Amourous Art

Hey Clayton customers! Check out these cool designs that are being submitted by some of our other customers! Both of these picks were designed for weddings, and we love how creative they are! Both are two-sided designs. The top pick design was made on our white pearl material, with full bleed art that almost covers the entirety of the pick, so it gives the appearance of being golden on one side and pink on the other. Of course, both sets of picks display the couple’s name and the wedding date. The second pick design is on our white delrin material, which really makes the red color of the tree pop. Both pick sets will be great as wedding favors that can tie into the wedding theme and impress guests with originality. Are you planning a 2012 wedding? Pick of the Week — A Fable for the Curious

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band A Fable for the Curious. “Formed in 2008, A Fable For The Curious are a hard hitting, killer-riff-ridden four piece hailing from Teesside, North East England. Drawing influence from Metallica’s Black Album era and splicing in the attitude of Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for destruction combined with echoes of Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters, creating fist in the air choruses and heart twisting melodies. Having played shows and festivals alongside the biggest up and coming bands supporting the likes of Young Guns, The Blackout, My Passion, Lower Than Atlantis, Wheatus and Transfer, AFFTC released their debut single in May 2011 Don’t Say Goodbye mixed and mastered by famous Matty O’Grady (You Me At Six/Bring Me The Horizon producer) to whet the appetite of their fans for the forthcoming debut album.
The debut album, titled Ruled, will be released at Xmas 2011 and will be available at all online stores worldwide. Recorded at White Wolf Studios with Ian Thompson, mixed and mastered by James Stephenson Stymphalian Productions and produced by Mark O’Hare (AFFTC Vocalist) Ruled is set tomake waves in the world of rock.” Find out more about the band at http://www.myspace.com/afableforthecurious. What you can say for sure is that they have their own unique sound. Combining catching riffs and amazing guitar solos, it leaves fans energized and wanting more. The band recorded a two-song demo at the end of August of 2011. The songs “Life on the Run” and “Bring Me Down” have quickly gained support from fans around the world. Pick of the Week — 80hD

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band 80hD, “which was formed this summer in order to perform at their North St. Paul, MN high school reunion.  They pulled together four people who graduated in the same year, which was no easy task, considering most of them had not jammed in a long, long time.  And their vocalist, although an accomplished singer, had never been in a band!  The reunion was a success and they decided to continue with their little experiment. A few months later, Bob (guitar) hosted a huge party which included having an opportunity to play at a local bar called the Dugout Bar in Mahtomedi, MN.  Several hundred of their closest friends and family came out to the show – it was a huge success for 80hD and the Dugout Bar! Today, they are playing gigs and drawing crowds none of them could have ever imagined 5 months ago.  Their fan base is already insanely loyal and is growing by the day.  They are having an absolute blast!  Their logo was designed by a high school friend/graphics designer/musician.  And frankly, everyone that sees it says the same thing – “that is an awesome band logo dude!”
80hD is a 5 piece cover band with a female vocalist.  Their music ranges from acoustic KT Tunstall and Amy Winehouse, to full on rock with Van Halen, Pantera, Poison, Blondie, and Nirvana, to name a few.  Their fans enjoy the fact that their lead vocalist can reach such diverse musical ranges, while at the same time creating a pure rock ‘n roll experience!
80hD brings 100% energy and an emphasis of fun to every show they do -they ensure that their audience feels like they are they true rock stars :) ”  Their Website: theband80hd.com Their Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/theband80hd. Here is a testimony from guitarist Bob, who ordered the custom guitar picks for the band: “I was looking to purchase customized guitar picks for our new band 80hD, and simply did a Google search to find the company.  The ease-of-use of the design interface allowed me to quickly create, design, and purchase our unique pick.  And the subsequent customer service has been tremendous…thank you!” -Bob  The 80hD guitar picks were made on our white delrin guitar pick material, which worked out really well with their full color logo.  To order your own customized picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com today!

Pick of the Week — Psyko Circus

This week’s Pick of the Week is for a KISS tribute band from Gilbert, Arizona, called PSYKO CIRCUS. “Needless to say, they wear the makeup and the ‘Rock the Nation’ costumes. They play some of the well known KISS classics from the 70′s. You can find their youtube channel psykocircusband, which has a couple of videos (more to come) and their website which is under construction at www.psykocircus.com.
They are having a great time entertaining people and looking like their heroes while doing it!”  Clayton customer and Psyko Circus band member Gabriel Velasco says “Thanks to you guys (Clayton, USA) I can be like my heroes and have my very own personal guitar picks (any musician feels special having his own personalized guitar picks).” Gabe’s customized guitar picks were made on our white delrin material, which really makes the red-to-yellow gradient in the design pop. Pick of the Week — Fragile Apples

This week’s Pick of the Week was designed for the band Fragile Apples. We liked the simplicity and creativity of the design..the bold black graphic works out really well on our white delrin picks. Benjamin Olson and The Fragile Apples from Nashville, TN are an independent Rock ‘N’ Roll band who have the direct mission of making live music fun again! Involving as many fun characters as possible, as well as combining soaring vocals with killer guitars and grooves, The Fragile Apples are dancing their way into the hearts of those who join them at their concerts (parties). In addition to steady touring, Olson released his 4th studio album, “You Are Here” in 2010 and was featured on the Roy Orbison tribute album “Under The Covers” with his version of “Working For The Man.” Join them on Facebook for updates, pictures, videos and more: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Benjamin-Olson/20895138280?v=wall&viewas=0

Rock Your Wedding!

This week at Steve Clayton, Inc., we had a really nice design submitted by a customer for guitar picks for his wedding. We wanted to write a blog about it, simply because the art is really cool! As you can see, the artwork includes a guitar, flames, roses, and the date of the wedding. The colors go really nicely together, and look awesome on our white delrin guitar pick material. The other side of the pick has the same design, but with the name of the happy couple instead of the date. Custom guitar picks can make a unique addition to any wedding. They are already pretty popular, but we want even more people to know about this option! This is why we have created a new website: customweddingpicks.com. This site is designed specifically to help out customers that are interested in custom wedding picks. We are always looking for more ideas to add to the site too! If you have photos of your custom picks from your wedding, or a cool wedding pick design like the one shown here, or have any questions about wedding picks, please write to us at weddingpicks@steveclayton.com. To start designing your picks, visit claytoncustom.com!

Pick Art

We have had some customers submit some really cool pick art recently, and we wanted to show off these designs! All of them are very colorful, and they were created using various types of artwork. The pick on the far left was made using a cartoon image, on our white delrin picks. The center pick has a painting on it, which appears 3D on our white pearl picks. The pick on the far right uses a nice photo of northern lights to create a unique look. For full color art such as the designs shown here, we offer three different white pick materials that can support these types of designs. This image is a great way to compare how the three types of white picks (white delrin, white pearl, and acetal) are different from each other. Also, we have two picks in this image (the  two outside picks) that demonstrate use of the full bleed option. Choosing full bleed for your custom picks means that the design will go all the way to the edge of the pick and not have a border. Create your own custom pick design today at www.claytoncustom.com!
