Jon: “I worked at a music store for years and after trying nearly every pick out there I found that the Rounded Acetal Triangle pick provided me with the flexibility, grip, and durability I need.”
Brandon: “In a pile of picks, I will always find the Clayton.”
Jon Napoles and Brandon Freeman are a couple of transplants who fortuitously met in Fresno, CA. After years of dwelling in the same circle of musicians, fate (and stubbornness) would bring the two together as the last remaining full time musicians of the group. One fateful August day the two gathered every piece of equipment between them and songs almost began writing themselves. Thus, Cloudship was born.
Since then the duo has played over a hundred shows, self-released two EPs and two music videos, sold over 500 units at shows and obtained an endorsement deal with Clayton. Their signature mix of modern rock, Americana and electronic has quickly made them a force to be reckoned with, especially among young indie bands.

THE GHOST WOLVES
“… Some of the most corpulent, room-filling distortion I’ve ever heard…. in my book The Ghost Wolves win the award for most badass, face-melting tone” –– Premier Guitar
The Ghost Wolves’ name mirrors the ferocious, primal sounds the Austin, Texas duo conjure from drums (Jonny Wolf) and guitar (Carley Wolf), and acknowledges Carley’s upbringing among hybrid wolves on her family’s ranch. The duo take inspiration from a variety of American styles – blues, rock n’ roll, swamp-boogie – and spin it into a hybrid they’ve dubbed “stomp n’ roll.”
The band formed in 2010 and released their first EP, In Ya Neck, in 2011, followed by the seven-inch, Getchya Hip Thrust, before signing to Plowboy Records in 2014 and releasing the album, Man, Woman, Beast, recorded at Austin’s famed Arlyn Studios.
The duo have collaborated in the studio and on stage with Bushwick Bill (Geto Boys), Johnny Vidacovich (New Orleans’ drumming legend), and BP Fallon (Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, T-Rex, Thin Lizzy). The Ghost Wolves are constantly creating new music videos, art, and custom stage wear, but they are best known for their infectious on-stage chemistry, relentless touring, and raw energy, with over 1000 shows delivered and counting.
In 2014 alone the band played SXSW, Psych Fest, Ireland’s Electric Picnic, plus their first European tour dates. Japanese cult fashion line, Hysteric Glamour, flew them to Tokyo to play their 30th Anniversary event. The Ghost Wolves’ complete music catalog and custom merchandise were carried exclusively in Hysteric Glamour’s Japanese stores for the entire 2014-2015 winter season. Revered global fashion house, Perry Ellis, used an instrumental version of The Ghost Wolves’ song “Gonna Live” for a behind-the-scenes look at Michael Maccari’s debut collection for Fashion Week in New York City last fall. “Shotgun Pistol Grip,” recorded on Carley’s vintage one-string guitar and one of several live during which Jonny plays drums with his feet and left hand – while playing an analog synthesizer with his right – has been featured on the hit TV series Shameless.“Dangerous Moves” was used in Oxygen’s Bad Girl’s Club and in the over-the-top trailer for Japanese martial arts film, Why Don’t You Play in Hell? “Attack Attack Attack” was heard on MTV’s Real World: Explosion, “Itch” on Oxygen’s Funny Girls, and Oxygen’s Best Ink used “Gonna Live” and “Baby Fang Thang.”

The Reed brothers have finally united to create music together after twelve years of being 3000 miles apart. Phil Reed moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2013 and joined forces with Aaron Reed in a project dubbed “Buckle Rash”. Playing around with their not so high-energy solo creations they developed something entirely different on the side. Musical tastes for both have changed over the years and evolved into a medley of folk/bluegrass/pop/country and so on… Focusing on tight harmonies and pretty riffs The Brothers Reed want to bring you a unique listening experience that never sits on one musical spectrum for too long. Whether you’re into blues, rock, folk, or soft roots country, The Brothers Reed are sure to deliver nerve hitting tunes in a most simple format.
“The Brothers Reed — Aaron Reed and Philip Reed — have received positive responses from audiences since the two members of local band Buckle Rash started their side project a few months ago.”
-Laurie Heuston – The Mail Tribune
“It’s true we’re not very deep into the new year yet, but the bottom line is that Sick As Folk is easily 2015’s best local album to date, and The Brothers Reed have set a pretty high bar for other local artists hitting the studio this year.”

WINNERS OF THE 2011 VRMA AWARD FOR “BEST SHOCK ROCK”
In early 2011 a band of miscreants came crawling from the darkest corners of sin city nevada. This pack of the undead and some not so dead come from many different genres of the unimaginable, yet their styles mesh seamlessly. They have an aggressive, hard, gritty edge that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. I.D.S.F.A. released their first full length self titled CD in September of 2013 with songs about revenge, death, mayhem, and zombies, that is just the tip of the iceberg.
And if the music wasn’t enough to make you’re pubic hairs curl, the stage show is not to be missed either. along with their side-kicks “The Bio-Bastards”, I.D.S.F.A. is whipping up a frenzy with a new and exciting show. it’s filled with drum beating zombies, an 8-foot anti-aircraft gun, washed up sea creatures from the japan tsunami, plus much much more. But wait, There’s more. The only Bleeding Bass guitar in existence is sure to make your jaw drop.
I.D.S.F.A. consists of Knuckletooth on vocals, Travesty on the Bleeding Bass, Dr. Skum on the drums, R.I.P. on guitar and The Bio Bastards with their on stage antics.

“Clayton USA, I picked you because you are the best”
Born and raised in Libya, Tripoli, to Italians parents, it’s no wonder that music was a constant in Frank’s life. At the tender age of six, Frank’s family would move to Rome (his mother’s birthplace), where he was inspired by the sounds of his father’s music. An avid accordion player, Frank was moved by the romantic tunes produced by his father, and their effects can be heard in Frank’s music even today.
By the time the family immigrated to the United States, at age eight, Frank was inspired by the sounds of the late fifties and early sixties, prompting him to take guitar lessons. But it was the sound of The Beatles that motivated Frank most, and helped the teen to focus more seriously on his music.
By his late teens, Frank was playing gigs at weddings and small venues, eventually graduating to known jazz venues in and around town.
Flash forward more than thirty years, and today Frank Piombo’s portfolio is an impressive one. Appearing as lead guitarist and vocalist alongside Sidewalk Symphony, The Fantasy Band, Stepping Out, The New Prince Band, US & Co, the original Infernos; and sharing the stage with the likes of The Duprees, The Mello Kings, Vito and the Salutations, and Vito and the Elegants, Frank has proved to be much more than a jazz guitarist.
In addition to touring the New York Metropolitan Area, where he has built a solid fan base, Frank has also shared the stage with various European artists, such as “I Nuovi Angeli” and the “Formula Tre.”
Frank’s CDs (The Night Speaks; Sleepwalk; and Smooth Reminiscence) have led to a large international following, prompting several fan pages on Facebook. And his music is now heard throughout North America, and several other continents, including: Africa, Australia, Europe, and South America.
Since June 2012, Frank Piombo has held the #1 jazz artist position in New Jersey, according to ReverbNation’s Jazz Charts! And in 2014, Frank Piombo was accepted on the popular digital radio station Pandora, where he now boasts his own station.
Log onto Pandora.com and create the “Frank Piombo” station on your laptop or mobile device today!
All cds are available at the following locations: cdbaby, Amazonmp3, ReverbNation.com, iTunes and other locations. They are a combination of Straight- Ahead Jazz, Latin Jazz, Smooth Jazz, and Easy Listening Vocal Tunes.
As well as his own compositions, Frank performs the works of George Benson, Kenny Burrell, Sonny Rollins, Erroll Garner, Larry Carlton, Ronny Jordan, Nick Colionne, Euge Groove, Horace Silver, Lionel Richie, Bobby Hebb, Duke Ellington, Cannonball Adderley and many others.

“I take a lot of pride in my sound. I was blown away by the difference in attack and tone when I switched over to Steve Clayton picks. Count me in for life!”
The South Bay of Southern California is no stranger to iconic and successful punk bands. There are many bands that take pride in calling the South Bay their home. Bands like Black Flag, The Descendents, The Deviates and Pennywise all hail from some part of a place that continues to create amazing music. Along with bands that have established themselves is a plethora of bands that are chomping at the bit to catch a break and bands that are making the South Bay’s renowned punk scene what it is today.
With so many punk bands in Southern California, it shouldn’t be a surprise to hear that members from three different bands are coming together to make something new by the name of WRATHS. Drummer Andrew Murphy and bassist Chris Kranes— from the rock ‘n’ roll band The Darlings— teamed up with 1208 guitarist Steve McCall and legendary Pennywise front man Jim Lindberg to create this unique sound.
WRATHS come to the scene with something that sets them apart from just another Southern California punk band. McCall’s technicality really adds a sound that keeps them distinct. He uses a chorus pedal which was big with bands like The Damned, TSOL, The Nerve Agents and even The Cure. When Lindberg first heard the music he admitted to hearing parts that reminded him of bands like, Washington D.C.’s melodic hardcore band, Dag Nasty and even Queens of the Stone Age. It’s these types of sounds that make it difficult to pigeon hole WRATHS.

Chris Martin is an up and coming singer/songwriter/guitarist from the Emerald Coast of Florida, born and raised in Pensacola. His roots in traditional country music, from George Strait to Keith Whitley, have helped shape his contemporary country music sound. Chris’ easy going manner is completely evident in his smooth vocal style, delivering a uniquely recognizable “blue-eyed soul” meets “Nashville drawl” in his renditions of current country hits as well as original material. Backed by the “hottest little band in P’Cola”, the Chris Martin Band has made an indelible mark on the regional music scene, having achieved some impressive milestones for a band just over a year old. Not content to follow the typical “bar band” business model, the Chris Martin Band continue to hone their craft at fairs, festivals and concerts in the SE and beyond. With a Nashville produced, all original EP released in March 2014, and having shared the stage with the likes of Bo Bice, Charlie Daniels and Southern Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd, the future continues to look very bright for this new country artist and his band.

“Over the years I have spent tons of money on my rig always searching for that perfect tone. Something that I was never happy with was my picks. I could get great tone out of some, but they never felt right between my fingers, or I could get a good feel, but the tone was lacking. After trying a Clayton pick for the first time, I was hooked. Fantastic tone- especially when you really dig into the strings. They feel great and never they never slip out of my grip. I would encourage any guitarist to give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.”

DFW based original rock band Sonar Lights sets out to tour China for the second year in a row.
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX – Sonar Lights is eagerly gearing up for their second China tour in May 2014. The rock trio from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX made quite an impression last year with Chinese fans and promoters. After their successful “Enter the Snake 2013” tour, the band was promptly asked to return to rock the masses again at the Midi Festival; the largest rock festival in the country.
The past 12 months have been extremely busy for the band. In addition to their overseas touring duties, the band has built their own recording/rehearsal studio and is in pre-production for their second independently released album. They’ve accomplished all this without the backing of a label, management team or distribution deal.
Sonar Lights was formed in 2010 and has been hovering under the mainstream radar. Their sharp songwriting delivered by a balanced meld of mighty early heavy metal guitar hooks, pummeling rhythmic textures and melodic vocals are things that do not go unnoticed. Sonar Lights independently released their debut album, “Here We Are” in 2012 and has steadily gained credibility from fans, the media and fellow musicians alike.
Disc jockey Angela Chase from 97.1 FM “The Eagle,” the largest rock station in North Texas said on her show, “I would highly recommend that you spend the $9.99 on iTunes and download a copy of Sonar Lights album. They have quite a few good songs on it.”
The band’s image and sound has caught the attention of the industry’s top music equipment manufacturers. Sonar Lights has proudly built working sponsorships with Bogner Amplification, Eden Electronics, Essential Sound Products, George L’s, Mono Case, PRS Guitars, Trailer Trash Pedalboards, Warwick Bass Guitars, Pigtronix Effect Pedals, Clayton guitar picks and Dunlop electronics.
The band has also toured nationally and shared the stage with some of music’s biggest acts, including: The B-52’s, Vince Neil, Cowboy Mouth, Rigor Mortis, Candle Box, Mute Math, Los Lonely Boys, The Toadies and Bowling for Soup.
In addition, Pandora Internet Radio included Sonar Lights’ entire album to their program giving fans the chance to create and stream their own Sonar Lights station. You’ll most likely hear similar sounding, well recognized bands like Foo Fighters, STP, Seether and Chevell on their station.
Sonar Lights is dedicated to bringing back the ideal of creating an album with a reason for existence and delivers a style of rock that has been desperately missed.

Yes, you did read that right! However, it’s actually called a humanoid and has 78 fingers! The band is made up of three which are named March (guitarist with 78 fingers), Ashura (drummer with 22 arms) and Cosmo (keyboardist). We always love to come across crazy ways that our picks are used but seeing robots play with them is pretty amazing we have to say! Also, some good news is that these robots still require a humans help so no worries about robots trying to replace live guitarists in bands (as if they could) :-)! We recently just got some awesome photos from the Dan Varner Band (Clayton Endorsee) that we thought it would be fun to share with you all! Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Dan has been singing since about the time he could walk. He grew up listening to his dad and uncles (with roots in the Tennessee mountains) picking their guitars. Other family members/friends would join in singing along to old country, gospel and bluegrass songs. Breaking on to the Cincinnati music scene over five years ago, Dan Varner has built a reputation as one of the most talented, hard-working and original country performers to hit the area in quite some time.

Hip Kitty has just released a new music video, Nothing Left To Burn! Check the video out here. Hip Kitty is Raw, Honest, American ROCK…music that transcends the expected and inspires the masses! For more Hip Kitty visit their Facebook.
We just recently endorsed the guitarists in the band StoneBaby! Here is a little bit about the band: With the inception of the band came an almost magical approach to writing and developing original music between the original members whose friendship spanned better than a decade. Scott Philipp, a singer /songwriter immersed in the Philadelphia music scene, was lead to push himself and focus on his powerful vocals. Scott creates tasteful melodies and lyrics over his forever simple, yet developing guitar playing skills. As he introduces ideas he and Tony Schiavo (Drums), always collaborate on the arrangement of the music to create a stylized rhythm that is unique to each song. Until recently, the band had cravings for a guitar player who would add simple dynamics and depth to the songs. With the revolving guitar position, the band made a commitment to head into the studio and record a three song EP to develop a style that would pinpoint the lead guitar sound that they really needed. Producer Drew Raison of Big Sky Audio, took the reins and seasoned the music to what is now the true sound of StoneBaby. The new recording, which has a commercial rock appeal, is set to capture all age listeners. As the band continues to evolve with new music… and newly added guitar and bass players, Bobby Leonhardt and Jason Shainline the EP is certain to prove to be a canvas for the band to expand its musical creativity and listening audience.

On July 9th Tobacco Apache will release their new CD on digital and physical copies will be available on July 12th. The Apache sound is a mix of original old school, southern, and roots rock, and other genres, blended into one dynamic sound. Sam Fochtman (guitar/vocals), Josh Lynch (bass/vocals), and Chance Taylor (drums) entered the scene as “Sam Fochtman & Tobacco Apache” with their first gig at Mike Aid II in June of 2010. From that point on, the fellas made sure to bring the heat to every show! In March of 2011 the band took to the studio to lay down tracks for their first EP. John Miller at Tone Room Studios was the mastermind behind the project, and he helped to give the band some new musical areas to explore. The self titled “Sam Fochtman & Tobacco Apache” CD was released on May 22, 2011. The next month, Martin’s Bar & Grill in downtown Roanoke, VA, hosted the band’s album release party. The Riverbank Ramblers joined in on the night’s fun and both bands played to a packed house. The boys finished off 2011 on a high note, preparing for more shows and their first full length album, which would be released the following year. That next year started off with a bang, with the band reaching new heights by placing second (of 20 bands) in one of the biggest Battle of the Bands that Roanoke had ever hosted. The boys also shortened the name of the band, to simply “Tobacco Apache” (it’s easier on the tongue!). In May of 2012 the band encountered a devastating tragedy. Lifelong friend, brother, founding member, and drummer; Chance Taylor, was killed in a car accident. The tragedy, which also claimed the life of Chance’s dad Randy, left the community and the music scene in total shock. Sam and Josh decided to play RoosterWalk 4 as a tribute show to Chance. With the help of some great musicians, including Mason Jennelle on drums, the boys performed and brought everything they had to the stage that night. Unsure of the next move following that performance, the band decided that a break was the best thing they could do to honor Chance, as they decided on a path for the future. In June of 2012, all of the bands that Chance had played in decided to hold a memorial/benefit show in honor of their fallen brother. Ryan Greer, The Baker Bros., Drown the Messenger, and The Aurora Observatory joined forces with Tobacco Apache at Martin’s for a night of music, fellowship and celebrating the life of Chance. The show will forever etched in the minds of the audience members as each band played and sang like never before. As time went on and healing took place the band decided to push on, pick up the pieces, and continue playing. They knew that was something that Chance would have wanted them to do. On July 4, 2012 Mason Jennelle (of Electric Chameleon) joined the band as a full-time member. Mason was a natural fit who plays with the same passion and excitement as the rest of the crew. With the drum seat filled and the addition of Paul Tressel on Keys, Tobacco Apache had finally solidified itself as upcoming act to see. Tobacco Apache has shared the stage with The Dirty Guv’nahs, Dangermuffin, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Cabinet, Folk Soul Revival, Mountain Heart, Adam Ezra Group, The Mumbles, Ten Toes Up and many others. The band has a new album entitled “Inside Job,” that is set for release in July of 2013 as well as a bunch of other numerous shows and festivals dates to round out the year.

We just wanted to share a little bit about a great organization that we are honored to work with. Guitars Not Guns was founded by Ray and Louis Nelson. They became foster parents in 1992 and it was through
this experience that Ray decided to provide foster kids with guitars and lessons. He began asking friends and strangers for their used guitars to pass along to foster kids. This act of kindness became his passion and as a result there are classrooms across the USA and in Canada. GNG’s goal is to help stop violence in schools and on the streets by providing a music program for at-risk teens and other deserving children. They want to divert as many children as possible from the self-destructive behaviors of drugs, alcohol and crime connected to gang activity. By providing children and teens with guitars and lessons they hope to engage their creative potential. It’s all about helping underpriveleged kids a
nd teens. GNG is an all-volunteer organization and provides their programs at no cost to students! We recently just made the custom guitar pick shown here for them on our White Delrin picks. Photo by Caren Armstrong.
