“Tetanus is a jam, that’s the best way to sum it all up. And I’ll dare to say this-Tetanus is the first band I have heard that really, truly makes the grunge sound of yesteryear come back to life. And if grunge isn’t your bag, that’s no problem, because Tetanus runs a triathlon. They do grunge, they do throwback rock ‘n roll, and they do present day modern rock. It’s hard to fathom that this is Tetanus’ rookie record, because few bands with several albums under their belt would be able to rekindle multiple eras of rock as flawlessly as Tetanus have.”— Tunelab Music (album review)
Tetanus is a full-service rock band from Memphis, TN. The 4-piece outfit puts an emphasis on songwriting and leaves nothing to be desired at their super-solid live show. Early 2006, this group of Memphis-bred musicians began writing and self-recording at 747 Studios- a rockhouse co-owned by producer Skidd Mills- where Scott Hardin (guitar, vocals) was employed. After many long nights of hard work by the band, Skidd heard the music and took an interest in the songs. The band subsequently signed on to Skiddco Music in January 2008 and quickly began adding to, tweaking and recording new songs for their debut self-titled release. 2009 brought opening slots for Saving Abel, Puddle of Mudd, Saliva, 12 Stones, and more. In November 2009 the band signed with Bieler Bros. Records and has set a March 16, 2010 release date for their debut label release, “Such a Loser.” Tetanus is comprised of Scott Hardin (Guitar and Vocals), Grayson Grant (Bass and Vocals), John “Effingham” Adams (Drums), and Scottie Somerville (Guitar).

If you want to rock with your music let our white pearls provide the extra energy to your performance. The white pearl custom guitar picks are a great choice for vibrant colors and colors that need a little extra to make them stand out. If you didn’t notice our pick of the week, from Bon Journey, you’ll see why they chose our pearl clayton guitar picks. The pearl look has been very popular for guitars and guitar picks. Our custom design team has been recommending the white pearl picks for light colors and brighter colors so that they come out well like the picks in the photo. To provide a little extra texture to your design the pearls help making a three dimensional look such like the Hadlock pick with the flames. If you’d like to become a rockstar be sure to make your picks through our website claytoncustom.com

Checkout these rounded triangle picks these customers came up with. The rounded triangle picks are very popular as you can tell from our featured artist stories. Many bass players and guitar players will pick the rounded triangle shape to give them a little more surface to hold while playing. These picks also provide more space for your design than our standard shape picks. With these larger picks you are also able to enlarge your design or sort of like, zoom in on the design and make it easier to see. The picks in the picture here are with the materials ultem, green delrin, acetal, white pearl, and an orange delrin. These picks customers designed had lots of info such as business name, phone number, and websites to promote themselves. In the claytoncustom.com site once you pick the material you’ll then see what pick shapes come in that material. If you have questions feel free to email us at questions@steveclayton.com or contact our custom design team at 877.752.9484.

Lately, at the Clayton custom department, we have been noticing some really cool black and white designs created by our customers, and we wanted to show them off! All of these designs were created for white delrin picks, and they have a really classy look. Using a full bleed black and white design can create the illusion of having a patterned pick, such as the pick shown on the farthest left. There is a lot of freedom with these kinds of designs, even though only one color is used, and they are always eye-catching. Whether they are for a band, a wedding, or a business promotion, black and white art is an example of how simplicity can often be the best way of creating an appealing design.

Clayton fans have you tried our new hot stamp foil picks? Just below to the right you’ll notice I have shared some of the styles people have come up with recently. What makes the picks unique is the foil provides a shiny look that catches the eye. There are many colors to choose from for the picks. For the foil color options you may choose our popular silver, gold, red, or purple foil. The hot stamp foil picks are definitely a popular item because of the sleek looking material and bright foil. The hot stamp foil picks take generally 4-6 weeks to produce, but when finished you’ll see the amazing quality! If you would like to learn more about our custom picks give us a call at 877.752.9484

We wanted to share with everyone that our employee of the month for February is Juana!!! Juana is one of our employees that we employ in factory with a developmental disability. One of our goals as a company is to give back to society, and we do this by providing jobs for individuals in our community that have disabilities. For over 20 years continuously we have employed disabled individuals in the production of our products. We average about 25 of these individuals at at time. With about a quarter of them working on location in our factory. Everyone loves having Juana around! She always is friendly and is quick to make everyone smile. Juana was awarded a custom pick necklace with her name on it for being a super star in our packaging department!

We have been getting lots of requests to put up pictures of our 2010 NAMM booth. I finally got around to getting them on here. We had a double decker booth this year with a lounge at the top. In addition we had 2 sound proof offices to conduct meetings in. As anyone who has ever been to NAMM knows, it is very loud! Without the sound proof rooms it can be quite impossible to get any business done, especially in Hall C were we are located.

You can check out their website by clicking here. These are a couple of picks we did for them this week that we wanted to share. They always order White Delrin because it works very well with the intricate overbleeds they usually use. The snakeskin turned out gorgeous on the delrin with the mixutre of bright and dark, it looks as if the pick is textured however it is smooth to the touch. They also went with a simpler flower design that looks very sharp!
