Pick of the Week – John Karl

This week we selected a guitar pick by country artist John Karl.  He designed this amazing pick on our white delrin material. We love the detailed design and beautiful shades of blue.  Below is a bio about this talented artist:
“John was a success before even moving to Nashville. Nominated for North East CMA Entertainer of the Year and Best Male Vocalist, John has had a No. 1 on the MP3.com country chart with “There Goes the Neighborhood” and “Small Town” was featured in the movie American Reunion. “If you want to know where country is headed, just give a listen to John Karl,” says Rodney Phelps, a top Nashville attorney who also worked with Garth Brooks and Chris Cagle

John won the local Colgate Country Showdown in Upstate NY and had a song on Christian Country Radio with “Just Love Her” in 2003. He has toured the USA and opened for acts Ricochet, Daryl Worley and Craig Morgan just to name a few. He has played lots of festivals, including Nashville’s CMA Festival and was the house artist in 2008 at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.

John Karl is the next big thing, with the right attitude, music, and performance style. He can get wild and pull out a tear-jerker right behind it. He knows what the fans want and he gives it to them.
Growing up in Niskayuna, N.Y., John has loved music all of his life and began singing at a young age. After high school he studied Graphic Design, was part of a professional water-ski team called the Coors Light U.S. Water-ski Show Team where he produced and performed the show and was a local Club DJ. While singing at a ski team function, a local funder made him an offer he could not refuse and helped him go to Nashville.

John moved to Nashville on Labor Day of 2002. He spent the next two years learning everything he could about the Nashville music business. He networked and got into writing circles and formed the duo Kalamity Jane. Soon after John went solo and began work on his self-produced album Redneck Rich Hillbilly Happy, released 2007.

As singer/songwriter John has a knack for a well turned phrase and is looking forward to his new CD “Are You Ready For This”. Due out in late August 2010.”

Wedding Picks

Here at Clayton, Inc. we have noticed that many people choose Clayton custom picks to add a little flare to their wedding receptions. Some picks simply include the name of the couple and

the date, while others choose to add matrimonial graphics. We even have a special section in our online custom designer that has images specifically for wedding picks. More durable than anything printed on paper, the custom wedding picks are the perfect favors to give out that will help your guests remember your special day. Shown here are a few examples of the wedding

picks that we love, printed on white delrin and acetal. Also, our own employee Rob chose to design picks for his brother’s wedding (shown at right on light blue pearl)and he says that his brother and sister-in-law

both loved the picks and appreciated the originality of the idea. If you are looking for a fun addition to your wedding, consider custom picks from Clayton!

Clayton Custom Pick of the Week!

Here at Clayton, Inc, we have decided to feature a custom pick each week from now forward! We think this is a great way to showcase many of the great picks we make for bands every day.  Keep checking in each week to see a new featured pick and band from us.

This week we selected a pick we made for the Nancy Kenyon Band.  We loved how colorful and detailed this pick turned out on our white delrin .80mm material. It is a great example that shows what amazing detail and color we can produce onto a guitar pick.  We also enhanced this pick by using glossy ink to really make the graphic “pop” on the pick. We had a great time learning more about Nancy Kenyon and her high energy female country style.   She has been doing acoustic style shows for over 15 years! Now within the past few years she has a full band and is starting to do big venues. Her next notable show will be at Jillian’s in Albany, NY, which will be an after party for Carrie Underwood’s Albany concert.  It begins at 11pm if any of you are interested in seeing this amazing band! Hot Stamp Foil Picks

Clayton fans have you tried our new hot stamp foil picks?  Just below to the right you’ll notice I have shared some of the styles people have come up with recently. What makes the picks unique is the foil provides a shiny look that catches the eye. There are many colors to choose from for the picks. For the foil color options you may choose our popular silver, gold, red, or purple foil. The hot stamp foil picks are definitely a popular item because of the sleek looking material and bright foil. The hot stamp foil picks take generally 4-6 weeks to produce, but when finished you’ll see the amazing quality! If you would like to learn more about our custom picks give us a call at 877.752.9484

Eric Church 2010 Tour Picks

Eric Church is one of our endorsed artists and we just wanted to let you know he is one of country’s hardest working artists. We could say working a little bit too hard after last fall.   While performing in New York, he was stomping so hard on stage that he hurt his ankle. He still finished the show and is ready to set the stage for his 2010 tour with our Clayton custom picks. Here are the picks you might get at one of his shows if you’re lucky. He’s already sold out for this Thursday’s show at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.  Church’s picks are the white pearl rounded triangle with the gauge at 1mm.  The white delrin 1mm standard pick is another choice for Church. He has a top 10 hit with his song “Love Your Love the Most,”
one of his songs on his new Carolina album. Another big hit on the album is “Hell On the Heart.” Eric is a rising star that we are excited to follow this year. We look forward to supporting Eric Church during his 2010 tour.

If you are an artist that is also interested in becoming endorsed by us, you may mail us information regarding record label, band picture, tour schedule, and type of Clayton picks you use. There is a full list of information you can find through our contact information on our Steve Clayton website. Any questions you have for us you may email to questions@steveclayton.com.

Angry Shadow

Fans be sure to check out the new endorsed artist Angry Shadow.  Here is a clip for you to enjoy .  While I checked out the bands website I found one video you’ll have to see for yourself called “The Eruption by Bryan G. Jackasski”   We are happy to support them with our unique custom picks.  I was very happy with how well the Angry Shadow’s picks came out.  You can find out more band info with their website AngryShadow.com.

How long was that line???

I have been asked so many times how long our line was at NAMM to meet Kyle Gass.  We do know that it spanned a couple of isles and was extremly long. We were lucky enough to recently obtain some video footage that shows at least half of the length of the line. The other half of the line goes to the right, and was broken up in order to allow traffic to flow by. Click on the picture below to view the Quicktime movie.

Moe’s Southwest Grill Picks, Mmmmm!

We made a ton of picks for the yummy Moe’s Southwest Grill last week. One of our specialties is making very tight deadlines. These picks were make to promote their www.beadeadringer.com site. Moe’s is holding a contest to forever me immortalized on their walls.  If you look like a rock star then you can win! So check out the site and submit your photo! If you really like their picks you can buy some of them from the merchandise section of their website along with some t-shirts!
