This week’s Pick of the Week was made for The Brian Davis Band, which formed in 2004 for a one-night-only
concert to raise funds for the music departments in the local Catholic schools. That night was an overwhelming success both monetarily and spiritually and ended with a feeling of what’s next! Since then, that concert has grown to an annual event drawing near a thousand together each year in worship and has raised nearly $35,000 dollars for youth music programs.
In 2007, the band was finding themselves more in demand for youth rallies, worship nights and church festivals. That demand came with a special call from God to begin to share their faith journey through original songs. As the songs poured out, the ministry continued to grow and touch the lives of countless Christians from their region. 2009 was truly a breakout year for the band; seeing their message spread to a larger audience, seeing their gifts helping the people of Uganda through a nationally released compilation album titled “Unified By Grace,” making their first television appearance on ” Lift Him Up Kansas” and completing their first studio album “Stand” which released in January of 2010.
The band is looking forward to the places God will call them to in 2012 and the opportunity to serve his people through their ministry.
For more information regarding the band visit them online at www.myspace.com/thebriandavisband42 or “like them” on Facebook!
The Brian Davis Band chose to have their picks made on our orange delrin material, which nicely supports their intricate black design. We loved the fine detail and creativity of their artwork. Brian told me that the design on the pick was inspired by Luke 12:24 which speaks of how the Raven, who has nothing, is cared for and loved by God. This passage intends to teach us that we, who have so many gifts, are loved as much… if not more. The Brian Davis Band has the same design for one of their t-shirts as well as on the front of their drum kit. To create your own custom guitar picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com today!

Heady (Drums), Sean Beedle (Bass) and Tyler Halsey (Vox/Lead Guitar). Jake and Matt have played at the Vans Warped Tour with national acts such as Bowling For Soup, The Ataris, AFI, Rancid and Less than Jake. They have also toured nationally and played at the famous Whiskey A Go Go and The Roxy in Los Angles. Sean has played in a variety of bands

He has also played with national acts, such as, Avenge Sevenfold and has even played on stage with All That Remains. Their influences range from Rise Against, Blink 182, Avenged Sevenfold, and Nirvana. If you had to label the bands sound it would be a combination of hardcore and pop punk. What you can say for sure is that they have their own unique sound. Combining catching riffs and amazing guitar solos, it leaves fans energized and wanting more. The band recorded a two-song demo at the end of August of 2011. The songs “Life on the Run” and “Bring Me Down” have quickly gained support from fans around the world. Armed with do-it-yourself determination, Hero Kid does not pretend to be anyone but themselves. The band does not bother with egos or attitude, determined to connect with every fan
on a personal level. The band will be heading into the studio late 2011 to record their first EP. It will be released early 2012. Look for Hero Kid to come to a city near you, starting in the spring of 2012″ Find out more at: http://www.facebook.com/herokidmusic We chose this pick because we liked the clean look of the logo in red against our white delrin pick material. We decided to showcase a couple of really nice overbleed custom pick designs. Overbleed, or full bleed, is an option for custom picks that allows you to create your design so that the art, graphics, photos, text, etc. will extend all the way to the very edge of the pick, instead of having a border around them. This simple change in the normal design process will allow for some really cool effects, like the picks shown below. The pick on the left is our pink delrin material, and we like how the black design creates the effect of a patterned pick. The pick on the right is a white pearl, and the full coverage of the background in the art creates an illusion that the pick is colored instead of white, and has a really nice gradient. To have this option for your own custom picks, simply visit www.claytoncustom.com and start your design. When you reach the pick options page, you will see a box to the right that you can check to allow for the full bleed of your design. When you click this box, you will notice that the template on the next page will not include any border around your design. Just as a caution though, it is inadvisable to create a design that has a black full bleed background on a white guitar pick…these types of designs are highly susceptible to flaking once they are on the picks, and they often make the artwork appear muddy. Happy designing!

This week’s Pick of the Week is an awesome, high-detail design submitted by the band MESSER. Here is some info
about them from their Reverbnation site:
“MESSER started writing late July 2009. With only a handful of shows since then, the Dallas, Texas, group has raised the attention of industry and fans alike by the lightning fast rise of popularity, both locally and nationally. Although some bands prefer not to be compared to anyone, MESSER finds that fans of Soundgarden’s candor, Velvet Revolver’s swagger and the grind of Motley Crue’s music are taking notice. Their music can be described as a nod to the 90’s, with their roots firmly planted in the present, while still honing their original sound for 2011 and beyond. Together Javier Contreras – Guitar/Vocals, Dereak – Lead vocals, Kenn Youngar – Drums, and Maddox – Bass/Vocals, provide somewhat of a local super group assault on the senses.” Find out more about MESSER at reverbnation.com/messer. The pick shown is a red delrin pick, in a .50mm gauge, rounded triangle shape. Design your own custom picks today at www.claytoncustom.com!

During the past week, we have had the opportunity to make custom guitar picks to promote an awesome cause. We are excited about this organization, and we are so glad that they chose us to help support them! The Save the Ta-tas® Foundation and ta-tas® Brand was created by clothing designer Julia Fikse as a way to fight breast cancer using laughter and fun as a way to fight a serious disease. Her playful line of t-shirts and accessories include messages such as “save the ta-tas” and “friends don’t let friends lose ta-tas.” Her messages of hope and humor have reached thousands of victims and survivors of breast cancer and have helped them to fight the disease with both strength and courage. ta-tas® Brand, which was started in 2004, donates 5% of gross sales year around to fight cancer. This is a unique, high and very risky commitment. They realize that women and families need support NOW so they also have an annual scholarship contest, support the Revlon Run Walk for Women and donate product year-round to independent fundraisers so others can raise funds for their favorite cancer charity. For more information, please visit www.savethetatas.com. The Save the Ta-tas picks were created, appropriately, on our pink delrin picks. This week’s Pick of the Week is for a band called Scarlet Fade. They chose our red delrin
custom guitar picks, and we really loved the black graphic that they had for artwork. “What began as a group of teen musicians with a fresh, energetic sound has quickly taken the regional music scene by storm. The power behind Scarlet Fade comes from four siblings– Ali, Jordan, Jaimee, and Jake. Their rock/pop style has been influenced by bands like Switchfoot, NeedtoBreathe, The Elms, Flyleaf, and The Beatles. With a grass-roots local presence, the band has consistently won awards for performance and songwriting, and has shared the stage with other legends like Switchfoot, Lifehouse, Copeland, NeedtoBreathe, Superchick, Peter Tork (from The Monkees), and others. Much of their music draws its inspiration from personal life experience, faith, and the desire to give people a hope for the future. Many have defined their music as inspirational. The secret to their success remains Scarlet Fade’s ability to relate to their audience, blending the struggles of life into a high-energy, captivating stage show that has touched the hearts of an ever-expanding loyal fan base of all ages. The name, Scarlet Fade, is inspired from the verse Isaiah 1:18 ‘though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow’”. Find out more about Scarlet Fade, their music, and upcoming shows at http://www.scarletfade.com. Design your own custom guitar picks at www.claytoncustom.com!
