This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band A Fable for the Curious. “Formed in 2008, A Fable For The Curious are a hard hitting, killer-riff-ridden four piece hailing from Teesside, North East England. Drawing influence from Metallica’s Black Album era and splicing in the attitude of Guns N’ Roses’ Appetite for destruction combined with echoes of Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters, creating fist in the air choruses and heart twisting melodies. Having played shows and festivals alongside the biggest up and coming bands supporting the likes of Young Guns, The Blackout, My Passion, Lower Than Atlantis, Wheatus and Transfer, AFFTC released their debut single in May 2011 Don’t Say Goodbye mixed and mastered by famous Matty O’Grady (You Me At Six/Bring Me The Horizon producer) to whet the appetite of their fans for the forthcoming debut album.
The debut album, titled Ruled, will be released at Xmas 2011 and will be available at all online stores worldwide. Recorded at White Wolf Studios with Ian Thompson, mixed and mastered by James Stephenson Stymphalian Productions and produced by Mark O’Hare (AFFTC Vocalist) Ruled is set tomake waves in the world of rock.” Find out more about the band at http://www.myspace.com/afableforthecurious. Their custom guitar picks were made on our white delrin guitar pick material, which looks great with their eye-catching black logo. Guns Out At Sundown is a band based out of Western Maryland, finding its beginnings in 2007 with the name LenorAstray. Original line-up included: Jamie Peterson-bass/lead vox, Mike Dennis-guitar, Nathaniel Raley-guitar, and Trav Hensley- drums. Shortly after, we introduced long-time, childhood friend Christopher Tepper to drums, and moved Trav to lead vocals. After many discussions, and a drive for more, the band changed its genre to create a heavier sound. In 2008, Nick Miller joined the band to fill the position of guitarist, but left the band after recording our first professional demo. In 2009, we added Ryan Crosco to the roster. The band recorded its full-length album entitled, “The Comfort In Chaos”with Johnny Burke at Chin Music Studios in Cleveland, Ohio (www.reverbnation.com/vibestudios) in November of that year, but due to a few personal issues, the band took hiatus, planning to return stronger than ever once our lives were back on track. In early 2011, Ryan Crosco decided to leave the band, with Nick Miller rejoining and filling the slot. Now, with a new name, and our final puzzle piece, Andrew Hill on bass, we’re back. Look for the album to release independently soon, along with a music video with FBS Films, and brand new merch.
Ultem material guitar picks are the ultimate in quality! Even on dull strings, these picks are sure to create crisp, clean tones. The sound of these picks is meant to resemble that of true tortoiseshell picks, but, unlike real tortoiseshell, they are not susceptible to fractures. These are some of the strongest picks on the market, and you will be sure to love the bright sounds that they produce! They are available in eight different gauges. They are tan in color, and available with the Clayton eagle logo in white epoxy (http://www.steveclayton.com/ultem.php), or for customization (http://www.claytoncustom.com)! They are also offered in three different shapes including standard, rounded triangle, and small teardrop.
We have a really cool picks and a really cool band this week! This lovely pick is by the band Stephanie & THREE, which is local to Clayton, Inc. here in Southern Oregon. I love the shades of pink on the pick, and the design is just way to cool! Stephanie & THREE is an aggressive Rock ‘n’ Power-Pop Trio, that plays in clubs and venues throughout the Northwest. We always love seeing local bands being successful. I posted a video below so that you can really see how awesome this band is! Make sure to check out their website to find out where you can catch their next performance. www.threemusic.net
This week we have a different style of pick. This is a full black overbleed on our Acetal material. It looks like a black pick, but it actually is white on the other side. This is a great option because you get the look of a black pick, but it is printed on our popular Acetal material. We really loved Eldebrock’s design, plus they are an endorsed band here at Clayton. They have a very cool website at: www.eldebrock.net. Really, it is quite impressive there is some amazing flash animation on their site. They currently have just released their debut album, which can be downloaded on iTunes. Their music is really unique, and they have clips of it on their website, so make sure to listen. The band Eldebrock took shape in the early spring of 2009 when founding member, Del Bannerman(rhythm guitar), along with Richard Lalonde (bass guitar), recruited Jay Wegenast from Vancouver B.C. as the lead singer. The spring and summer of 2009 was spent in a small town in Saskatchewan writing the music for the debut album. Barrett Moore (lead guitar), who grew up with Jay in Forestburg, Alberta joined in late 2009 adding his own touch of Zakk Wylde and Slash influenced lead guitar to the tracks that finished off the sound they were going for.

Sometimes, one type of custom pick just isn’t enough. Steve Clayton, Inc. customers often choose to order several different varieties of custom picks with the same, or similar, designs. Shown in this image are examples of guitar picks that have been ordered in sets so that there was not a limitation of one pick type. The first set of picks in the image has three different animation designs, printed in different colors on white pearl, ultem and orange delrin picks. They customer even tried different shapes…using standard and small teardrop. The second set is a great example for advertising because they used the same face with different hairstyles on different colors of our colored delrin picks. The third set was done on our red delrin and ultem picks which look really nice together because of the color continuity. For the fourth set of picks, the customer submitted a cute autumn leaf design and had it done on our green and orange delrin picks, which are perfect for the fall season! Themed picks can also be a great option for a band, because then each band member can choose the pick material, gauge, and shape that he or she wants and have the same logo on all of the picks. Or, you can get the same pick with the band logo, and have different band member names on each set. So, don’t limit yourself to just one type of custom guitar pick…order several! We can always give you a combined shipping for your orders as well Happy desigining! www.claytoncustom.com
Here at Clayton, we offer three different white picks for custom design, including white delrin, acetal, and white pearl. If you are looking for a classy pick that is great for playing, or for use as a promotional tool, white pearl is optimal. Our white pearl picks have glossy finish, and they are marbleized, so they automatically have the “upscale look.” White pearls can be great with either single or full color designs, as shown in the image below. White pearl picks are also very popular for weddings, since they look nice and can support a design with any color in it. Our white pearl picks are available in six gauges ranging from a very thin .38 to an extra heavy 1.26. There are also two different shapes available for white pearl picks; standard (left pick in photo) and rounded triangle (right pick in photo). Design your white pearl pick on our custom website today!
