Money, He Likes Love,” and “I Never Liked St. Valentine”). The album is the 9th in RK’s ever-growing catalogue and is the 3rd they have produced by themselves.
The Reckless boys also made it a point to track almost all of it live. Just 5 guys sitting in a room playing music, with minimal overdubs and aside from a harmony vocal from Dani Flowers, the band plays each and every instrument and part. “We wanted to make a record that sounded like we sound live, without any extra parts thrown in. We wanted it to sound like a band,” said fiddle/mandolin player Cody Braun. “Keeping it all in the same space and making sure it was an album rather than just a collection of songs was the main goal, and I think we came pretty close to what we set out to do…there’s a lot of continuity within this project.” The result is an album that encompasses the last 15 years of Reckless Kelly. Ten new songs that capture the essence of a road worn and battle scarred band of brothers that aren’t afraid to take risks and tell it like it is. That’s country rock. That’s old school. That’s Reckless Kelly.
Discography: Good Luck & True Love (2011), Somewhere In Time (2009), Bulletproof (July 2008), Reckless Kelly Was Here (2006), Wicked Twisted Road (2005), Under The Table And Above The Sun (2003), The Day (2000), Acoustic: Live at Stubbs (2000), Millican (1997)

Xstrophy
Xstrophy was truly created the day Leonard Newton was born. Leonard was born with a rare birth defect called an Exstrophy. This made his life extremely challenging and filled with pain, suffering, near death experiences and over 15 surgeries. The way he dealt with all of this was to write. He put all his anger, hate and pain down on paper and knew at some point he would share it with the world. He also knew he would name the band after his birth defect. Exstrophy means to have things on the inside of your body born on the outside. To Leonard, this is exactly what music is, everything you have on the inside of your body and soul is shown to the world. So this was the perfect name for the band…Xstrophy.
The band was truly founded in 2008, when Len met Pat Bowser. They had the same musical tastes, and his guitar playing blew Len away. They began working on songs together throughout the year. There was a mixture of old songs Len had written, completely new songs, and the occasional Metallica cover.
Throughout the next year, Xstrophy started to play out, making a name for themselves throughout DC, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, New York and New Jersey areas. After a few lineup changes, they found the perfect drummer for the band with Mike Haifley “Stix”, who is well known regionally and nationally for his drumming. A few more months down the road, Zack Arthur, a longtime friend of the band and a phenomenal bassist was added to the lineup as Xstrophy’s permanent bass player. Stix and Zack add a whole new dimension to the band that was not there before, and now Xstrophy feels they can take on the world!
Xstrophy is currently putting the final touches on their full length album “MY TORTURED PAST”, which is slated for a mid 2012 release. Keep checking back for more updates on where to find us live, and let us know if you want to see us in your area!

Eric Church
“I like Clayton picks for 2 reasons: 1. from a technical stand point, I like the way they attack the strings. And 2., from a person stand point, Clayton picks are the only picks I have ever played. Even when I first started out just playing bars, I always used a Clayton pick. I’d feel naked without them.”

Chris Bandusky
“When playing electric guitar all I use is Clayton 1.26mm gauge picks. These picks just have it, they get the job done and actually add to the tone of my playing. Once you try these picks the search is over! After years of demoing different products these are the quality I have long searched for in a professional guitar pick.”

Cole of In Layman Terms
“I love my custom Clayton guitar picks! My band’s name and website are printed on them. I use them instead of business cards and throw them into the crowd or hand them out when I meet people. I found out that some of the girls at my school, and kids that come to our concerts collect all of my different designs. I talk to young kids learning to play guitar and they always ask where I get my cool picks from. That is an awesome feeling!”

Daddy-O!
“Steve Clayton picks are the only picks the members of Daddy-O! will use. They help Daddy-O! deliver the sound we want and consistently give us our tone. They last, too! Steve Clayton cleaners & polishes leave our instruments looking great without leaving behind messy residue and protect our guitars & basses as well.”

Dean Johanesen
“I have been using the custom picks now since 2012 and have not used any other pick since then. They have been great to use for my promotional items (surprise gifts in my Kickstarter reward packages, hand outs at gigs etc.) and they have held up great and seem to have stuck around longer than any other picks I have owned too. Great job Clayton and thank you for your support.”

Foreigner Unauthorized
“Been using Clayton’s picks for over 25 years and I say… “There is only one way to Rock”… And that’s with CLAYTON USA!! And we LOVE the USA part. Made in America baby!! The most reliable company we have had the pleasure of doing business with, courteous, knowledgeable and very supportive of musicians. Don’t matter what level they support all musicians. Outstanding products well made and durable made it through 1000’s of gigs and Clayton’s products have never let me down.”

Gio Lombardi
“CLAYTON picks is an important component of my sound. I’ve tried many picks, played many stiles, I though that, thickness apart, there can’t be much difference in picks, then I’ve tried CLAYTON and…. I’ve never used anything else ever since ! Always reliable, durable, a pick for any touch.”

James Otto
“I’m A big guy, I MUST have a big Pick! I’m 6 foot 5 Inches tall and built more like a linebacker than a Singer or guitar player. The Clayton Rounded Triangle Pick is the perfect fit for my hands and my style of playing. Whether I am in the studio or on tour, you’ll always find me using Clayton Picks to help make my music.”

Jim Ledford
“When I was on the hunt for a superior guitar pick for both live and recording gigs, I tried many! Then I ran into Steve Clayton Custom guitar picks. If you are looking for a great feeling long life span guitar pick, your search has just ended now that I have introduced you to the best picks around! I sure am glad I found this fantastic custom guitar pick company! If you want the best, then you should be using Steve Clayton Picks!!”

John Konesky of Tenacious D
“As a finger-style and hybrid-picker I never spent too much time worrying about picks.. that is until I tried Claytons. On “for-hire” sessions and live dates you need to have a lot of different techniques at your disposal, and when it comes to anything from digging into raunchy rhythms or mountain-top-face-melters, all the way to slinky and soft sensitive jams, Clayton delivers the tone and feel I want from a pick, absolutely every time.”

Johnny Zapp
I first discovered Clayton picks as a kid in the ’80s. I rode my bicycle to AB Music Studios in Huntington Beach and I was immediately drawn to the white pick with the Clayton logo. I wound up loving the texture and grip and here we are nearly 30 years later, and the Clayton 1mm picks are the only picks that can hold up to the abuse of my demanding bass duties as of late.

Johnny of Restrayned
“I started using Clayton picks five years ago after looking for a company to make my custom picks. On my first order I was hooked. Not only they beautifully printed, but the picks are extremely durable! I am a very heavy handed guitarist and the Delrin picks don’t wear down nearly as quickly as other brands of picks. They provide me with great tone and attack on the strings with no slip during those long, hot sets, and are just hands down fantastic picks. Other brands just don’t compare, so I’m sticking with Clayton!”

Lauren Jordan
“The quality I love most about Steve Clayton products is all the choices. When I really fell in love was when I started looking for a customizable option. As a style-obsessed musician, I was thrilled knowing I could FULLY customize my pick instead of being subjected to cheap lettering and tired clip art choices. I wanted a pick that not only gave me the sound and grip that I wanted, but was also a reflection of my personality. The black design on the white pearl creates an awesome 3-dimensional effect while the full-bleed allowance makes it look SO posh! I have clear vision of what I’m trying to achieve and Steve Clayton brings that into reality.”

Leni DiMancari
“There is no better guitar pick on the planet than an Acetal .80mm Clayton for durability and dependability. They are comfortable in your hand, don’t slip, or take a beating during a show. I tried other picks over the years, and the best is Clayton. I proudly endorse the product as the BEST pick on the market and I recommend them to everyone.” – Leni DiMancari

Lord Volture
“Our custom Lord Volture picks are definitely the ultimate guitar-picks for us! Great attack for all those staccato riffs, crisp and clear for full distorted chords and lots of grip!”
“Clayton’s Inner-Lock straps are perfect for giving you the sense of security ordinary strap-locks give you, without the need to alter your guitar. Either as your main strap or as an always ready back-up, Clayton Inner-Lock straps provide the security for your guitar that you need on stage!” – Paul Marcelis & Leon Hermans, LORD VOLTURE

Lorenzo “Surfer Joe” Valdambrini
“I play surf music and a very dynamic set on stage: it goes sweet and melodic, or it goes heavy and loud. Double picking all the time. All I need is control, precision, attack, feel and clarity, and Clayton Acetal picks are absolutely game changers! No better pick for me!”

Lucas Hoge
“I’ve been using Clayton Guitar pics for over 12 years and I always get the same great quality every time! I love being able to have my logo on all my pics. I take these pics all over the world, and no matter where I am, in Afghanistan, Iraq, Nebraska or Alaska, I’ve always got my Clayton pics to play with.”

Martyr Art
“If there is one thing that I’ve learned, from playing guitar for over 20 years, it’s that your guitar pick really does impact the way you play. The quality, gauge, shape, flexibility and strength are all major factors in how a pick is represented, but it all comes down to how it feels when you do play. I’ve used a lot of picks, and I have to say that the Steve Clayton Guitar Picks are engineered for tearing up the fretboard.” – Joe Gagliardi III

Matt Goodrich
“I was using Dunlop picks previously and wanted to get my own custom picks made with my name and logo. The cost through Dunlop was very high. I had a couple friends suggest looking into Steve Clayton. I looked over their product offerings and all of the artists they work with and was very impressed. I ended up ordering my first batch of custom picks at a fraction of the cost and they ended up being just as good or better than the picks I had been using! The people there are very friendly and easy to work with as well. I’m very happy to be working with such a good company.”

Peter Aves
“Music has always played a huge part in creating special moments throughout my career; one of the first, of which I will always remember, is my Dad opening his Gibson SG case when I was 4, the teardrop pick between the strings; the Steve Clayton emblem has been engraved into my mind ever since. Using Clayton products today always project me back to that particular childhood piece of history.”

Ray Johnston
“I love my Clayton picks. Because i have several styles I like to play, I use different gauge picks throughout our concerts. For open strumming, I use the pink Delrin Clayton pick. For songs where I use my percussion style and pluck-rhythm, I use the orange Delrin and Acetal .63mm picks. If i am so caught up in the moment and forget to switch picks between songs, the yellow pick is my choice for multi purpose use. I sweat during our concerts and I like the feel of the Delrin picks. The Delrins allow me to hang on to the pick when my hands get slippery. My Clayton picks are the best i have ever played! Plus they make for great souvenirs for our fans.”

Ray Powers
“Like so many other players, I had tried out a ton of different brands of guitar picks over the years before discovering Clayton Custom. Not only do Clayton picks look great, they feel so natural that they become like an extension of my fingers, and that’s vital when I’m engrossed in a performance. You can’t afford to be second-guessing your grip, durability or quality. Clayton Custom picks give you that reassurance. The only time you’ll be letting go of your pick is when you’re flipping it to one of your adoring fans who will treasure it as much as you do.”

Sean Driscoll
“Clayton makes the best picks I’ve ever used, anywhere. The feel of them and the sound they help me produce I’ve never been able to match with another brand. I started buying their other products because after getting in touch with them I found they’re a great company and like working with musicians. I’m a fan.”

Sir Rockingham
“I have used nearly every pick on the market over the last 4+ decades. A few years ago, my friend Porkchop [Eric Church’s stage carpenter] gave me a few of Eric’s picks & I loved the way they played & sounded. I bought a few more Claytons and soon they were the only picks I was using. Since I received my first custom picks, I can truly say I am now a ‘Clayton for Life’ player. I have been mainly using the Rounded Triangles [Acetal & White Pearl] these days – they have 3 playing corners, and the larger surface gives me solid tone & better control. The wider sides are perfect for my high-energy pick slides too!” – Sir Rockingham

Solace of Requiem
“I have a unique style of playing with my fingers and a pick. Every other pick I’ve tried tends to slip and fall out of my hands, but not Steve Clayton picks. Maybe it’s magic, but whatever the reason, I’ll never consider another company!” – Jeff Sumrell
“Steve Clayton picks, I can honestly say, are the finest picks money can buy. I have used them for over 20 years. I recommend them to all my fellow guitarists and guitar students. If you want the best, you want a Clayton!” – Richard Gulczynski

The Fabulous Po’ Boys
“We started using Steve Clayton custom picks because of the quality of the products and the variety of materials we could choose from. We continue to use the picks because of the beautiful tone they produce (and the variety of tones because of the characteristics of each material) and the durability. Ed is notoriously hard on picks and Steve Clayton picks never break on him. The soft leather straps are so comfortable no matter how long the gig and the inner-lock straps are pure genius — a strap 100% secure with only leather touching your guitar.”

Tony Musallam of Restrayned
“I have been using Clayton picks for the past four years. They are, in my opinion, the best on the market. My favorite is the Delrin 1.0 picks. They provide me with a sharp attack and a non-slip grip. No more worrying about losing your pick in the middle of a fast run. They are also very durable! Most picks don’t last through a rehearsal. But the Clayton Delrin picks last for several rehearsals without grinding down. I will never use another pick.”

Trapped In Static
We started using the Steve Clayton acetal custom guitar picks as a way to promote the band. Once we ordered the first ones, I decided to try them out and since then I have been using them in performing as well. I have used tons of different picks in the past but the feel on these ones is perfect. Fans also love the idea since its something small and yet includes all the info you need, band’s website, logo and twitter 😉 – smart way to expand our fanbase, they go away fast. The picks and the print is pretty durable and many fans and friends have also used it as a jewelry (necklace and bracelet) – cant ask more then that! Thank you Steve Clayton!

Willy Braun of Reckless Kelly
“I’ve been using Steve Clayton picks for years. they’re durable, they’re easy to hang on to, they look cool and they sail well when I toss em’ at the crowd! I once had a sound man tell me that my pick hit him in the chest from over 100 feet away. Try doing that with a cheesy light pick!”
