Confirmed consists of Donna Anast on lead vocals, Michael Anast on guitar and vocals, on drums, Steve Fox Angel on bass and vocals and Robert Sweet of Stryper is guest drumming with Confirmed on 4 songs off their album “Defining the Lens”.

The band incorporates its hard hitting music into their energetic live show opening for national acts such as Thousand Foot Krutch, Love and Death (featuring Brian “Head” Welch of KORN), Righteous Vendetta, Stryper, 12 Stones, Trapt, Mushroomhead, The Letter Black, Nine Lashes and many more.

Chris Wilhelm

Products Used: Custom Black Celluloid Picks

Clayton picks allow me to be creative on and off the stage. Having our artwork beautifully printed on the picks gives us a more professional look, and using such a resilient product during a long guitar solo certainly makes my job easier! I feel confident playing anything knowing I’ve got a Clayton hitting the strings.

Chris Wilhelm, of The Doctors & The Lawyers, has been pushing the boundaries of the musical world since birth. His primary instrument is the guitar, which he first picked up at the age of 10. Chris is also a singer and plays the keyboard, bass, drums, mandolin, banjo, violin and ukulele. He is the lead guitarist for The Doctors and The Lawyers, a band that is currently self-producing its first full-length album.

The Doctors and The Lawyers is an electro/funk/jam band founded in early September of 2011 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Most recently, TDTL performed at the 2014 Wakarusa Music Festival in Ozark, Arkansas alongside acts such as The String Cheese Incident, The Flaming Lips, Moon Taxi, Papadosio, and others.

The group consists of five members, formed through relationships made by random freshman dorm placement and developed because of each member’s collective musical vision. From The Black Keys to Papadosio, Moon Taxi to Led Zeppelin, the musical influences of the group continue to expand and evolve just as fluidly as the sound of the group’s original material.

With the added surprises improvisational music breaks throughout their shows, The Doctors and The Lawyers never puts on the same performance twice. The group engages its audience by both recognizing and appreciating the diversity of musical preferences that can be present in large crowds. Though the band got its name because the members are currently studying to become doctors, lawyers, and the like, their true passion lies in the collaboration and creation of a truly unique music experience.

Ben Horsley of Nishi

Products Used: Clayton Custom Acetal standard 0.80mm picks and Pro Shine Guitar Polish.

“When it comes to equipment I use, I’m a very fussy man. Constantly altering my picks to suite my playing. But not with Steve Clayton picks, they seemed to be made to suit me.”

Being a lad from Birmingham UK, I was raised to some very varied forms of music. It wasn’t until I decided to dig deeper in the music of Brum that I found bands such as Wizard, Slade and for me, most importantly… Black Sabbath.

I can’t be like the greats without having the right people. With Nishi I can’t get any better! words are only assembled letters when it comes to explaining us, I guess you will just have to listen.

Dean Johanesen

Products Used: My first order of custom picks was with the White Derlin .8 gauge picks. I ordered those as a special gift to send out with my Kickstarter rewards packages and the response was great from those. I used the picks myself from that order for a good solid year for playing as well as giving out for promotion.

In 2013 I was accepted for an endorsement from the good folks at Clayton USA and I ordered a new round of celluloid picks in black at the 1.0 gauge with a revamped version of my logo.

I have enjoyed using these picks as well as giving them out to friends and fans. The extra bonus of the custom picks in my Kickstarter rewards packages was very well received too. The picks have held up really well, especially with the amount of shows I am doing which is typically 3-4 nights a week and I plan on trying out more of the materials Clayton offers with different logo designs to keep the look and feel of things moving and changing along with the imagery and sound of my music.

“I have been using the custom picks now since 2012 and have not used any other pick since then. They have been great to use for my promotional items (surprise gifts in my Kickstarter reward packages, hand outs at gigs etc.) and they have held up great and seem to have stuck around longer than any other picks I have owned too. Great job Clayton and thank you for your support.”

Originally from New York, accomplished singer/songwriter/guitarist Dean Johanesen has made his home in many parts of the US including, Indiana, Nevada, Georgia and now residing in Florida.

Johanesen’s mother delivered motor homes when he was young and the family traveled around listening to many different artists and kinds of music. Led Zeppelin to Simon and Garfunkel, classic country to musical soundtracks provided the soundtrack to his youth and his diversity of influences had an effect on Johanesen’s interests musically as well as giving him a feel for the road.

After relocating to Florida following a stint of living and performing in Atlanta, Johanesen fronted The Human Condition, a well-regarded acoustic-based rock group that touched on elements of country, Americana, and singer-songwriter influences. The group’s final line up incorporated elements musically that had the band taking part in “jamband” based festivals combining Johanesen’s songwriting instincts with elements of the band’s improvisational strengths.

In 2013, Johanesen released his first solo record with intentions of getting back to the importance of the storyteller songwriting format while a recent passion for gypsy jazz music in the vein of Django Reinhardt has put Johanesen on a musical path with a focus on new stories of old times. Non fictional characters from the ‘20s and ‘30s, circus performers, the side show, Prohibition, the war of currents all placed in a backdrop of gypsy swing.

Products used: Clayton Custom 1mm picks for every single guitar he plays (which is a custom-shop Gibson baritone Les Paul, a PRS Custom 22, and a vintage S. Yairi acoustic). Clayton lever-lock capos.

“Andrew Wayne of Aurin is honored to be endorsed by Steve Clayton. He has been using their products now for years, and is proud to say that he is a part of the Steve Clayton family!! The quality of Steve Clayton’s guitar picks, especially that of our Aurin custom “Acetal Pick,” are the best in the industry. Make sure you check them out and pick up an Aurin pick at a show! The picks last forever, feel great in your hand (giving maximum control), and allow you to attain that EXACT sound you need!”

Aurin began as a vision of guitarist Andrew Wayne in 2002. Andrew’s goal was to write music that appealed to the mind, heart, soul, and emotions of the listener by combining beautiful harmonies with an in-your-face heavy type of style. In 2009, he was joined by drummer Linda Medina who in college
previously studied under Professional International Jazz Drummer, Karl Latham. In October 2010, Sarah Anderson was informed that the band had been looking for a lead vocalist. Excited about the opportunity, and Aurin’s captivating, eclectic, and powerful sound, Sarah immediately auditioned and became a perfect fit. Growing up, the members of Aurin have all been effected by challenges such as mental illness, poverty, and bullying. Music was the one channel that provided answers, and allowed the members to connect with one another. It is our goal to continue using music as a creative outlet and to keep writing songs that our fans can relate to , says vocalist Sarah Anderson. The band’s Pavement debut is slated for release on October 14th

Aurin is:

  • Sarah Anderson – Vocals
  • Andrew Wayne – Guitar/Vocals
  • Linda Medina – Drums
  • Joe Palamara – Bass

Cole of In Layman Terms

Products Used: Cole loves his custom picks. His favorite is the full-color Acetal with a medium gauge.

“I love my custom Clayton guitar picks! My band’s name and website are printed on them. I use them instead of business cards and throw them into the crowd or hand them out when I meet people. I found out that some of the girls at my school, and kids that come to our concerts collect all of my different designs. I talk to young kids learning to play guitar and they always ask where I get my cool picks from. That is an awesome feeling!”

Cole just finished his freshman year at Berklee College of Music, and looks forward to his sophomore year this fall where he intends on majoring in Music Therapy. He is passionate about the blues, but has diverse musical tastes. His influences include but are not limited to: Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks, Steve Vai, and Jimi Hendrix to name a few. Cole and his sister Logan make up the duo/band, “In Layman Terms,” and have grown up making music together. They are both multi-instrumentalists and love writing original songs. Their unique and diverse sound ranges from gritty, foot-stomping acoustic work, to an electrified big-band sound. There are Americana undertones, and a hint of modern flair in their music. They perform nationally as a duo, as a trio with their mother on washboard and drums, or as a full band which includes trumpet and keys. Cole is a proud inductee into The Brotherhood of the Guitar, an elite group of young guitarists from all over the world, and also appeared in a 2014 issue of Guitar Player Magazine. In Layman Terms released their first full-length CD, Tangled, in 2016, which has been getting national and international airplay since its release. Christopher Fulmer

Products used: For promotional picks for fans and for some songs I use the “Black Celluiod, Standard, 0.50 with our band logo”. I will be ordering more pick types for full time playing with our logo now, probably “Acetal, standard, 0.80 with our band logo and Steve Clayton logo.

“Why I use Steve Clayton…because the picks are designed beautifully with our logo and colors, and look great for the fans. Plus they play and sound wonderful and can take a licking when playing hard like I do. Not many picks can do that.”

Christopher Fulmer is the founding member of Stays In Vegas and the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter.

Christopher has been playing guitar and songwriting since he was 14. Music has always been in and around his life, beginning with his grandfather who was a country/bluegrass guitarist and musician. Christopher eventually picked up the guitar on a bet from a friend to see who could learn the fastest, and he never put it down.

Christopher has played guitar and also some vocals in earlier bands that included Frontal Exposure, Friction, GRIP and short stint in Two Dogs & One Bone and recorded a 3 song solo EP as well. He went on a musical hiatus for a number of years until in 2011 when a friend suggested that they start up a cover band, which became Stays In Vegas. Throughout the years, Christopher has always written songs and poems. His songs range from pure punk rock, to grunge and rock to even acoustic ballads and country/folk numbers. His home has always been with Alternative Rock and Punk.

Stays In Vegas is an Alternative/Indie Rock band from Cabot, AR. Their sound is a mixture of gritty indie-rock, grunge, acoustic rock ballads and some psychedelic flair thrown in as well. They have been related to a mixture of The Black Keys, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and The Strokes. Their first album, Faces For The Moment, is a 10 song LP that illustrates the dynamic flow of genres that the band loves. Their second studio album, Revelations, shows how the band have progressed their sound and become more dynamic across genres through a 15 song LP.

“I’ve been using these picks for the last 4 years and they are by far the best I’ve ever used. They feel so natural and work with the playing style I’ve grown accustom to. When I was searching for the perfect pick in guitar center I stumbled upon Clayton to try out and instantly fell in love. When the opportunity arose to be endorsed I gladly accepted” – Travis

“One day we were in the studio recording and Travis handed me one of his custom clayton picks. When he told me about how easy and how much variety the company had I got excited that I could finally make my own custom pick to my specifications”

Await The Desolation is a Deathcore band from Houston Texas. Formed in 2012 after the dissolution of Travis and Beef’s former bands they were apart of. So far the band has released one EP in 2013 entitled “Crush The World With Your Imagination” and has plans to release a new EP in 2014.

Mike Buffa lead guitar for Brother Grey says “Clayton USA picks are great! They come in tons of cool colors and give us the clarity our music demands!”

Brother Grey is an alternative/hard rock band from Atlanta Georgia that is now into its 3rd year and ending on a high note with the band signing a 3 year deal with Atlanta based Madison Records .

The band has seen the changing of a few members along the way resulting in a very special line up. Erick Thomas

Products used: Clayton Custom standard .73mm guitar picks, chrome socket slide.

“I love the sound I get with the socket slide and heavy gain. It’s that old dirty blues sound that people spend years trying to find. The picks are great also, the .733 are my old faithful’s, and I keep a couple in my pocket at all times because you never know when you’re going to need them.”

Erick Thomas was one of the founding members of the independent rock group Harlen Simple. Since 2001 Thomas has been the primary guitar in the band placing his unique stamp on the group playing everything from fierce blues and rock licks to subtle reggae rhythms behind singer Travis Williams’ driving whisky throat. Thomas also wrote and co-produced the bands 2 EP’s (Rule No. 1, and Pay Up Charlie), 1 acoustic (One for Donna), and 3 full band albums (Free Watson, The Bastard Sons of the Beltway, and The Incident).

Harlen Simple

Founding members of Harlen Simple, guitar player Erick Thomas, and front man, Travis Williams started out small playing open mic nights at local bars in Manassas, Virginia during the summer of 2001. Performing primarily covers of songs mainly from the 60’s to the 90’s the band honed their sound and started to develop a strong following in the Manassas bar scene.

Veteran bassist Kenny Morrow started sitting in with them at these open mic nights, officially joining Erick and Travis in 2003. With the addition of Kenny Morrow the band’s sound really gelled with hints of rock, funk and reggae influences. Drummer Ricky Coleman filled in for a show with the band in 2007 and Harlen Simple never let go.

Citing a wide range of influences Harlen Simple draws their inspiration from classic artists and bands such as the Allman Brothers, Bob Marley, Bill Withers and Freddie King. The diversity of their influences and being that they are there to entertain and play music lends to some of the most electric live shows in local music.

The fact they never write set lists and Erick improvises all of his solos in both their originals and the covers they still perform means that no two Harlen Simple shows are ever the same. Audiences in 100+ different venues up and down the East Coast have been able to witness the singular time a Harlen Simple show was performed the way that audience experienced it.

Harlen Simple has played in venues as little known as Foolio’s in Woodbridge, VA, to as large as RFK Stadium, to as historic as the iconic 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. No venue is too small, or too big for them to play as long as they, in the words of guitarist Erick Thomas, “Drink beer and have fun.”

In October of 2012 the band signed with Potomac Records.

“After trying all of the pick brands out there, I’ve determined that nothing surpasses the consistency, tone, and durability of Clayton picks.”

Bootless is an original Southern country/rock band based in Charleston, South Carolina. The band was formed in 2012 by experienced rock musicians who were too happy to perform typical “angry” rock songs. Thus began Bootless, a successful blend of unmistakable country lyrics, with rock-and-roll swagger.

Their original music ranges from pure country (as per their song Hell On Firewater) to straight up southern rock and roll (heard in the song Rain). Most of their songs are a harmonious mix of the two greatest genres in music today: Country AND Western. Just kidding – but fair warning: lyrical subject matter may include one or more of the following: beer (and not that high-falutin’ craft stuff either!), whiskey, beaches, lifted trucks, boots (or lack thereof), mud slingin’, neck ringin’ and shotgun blasts. You know, real country stuff.

The musicians of Bootless are:

  • Curtis Craven – Lead Vocals, Guitar
  • Jeremy Cone – Drums, Background Vocals
  • Joel Evans – Bass, just Bass
  • Mario Valenta – Lead Guitar, Background Vocals

Bill Cooper

Products Used: Clayton White Delrin picks – Standard shape, 0.80 gauge.

“Clayton guitar picks not only look great, they provide unsurpassed quality. The staff at Clayton USA are very knowledgable and always provide fantastic customer service.”

Bill Cooper is a singer from San Antonio Texas with a growing international fan base.

“My first love has always been music. The urge to perform started when I was 4 years old. It was 1973 and my family was gathered around the TV to watch CBS broadcast Elvis Aloha From Hawaii. I was drawn like a magnet. I grabbed my plastic guitar and stood on the coffee table during the entire show…shaking my leg, etc. I was mesmerized and Elvis’ music was instantly burned into my brain. Not a day went by that I didn’t seek out to listen to one of his songs. Elvis inspired me to sing and his story of growing up poor and rising to the top gave me hope as a child who also grew up in very modest surroundings.

I started singing publicly in high school when some friends of mine started a little 50’s band called “Danny and the Memories.” We listened to every song from the 50’s and 60’s when others were into Culture Club.

Singing followed me to college where I sang in every performing ensemble while attending school so I could qualify for a music scholarship (I paid my own way through school). I was in heaven soaking up soaking up Puccini to Tito Puente like a sponge. Music was therapeutic, it helped me get through tough times. After graduating, I went into the working world and didn’t sing again publicly for 15 years.

The spark that rekindled my drive to sing again was when Lisa Marie Presley released her first CD in 2003, “To Whom It May Concern.” It was inspirational to see someone my age (Lisa and I were both born in ’68) taking that musical leap of faith. I started practicing and visualizing the dream once again.

After years of planning, I finally made it happen. In 2012, I recorded a song called “Wrong Reputation” and released it on iTunes October 2. A second song, “Love Will Leave You Lonely” was released in 2013. The songs, available on most online music outlets, are the first in a series of recordings that will ultimately make up an album.

It’s never too late to pursue your passion.” – Bill Cooper

Brian Grilli

Products used: Custom Ultem and Colored Delrin Picks

“Brian Grilli uses Steve Clayton picks because they are the best and most durable picks on the market and the company stands by their products and their consumers!”

For rising star Brian Grilli, recording and producing a album of songs to showcase his songwriting and musicianship, is a dream come true. Brian’s
song “Letters From An Outlaw” is to be featured on Season 7 of “Sons of Anarchy” and is on Brian’s solo debut album, “Damn Good Day”. Brian who was formerly in Regional Act The Trailerhood, is venturing out into virgin territory as a solo act!

“When I think of all my influences first trying to make it as new artists, they were willing to take risks and try anything and I admire that.” The risks that Brian is willing to take are reflected in the albums eclectic offering. Taking country music even further into the rock arena by busting genres, his tracks have tremendous crossover potential. The album was recorded at Clay Garden Studio in Norfolk, VA with the help of Brad Rosenberg at the helm of the console and mastered by Richard Dodd. It features 11 tracks that have Brian playing all guitars, mandolin, banjo and lap steel. In Brian’s words are “Some of the best songs I’ve written to date.”

Brian describes his own music as fun and youthful while at the same time signifying deep meaning. “Music is about stories. Some of those stories can
be meaningful and still be fun. I never write a song that I think myself or other folks can’t relate to in some way, shape, or form. My music will always reflect who I am.”

A Wounded Veteran, Brian hopes that his music will provide a new means for him to give back to his community. “I would like to give back to other
Wounded Warriors for protecting this country and our freedoms.”

Brian has had the opportunity to perform across the US, from his hometown in Virginia Beach, VA to The Viper Room in Los Angeles. Brian has has
shared bigger stages with Cheap Trick, Sarah Darling, Smithereens, Lucero and Iggy Pop just to name a few. Following his upcoming hometown
performances to perform songs from his new album, Brian will be promoting “Damn Good Day” nationwide with his band The Southern Prophets. Brian
also knows that, with the support of family and friends on his side, anything is possible for him to achieve his goals. “Everyone has dreams…” he states. “I am just going for mine now and giving it my best shot!”

Cask Thomson

Guitarist Cask Thomson is a maverick in the doom rock world. He defines any easy pigeon-hole. By turns, he picks an electric guitar to accompany his ballad, sings a witty song about modern life, plays an eccentric bluesy guitar solo, belts an angry tune and then reaches deep for a soulful expression of values in a troubled world.

As a producer and enthusiast who has worked with several artists in Australia, he has spent many long hours mastering and mixing records as well as providing the graphics designs and artworks for dozens of international bands.

He’s one of the few producers who focuses on 5.1 mixing and giving his recordings a true ‘surround’ feel.

Cask J. Thomson is a multitalented individual who, outside of music, founded an online news editorial ‘WordMean’ as well as a publishing company through which he himself has written and published several works based on his qualifications and experience as a computer scientist.

Products used: Clayton Acetal Rounded Triangle Guitar picks gauge 0.63 & 0.80

“CHEECH has been shredding with Clayton guitar picks for years. Clayton’s Acetal rounded triangle guitar picks fit perfectly in hand for fast licks, chugging rhythms, even heavy bass playing. Claytons stand up to CHEECH’s constant string abuse.” – Joshua Bottomley, guitarist of CHEECH

At the bottom of Boston Harbor amidst the toxic medical refuse and rotting corpses left to decay in the depths, a creature stirs from its slumber. CHEECH, the best-kept secret in Beantown has returned to lay waste to society’s standards.

CHEECH’s debut LP A Day Late and A Dollar Short (2003) was a punk band with a very large chip on its shoulder. Subsequent releases, Keep Your Pimp Hand Strong (2004) and Ante Up (2008), saw the group stumbling further into heavy metal and rock ‘n’ roll territories while still clinging to their disheveled roots. Newest release, Beast From The East (2013) is CHEECH fully immersed in all of its influences, bridging the gap between old school hardcore, d-beat infused thrash metal, and even classic rock.

While many bands in similar genres prefer to don permanent frowns, CHEECH continues to take a more sideways trajectory, covering serious topics as economic upheaval, revenge fantasies, and paranoia with a cynical slang-laden sarcasm rarely seen in such circles.

Don’t let the sense of humor fool you, CHEECH’s Molotov medley is ugly and explosive. Underground aggressive music fans who prefer to dive deep beneath the glossy surface of today’s primped up poster boys, Beast From The East is here to drag you under.
