Pick of the Week — Scarlet Fade

This week’s Pick of the Week is for a band called Scarlet Fade. They chose our red delrin custom guitar picks, and we really loved the black graphic that they had for artwork. “What began as a group of teen musicians with a fresh, energetic sound has quickly taken the regional music scene by storm. The power behind Scarlet Fade comes from four siblings– Ali, Jordan, Jaimee, and Jake. Their rock/pop style has been influenced by bands like Switchfoot, NeedtoBreathe, The Elms, Flyleaf, and The Beatles. With a grass-roots local presence, the band has consistently won awards for performance and songwriting, and has shared the stage with other legends like Switchfoot, Lifehouse, Copeland, NeedtoBreathe, Superchick, Peter Tork (from The Monkees), and others. Much of their music draws its inspiration from personal life experience, faith, and the desire to give people a hope for the future. Many have defined their music as inspirational.  The secret to their success remains Scarlet Fade’s ability to  relate to their audience,  blending the struggles of life into a high-energy, captivating stage show that has touched the hearts of an ever-expanding loyal fan base of all ages. The name, Scarlet Fade, is inspired from the verse Isaiah 1:18 ‘though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow’”. Black and White

Sometimes, the simplistic designs are the ones that look the best when it comes to custom guitar picks. Shown in the image below are some great examples of simple but awesome designs that were submitted by our customers. These were all created on our white delrin picks. White delrin material is a really nice, bright white that looks great with colors, or with black-only designs like these. White delrin picks are available in standard guitar pick shape, and in three gauges including .80mm, 1.0mm and 1.26mm. To create a cool black and white design like the ones in the image, visit www.claytoncustom.com today!

Rev up your Autograph with Custom Signature Picks!

One of the more popular ideas for custom guitar picks from Clayton is to put your signature on the pick as the design or a portion of the design. Shown here are several examples of customers who liked this idea. This is a great way to personalize picks and they always come out looking really nice…no matter which pick material you choose. Signature picks can work really well if you are creating custom picks for a band and would like the band logo on one side, but each individual’s name on the other side. They also are perfect gifts for guitar players. All you have to do is figure out a sneaky way to get him/her to sign a piece of paper, then scan it, and upload the scan into our designer at www.claytoncustom.com. Try it out today!

Awww….Baby Picks!

Custom guitar picks work for baby showers, or as a congratulatory present after the baby is born. If you want to use the traditional colors, we have pink delrin and blue delrin guitar picks that can be designed with a custom black print (pink delrin shown in image). Or, you can choose one of our white picks and create a unique design using any colors that you want! (Guitar pick on the right is an acetal pick with a blue design. Teardrop Picks

This week, we wanted to draw some attention to our custom teardrop shaped picks. Many of our custom pick materials are available in three different shapes; rounded triangle, standard, and small teardrop. We often have customers request picks that are best for playing jazz music, and teardrop should be the first choice!  The small size offers a quick response when playing, and the slightly rounded tip will provide a warm tone. We have this shape available in a variety of materials, including ultem, acetal and colored delrin (several gauges available as well). Despite the smaller size of the teardrop shaped picks, we have had some great designs submitted to go on the picks. Shown here are examples of small teardrop custom designs on each of the materials offered. Left to right in the image, the materials are acetal, ultem and orange colored delrin. Design your teardrop pick today at www.claytoncsutom.com!

Shaken

Tommy, Matthew and Shane of Shaken are newly endorsed by us! They have been using our yellow and green delrin guitar picks for years now, and have also used Acetal .80mm. Shaken is a rock/metal christian band from Mississippi.  Here is Shaken’s bio from their Facebook, which we suggest you go to their Facebook or Myspace to check them out!

“In an industry where fads seemingly come and go as quickly as night and day, It is difficult to find a group of musicians whom have been able to endure the rigors of touring, and the everyday life of being in a serious band beyond a couple years. Shaken is one of the few exceptions to this trend. Having been playing music together for nearly 7 years, these guys have seen countless fads, scenes, and bands rise and fall with the tides of an ever-changing industry, only to press on, and continue to pursue the passion that God blessed them with. Driven by God’s grace and a passion to minister to people by showing them the everlasting love of Jesus Christ, Shaken strives to create music that others can enjoy, while constantly progressing, and adding their unique flavor to whatever they write. With nearly 400 shows, 3 full length albums, 2 EPs, and countless demos behind them, and a brand new 5 song EP produced by Travis Wyrick (POD, Pillar, Disciple, Toby Mac, Spoken, 10 Years Etc) coming soon, it is a safe bet that Shaken will not only continue to solidify their status as a mainstay in the music community, but also push to make their mark on anyone who is willing to listen to their music and message.”

Pick of the Week – Sixteen Cities

This week we have an awesome White Delrin Guitar pick, with full color imprinting.  The bright colors of this graphic, look really sharp on this pick. Sixteen Cities is a really amazing pop-rock band from Portland, OR.  Not too far away from us here in Talent, OR.  This band, just recently had their album “Pray You Through” featured on a recent episode of the popular WB show “One Tree Hill”.  They are currently on tour with the band Remedy Drive, and will be touring all over the South and Midwest.  If you are in any of those areas, make sure to check out their tour schedule.  For more information on this band visit their website at: www.sixteencities.com or check them out on their Facebook page.

Themed Picks

Sometimes, one type of custom pick just isn’t enough. Steve Clayton, Inc. customers often choose to order several different varieties of custom picks with the same, or similar, designs.  Shown in this image are examples of guitar picks that have been ordered in sets so that there was not a limitation of one pick type. The first set of picks in the image has three different animation designs, printed in different colors on white pearl, ultem and orange delrin picks. They customer even tried different shapes…using standard and small teardrop. The second set is a great example for advertising because they used the same face with different hairstyles on different colors of our colored delrin picks. The third set was done on our red delrin and ultem picks which look really nice together because of the color continuity. For the fourth set of picks, the customer submitted a cute autumn leaf design and had it done on our green and orange delrin picks, which are perfect for the fall season! Themed picks can also be a great option for a band, because then each band member can choose the pick material, gauge, and shape that he or she wants and  have the same logo on all of the picks. Or, you can get the same pick with the band logo, and have different band member names on each set. So, don’t limit yourself to just one type of custom guitar pick…order several! We can always give you a combined shipping for your orders as well ;-) Happy desigining! www.claytoncustom.com
