Pink Elephants on Parade

I personally love elephants so I had to show off this cool custom guitar pick design! These picks were made for musical artist Florent Mothe.

Florent’s first album “ROCK IN CHAIR” is currently available on iTunes for download, or to Elephantspurchase as a CD in France. Here is a link for iTunes : http://bit.ly/Mothe_RIC
Official Website is www.florentmothe.com
Official facebook page is : www.facebook.com/florentmotheofficiel

Official Twitter account : @florentmotheoff
We love the whimsical design of the picks. Also, note how the picks look like they are yellow, but they are actually white pearl in base. The “full bleed” print option was utilized, meaning that the yellow background extends all the way to the edge of the pick, making it look like it is actually a yellow pick. This is a great option if you are wanting to print multiple colors, but still have the look of a colored pearl pick, because our true colored pearl material can only support black ink designs.

Ssss Snake Picksssss

Check out these custom picks made for the band Nest of Snakes!

NestThe design is a simple black artwork, and it was made on our yellow delrin pick material. Even thought the colors are basic, we liked the intricacy of the design and how it fits really well into the pick shape…they just look cool!

“Nest of Snakes is a trophy case of local talent. It consists of Jason Boten formerly of Superchief, who plays guitar and sings, Larry Enos who also plays with Sons of Walter on bass, Tom Brighton who splits his time with September on guitar and vox, and drummer Derek Deutramont who was formerly with the Albino Spiders.

Their sound is heavy but not all-encompassing. It’s composed of a variety of different influences from all over the rock and roll map. The two tracks I heard brought to mind such classic acts as Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, but I also heard glimpses of early Soundgarden and Motorhead. Despite having a heavy foundation, the music is also rich with melodies, a trait that sometimes gets lost in the Des Moines metal scene.”

For a Rainy Day…

Check out these cool picks! We loved the blue Flotsam design that was submitted for custom guitar picks by the band Treading Lemmings. This art was printed on our acetal guitar picks, which work great for graphics that include color backgrounds that cover most of the guitar pick, such as the blue background in this design. We also liked how the fine detail in the creative logo turned out so well, even on small guitar picks!

In March 2013, The Treading Lemmings released “Flotsam”. The EP serves up five delicious new tunes. Much more akin to a fine dining experience than a to trip to the local diner;”Flotsam” provides depth, complexity, sweetness at times, and occasional bitterness for balance. With the typical lyrical finesse of Christopher Quinn, this project was also spiced up by some special guests: Nashville fiddle ace, Kurt Baumer, played on a homage to Keith Moon in “Goodnight Moon,” and inter-continental arrangement help was provided by the Dentists’ (seminal 90s Brit-pop) Bob Collins on “Doing Time On Placid Drive.”

The custom guitar picks were created and ordered by Clayton customer Andy Hunt (aka Ricky), who plays rhythm (Rickenbacker) guitar for The Treading Lemmings. With the release of the new vinyl EP “Flotsam”, he wanted a new promotional pick to toss from stage. He worked with artist Carl Yonder www.carlyonder.com to take his artwork from “Flotsam” and turn it into a guitar pick design using the Clayton custom design tool.

Pick of the Week — Boss Fight

This week’s Pick of the Week is for the band Boss Fight.
Boss Fight is a 4-piece (Kevin, Steve, John and Mikee) band from Chicago that plays pop punk.
Boss Fight formed only about 9 months ago, and they played their first show on January 13th of this year (at the Subterranean in Chicago).
According to band member Mikee, the Boss Fight music tastes contrast pretty strongly, so in the end they have an interesting blend of explosive pop punk riffs and more ambient bridge/breakdown segments. Mostly, they say it’s just a blast to play and they hope that the crowds of future shows enjoy listening to it as much as they love to play it.
The pick design is one that Mikee essentially cropped from the event poster for the show. Mikee says that “the artist, the lovely and talented Marina Kozak, did a damn good job on the original. Her portfolio is here: www.marinakozak.carbonmade.com. She’s not actually in the band, but she’s decided to be our artist anyway!”
To learn more about Boss Fight, visit:
The event page for their last show: http://www.facebook.com/events/431855570201026/
We love the variety of color and graphic appeal of the Boss Fight design that was used for their custom picks. The material chosen for this order was our Clayton white carbonate pick type, which is a glossy finish bright white pick. To order your own custom picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com.

Pick of the Week — Heitor Crespo

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for musical artist Heitor Crespo.
Heitor Crespo is a guitarist from Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has played the guitar since he was 7 years old, and he specializes in Elvis Presley music. Since he was 11 years old, he shared the stage with Elvis Impersonators in Brazil, and in 2009 he got the chance to play in the USA. He played with the Fever Band during this time, one of the best Elvis Tribute bands known.
In 2012 he got the chance to share the stage with Shawn Klush (the first Ultimate Tribute Artist by Elvis Presley Enterprises), Justin Shandor (winner of the Ultimate Tribute Artist 2010) and The Fabulous Ambassadors on his tour in Chile. They played for a sold-out Movistar Arena in Santiago and in the casino Enjoy Vina del Mar. The original Elvis female backing vocals performed on this tour too (The Sweet Inspirations).
During the past year, after another sucessful tour in Chile (Santiago, Rinconada, Coquimbo and Vina del Mar), Heitor had the chance to play at the famous Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, NV, at the Heart of the King Festival with Shawn Klush, The Fabulous Ambassadors, The Sweet Inspirations and The Blackwood Quartet.
Upcoming Concert Dates:
June 22nd – Jacksonville, Florida.
July 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th – Las Vegas Heart Of the King

Shown above is a shot from Heitor’s last Chile tour, in Santiago.

We loved the classic rock style of Heitor’s red and black custom guitar pick design, which turned out wonderfully on our acetal material guitar picks. We think it is a design that is reminiscent of the Elvis style, and a perfect fit for Heitor.

Pick of the Week — Standby Anchors

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band Standby Anchors.

The members of Standby Anchors are old enough to know better, but young enough to not care.  The band offers amped-up power-pop with a dark side for those about to rock.  The current line up of the band is:  Mike Devine (lead vocals, guitar), Brent Anderson (drums), Bryan Scrivener (bass), and Phil Anderson (lead guitar, vocals).  Standby Anchors is based in Kansas City and plays original songs that are best characterized as modern alternative/indie rock with a definite appreciation for alt rock sounds of the 80s and 90s through the present day.  Members of the band have appeared in earlier projects that have toured across the United States and that have released records on indie labels.

Pick of the Week — EOS

This week’s Pick of the Week is for the band EOS:

Featuring a whopping eleven-piece band, its four sizzling female singers put this group way over the top in the best of ways. The band features lead guitarist Joe “Ciid” Birardi, rhythm guitarist Bill Tuohy as well as bassist Wendy Williamson, and third guitarist Kevin Losardo. Add drummer Brian Picardi, percussionist Gerry Mac, and keyboardist Andy Ilyinsky and you have a full stage of rock and roll veterans that put on an unstoppable show.

Birardi’s “big” idea stemmed from watching the same old delivery in club after club where the music was governed by the stereotypical four-piece format. The EOS frontline is impressive indeed. Made up of Theresa Wilson, Dawn Szollar, Danielle Zelenak and Patti Ogletree, the four dynamic beauties spin rock and roll harmony between shifting lead vocal duties while the band holds it down behind them and it’s never a dull moment.

EOS has worked closely with several New Jersey charities including: Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, The NJ Elks Army of Hope, Operation Jersey Cares, and The Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski II Foundation. Thanks to you, they have been able to raise nearly $20K for these causes to date.   All proceeds from their downloaded songs will be donated to our troops via Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon.  EOS thanks you for your support! Find out more about EOS at www.eosrocks.com!

The EOS picks were made on our white pearl material, using the full bleed option that allows their design to fill the pick to the edge. We love the detail of their design, and the pearl is a great material to support the variety of warm color tones. Order your own custom picks today at www.claytoncustom.com!

Pick of the Week — Captain Ivory

This week’s Pick of the Week is for the band Captain Ivory; a Detroit-based, high energy rock band, that is putting their own spin on Motor City Rock N’ Roll.  The group pulls inspiration from many different rock artists, including Led Zeppelin, the Kings of Leon, and fellow Detroiter Jack White.  The combination of many different styles and genres makes their live show something to behold, and the band is quickly gaining traction in the Midwest.  They just completed a live album recorded all in one take at Groovebox Studios, Detroit.  The songs, along with videos and other information can be found on their website: http://captainivory.com

The Captain Ivory guitar picks were made on our white delrin pick material, and we appreciated the high level of detail and artistic quality in their logo. To order your own custom printed guitar picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com today!

PS, be on the lookout for our next sale…we will be posting a blog with the discount code soon!
