Formed in October 2009, the band has already played extensively in their home state and throughout the south, gathering a loyal and devoted following en route. Billy Sidwell

Born and raised in a small town in southern illinois , Billy Sidwell has spent his entire life exposed to music. After seeing country singer Randy Travis perform at just 5 years old Billy knew that he wanted to be up on that stage. During his teenage years Billy played electric/bass guitar in several different rock bands and to this day he is still heavily influenced by all genres of music ranging from Bluegrass to Metal . After the breakup of his rock band in 2001 he took a long break from writing/playing music then in 2004 billy met & married the love of his life and together they share 4 beautiful children . In 2009 Billy made his return to the music world when he wrote a song called ‘ Battlescars ‘ the song was a true story written about his own childhood growing up from a broken home he then shared his lyrics on facebook with a few friends and soon realized that so many people out there could relate to his words . through word of mouth and self promotion he has obtained nearly 4,000 loyal fans that call themselves ” The B.S Army ” and he has did all of this with no radio airplay or backing from a record label. Billy Recently went into the studio and recorded a 3 song acoustic demo cd called ‘ Battlescars ‘ which is a written reflection of his childhood .What makes Billy Sidwell stand out the most are his lyrics. As you hear them you feel the experience and emotions behind them. These words invoke images that are so clear, so vivid, you feel as though you are right there experiencing them with him.

The Rhythm Dawgs

Ken and Dana of The Rhythm Dawgs have been endorsed with us since 2010. The Rhythm Dawgs are a band made up of four guys from completely different corners of the musical universe.  Take a blues influenced bass player, team him up with a country-rock drummer.  Add a formally trained lead guitarist, and throw in another guitar player who grew up on a steady diet of AC/DC and Grand Funk.  Who could have known that what would come out would be a crowd-pleasing entertainment package that mixes electric blues, classic rock, a little country, and some primetime TV for good measure. The Rhythm Dawgs have been honing their craft on Texas stages since 1999.  With 3 CDs and hundreds of live performaces under their belts, the band knows how to put on a show…not just stand around and churn out songs.  The audience in drawn into the performance. With a sound that is equal parts Texas Blues and British Rock, the Dawgs take the best of the past and make it their own.  Whether it’s a rock-n-roll classis from the 70’s, a gritty blues tune, or one of their originals…you know it’s The Rhythm Dawgs. If you’re looking for a slick, upscale, polished production…then this isn’t the band for you.  But if you’re in the market for a band made up of four ordinary guys who just happen to be some extraordinary musicians, then call the Dawgs.

Nick Ruroede of Lost In Society

Lost in Society is an Alternative/Pop Punk band based in the Asbury Park area of New Jersey. The band was founded in 2004 and is currently comprised of Zach Moyle on guitar and lead vocals, Nick Ruroede on bass and back up vocals and Hector Bonora on drums. Lost in Society had an original history of covering songs but for the last four years have been writing their own songs thanks to the exceptional talent of Zach Moyle, the lead guitarist. This very entrepreneurial band began booking their own shows with one of their first appearances at the PNC Arts Center in New Jersey. In 2005 as the bands music and rousing stage presence became evident, they began their association with Jersey Shows, a production company that books bands around Monmouth county in New Jersey. They had several exhilarating shows in venues such as The Stone Pony , The Saint and Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, Chubbys in Red Bank, NJ and summer concerts at Bar “A” in Belmar, NJ and Seaside Music Festival as well as Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ. They were then introduced to Jon Leidersdorff of Lakehouse Music, NJ in 2006 who produced and recorded their first EP titled “GONE”. While continuing thrilling audiences young and old, they entered Jersey Shows 8th annual Battle of the Bands. Out of 160 bands they placed 4th at the finals at Starland Ballroom, Sayreville, NJ. Since that time they have continued to play to various venues and were nominated for an Asbury Music Award in the category of Best Young Band in 2007, and Best Young Band and Best Punk/Reggae Band for 2008 and again in 2009 which in 2008 had opened the award show at The Stone Pony. During the last two years, Lost in Society has found themselves playing yearly tours encompassing New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Ohio. You can also hear them on local college radio stations such as Monmouth University,88.9, Brookdale College, 90.5, and Seton Hall ,89.5 and many others. Cask Thomson

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Cask Thomson is a maverick in the inspirational rock world. He
defines any easy pigeonhole. By turns, he picks an electric guitar to accompany his ballad,
sings a witty song about modern life, plays an eccentric bluesy guitar solo, belts an angry tune
and then reaches deep for a soulful expression of values in a troubled world. He tops it all with
an array of meaningful words and melodies— all skilfully blended into a seamless flow. One fan
said Its music that makes you think makes you wonder and then strikes your heart and eyes.

A mainstay on the inspiration rock circuit these past few years, Cask has toured as a session
guitarist with many Sydney artists. His debut album reached number 8 in the iTunes charts in
Mexico in 2009. Thomson is currently working on his follow up album and has told that it will
be very different and will contain many soft and heavy elements.

NEO GEO

NEO GEO has been making waves since 2008 with their original and unpredictable brand of electro-tinged rock, described by Sugar Buzz Magazine as, “like Paramore, may remind you of No Doubt, with a touch of Evanescence and lots of EDGE and DRIVE.” The band’s name is indicative of their attitude towards their sound. “NEO GEO means new earth,” says lead vocalist Rainy Terrell. “We wanted to create something new and special, something groundbreaking and different.” “All of us coming from different backgrounds, you can hear the influences  in the music of the different genres we come from. We also wanted to incorporate an electronic vibe, so we thought NEO GEO was fitting in all aspects.” In 2009 the five-piece from Orange County gained sponsorship from Roland, and was a featured artist on their showcase stage at Winter NAMM ’09 alongside Shiny Toy Guns.  The band also teamed up with Hardline Entertainment in 2010, enlisting the expertise of Ken Seaton and Fletcher Dragge (Pennywise). NEO GEO worked tirelessly on their debut studio album with Grammy award-winning producer Cameron Webb (Kelly Clarkson, Motorhead, Pennywise, Weezer).  Their self-titled debut album is scheduled for release on Hardline Entertainment in June 2011. “What blows me away the most about Neo Geo is that this is their first album and their ability to write and perform such great songs.  One listen to Rainy and you are blown away by her melodies and passion to sing from the heart,” affirms Cameron. No strangers to high-profile shows, NEO GEO has already rocked the stages of several infamous LA landmarks, including the Roxy with Dead By Sunrise, the House of Blues with Strung Out and their own headline show at the Whiskey A Go Go. Following the incredible success of their 2010 warped tour, Neo Geo has signed on for 15 shows on the 2011 tour starting in Florida. They will be performing among bands like Black Veil Brides, Less Than Jake, and Yelawolf marking their second year in a row playing the festival-  http://vanswarpedtour.com/band/neo-geo. Their song, “Can’t Catch Me,” is to be featured on the Official 2011 Vans Warped Compilation CD. Mark Mestre

Mark Mestre plays an acoustic rock show. ‘Out of Order’ began as an acoustic duo when Mark and Bill -a fellow Army pilot- decided to join forces and create a show with a broad musical base that covered over 50 years of rock music.  When the Army pulled them apart, as sometimes happens, Mark continued on as a solo acoustic show, delivering a dynamic sound experience that is constantly evolving- with new songs added regularly.

While he billed himself as Mark Mestre, the clubs he played at and the people who came to listen continued to refer to him as ‘Out of Order’.  Since the name stuck, Mark continues to play as ‘Out of Order’ despite being a solo artist, for the time being.  Mark’s playing schedule continues to increase with local shows each weekend in DeRidder, LA and shows that expand to Fort Polk, Leesville, Lake Charles, and Westlake, LA throughout the month.  It’s no surprise to find him playing on a weekend night at the club with standing room only at the venues that showcase his act.

Mark is still on active duty in the US Army, as a pilot himself, and plans to retire in the spring of 2011- playing music on a more full time basis.  Check back often for show dates and additions to the schedule!

While Mark’s schedule is normally filled with club appearances, Mark is also available for smaller shows and parties.  With songs spanning the decades from the 60’s to today, Mark is a diverse crowd pleaser with a little something for everyone’s taste!

Drawing upon this experience, they formed as a rock trio in 2005 and recorded their initial 4-song demo that summer. After writing numerous songs and playing numerous shows in their area, Joe Hero completed the recording of their debut album which was released in 2007 with the title “A Hero’s Welcome”. Described as “in-your-face hard rock with a turn-it-up attitude and no BS” by Darryl Gregory of Indie-music.com, A Hero’s Welcome is available through CDBaby.com or iTunes. Music from the album has received traditional radio and online radio airplay, and has also been featured in at least twenty different online podcasts across the globe. Zach Fronce of Judd Hoos

Zach Fronce of Omaha, Nebraska is lead guitarist for popular rock group Judd Hoos.  Zach began playing guitar at 16 and by 17 was playing in his first band.  3 years and a few bands later Zach has brought himself to the national stage at just 20 years of age. Zach is currently touring with the Hoos and has very quickly made a name for himself with high energy stage performances and brilliant guitar work. The high energy rock band Judd Hoos will travel in excess of 40,000 miles in 2009 to 114 shows in 9 states. In the past two years, the band has performed in 12 states, released a debut CD, opened for national acts Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Big Head Todd, and even managed to squeeze in a show at the Bellegio in Las Vegas. Home base for Judd Hoos is South Dakota, but the band members are separated by hundreds of miles between shows. Shane Funk (drums) lives in Spearfish, SD; Chris Hornick (bass) lives in Rapid City, SD; Andy Young (guitar) lives in Chadron, NE; Zach Fronce (guitar) lives in Omaha, NE; and Bob Zwart (vocals) along with the tech crew live in the Sioux Falls, SD area. The band carries a massive, state of the art sound system and lighting rig and employees a four man technical crew charged with making each show a true concert experience. Judd Hoos currently travels with a sponsored truck from GMC of Chadron. Work has started on the band’s second album and has been a testament to the awesome capability of Pro Tools recording technology at use on the road! Two of the newest tracks from the upcoming CD have recently become part of the live show and one of the cuts titled ‘Stand Up’ has Black Hills radio stations interested in adding the single to rotation. “The songs I’ve heard from the upcoming Judd Hoos CD are strong, with as much radio airplay potential as any major label band that has come across my transient in a while.” Says Murdoc Jones, program director for 95.1 KSQY in Rapid City, SD. For the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Judd Hoos will headline eight straight nights at the Loud American Roadhouse in Sturgis. This venue puts the band in front of thousands of new fans and has been a big part of the success Judd Hoos has enjoyed over the past five years.

Justin Pietrowski

Born and raised in Western New York, Justin Pietrowski spent his entire life being exposed to the classics of the rockin blues. Pietrowski’s theories, inspiration and sound come from the best of musicians from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Robin Trower, Robert Cray, The Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa and many more. It’s safe to say that Justin’s IPod is full of the classics. So it’s been a hell of a ride for Pietrowski. Originally starting his professional career in Northern Japan, he spent a lot of stage time with music greats in Japan. Pietrowski had the privilege of having Japan-great guitarist, Hiroshi Sasaki as a personal mentor and great friend. Sasaki and Pietrowski have been seen on many different stages all over northern Japan. Pietrowski also had a very close friendship with Japan professional, Masato Yonaiyama. Yonaiyama and Pietrowski sat on various stages together as well as shared a great friendship together. Masato Yonaiyama, nearly 60 years old has played the country of Japan professionally for over 40 years. Off Stage he has spent time sitting in on venues in Australia, Japan, and the US. During a short experience in Australia, Pietrowski met up with Triple-J recording artist Gareth Dawkins and had several recordings and guest appearances with him. Gareth has several nationally ranked songs in Australia. It was an honor for Pietrowski to be able to unleash such great music with Dawkins. (www.myspace.com/garethjdawkins). To listen in on what Gareth and Justin were able to create, check out the track: “Today Was Yesterday”. The song, written and composed by Pietrowski had Dawkins sit in on the vocals. The song reached into the top 500 songs in the Play Crossroads guitar contest. In May 2010, Pietrowski entered his music into the Play Crossroads guitar contest which privied him the chance at playing the Crossroads Guitar Festival thrown by Eric Clapton in Chicago. Although not selected as winner, Pietrowski in only one month in the contest climbed all the way up to #165 overall in the contest of over 1000 bands. Guitar for Pietrowski is the outlet. It puts him in a world of his own where there are no bosses or bureaucracy– just him and a guitar. It’s the way for him to talk, scream, cry, bitch and complain all at this piece of wood and then let it do the talking for him. Now based in Hampton Roads, Virginia, Pietrowski has joined forces to create the power blues trio, JP3 which is destined for greatness. Justin refers to his band, Ron and Dave, as his winnings in the Virginia State Lottery. They are his lucky scratch off ticket. The JP3 is now a premier level power trio that is taking the Hampton Roads area by storm. When you walk in and JP3 is on stage, plan on staying the evening because the next song is always just as good and better as the one you walked in on. The soul and sync of JP3 is amazing and it’s bound for a great show every time they take stage. Each musician in the band holds their own and incorporates such a great style that really makes every song a great version to remember.

Colfax

Whether you blame the decline of the music industry or the cities that never sleep, there just aren’t enough big-time dreamers these days. However, the Brockville, Ontario-reared rock quartet Colfax are at a significant advantage over their complacent peers. They know successful business starts at the source; bands need to make music worth paying for again. Just ask the forty thousand strong visitors to Colfax’s MySpace page. Better proof, however, lies in the massive debut album Keys to the Midway; an aural assault of the band’s patented brand of aggressive melodic rock that finds Cody Humble (vocalist) Brock Tinsley (guitars) Aaron Hopkins (bass) and Joel Hopkins (drums) knitting big top-sized choruses seamlessly with a variety of punishing hooks. While they may not all legally be able to sit at the bar, their first record finds Colfax setting one of their own to heights previously unknown. With a tasteful vision that merges the best possible approaches, the band craft music that is equal parts muscle and melody. Attitude and invention abounds on Keys to the Midway; be it the pummeling-pop insistency of “Run” or the nightmare-gone-wrong “Bigfoot Doesn’t Have Any Sisters” which teeters on the brink of pure catatonia. “We believe music is meant to be played with passion, and we think a lot of bands are more interested in current trends than their own expression,” Brock claims. It’s interesting to note that despite the band’s proficiency (few could resist the exuberant debut single “Lay Low” which showcases Cody’s charismatic caterwaul) the quartet’s influences range from Rage Against the Machine to Daft Punk to soul to Every Time I Die. “There are so many great sounds out there,” Cody acknowledges. “We don’t want to limit ourselves.” Rewind to 2008 when Colfax formed; just one among the myriad of hopeful bands in Eastern Ontario. While juggling part-time work at a restaurant and graveyard shifts at a pharmacy, Colfax successfully recorded and supported a three song demo, An Entrance in the Making. Soon afterwards, Colfax was granted opening slots for fellow Canadian acts such as Hedley, Ten Second Epic, and Theory of a Deadman. It was an easy decision when the band was asked to create their first full length CD during the summer of 2009. Whether it’s the urgent, angular riffs that energize “Little Miss 1565” or the gentle, string-laden sway of “The Act of Breathing In”, each song is created inconspicuously among friends whose bonds stretch as far back as public school. “A good portion of songs all started by Brock and I imitating all the instruments with our mouths while playing video games together, just hanging out,” says Cody. “That’s what makes it so fun and memorable. Every song represents so much more than the lyrics let on.” Colfax have been touring high schools extensively educating students about the music industry and their potential place in it as budding musicians. The band combines a uniquely designed presentation (which covers many topics including band chemistry, songwriting, royalties, financing) with their signature high-octane rock show; Colfax are taking this EducaTOUR cross-country in the fall of 2010. Thanks to their intelligent embrace of technology, Colfax have mastered various outlets to virtually connect with their fans. The most popular of which is ColfaxTV, a YouTube channel that features original videos documenting the band’s adventures. The Dawg and Pwny Show is an hour long feature that provides a walkthrough of the album’s creation; this popular series treads the fine line between comedy and professionalism flawlessly. If their intentions are simple, they also seem pure. Says Aaron, “There’s a reason we’ve sacrificed as much as we did to come this far. There’s nothing else we would rather do.” This band has the keys and the world is ready to be unlocked.

In Bloom

Hailing from Portland, OR in the great northwest, In Bloom is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. With influences from Jimmy Eat World and U2, to Leonard Cohen and The Beatles, In Bloom puts it all together in a punk/indie infused power-pop sound that screams heart, honesty and energy. Timothy Reed (Wheelchair Renegades), Tony Robles (Alter Ego), Max Hampton and DJ Eickhoff have come together and created something completely original in today’s segregated and sub-genred world of rock.

Though In Bloom is new to the scene, its members have being paying their road dues for years, touring on the east and west coastlines. Timothy Reed booked and orchestrated years of west coast D.I.Y. tours with previous bands.

No matter the direction In Bloom’s music takes them, they show absolutely no fear and a relentless passion to reach people. No one said honesty was easy, but In Bloom has found it’s the only recipe for success.

Salient

Salient has risen to the forefront of independent music with its dynamic live show, melodic rock sound, and lyrics that depict the universal search for hope and redemption in a broken world. Salient originally formed in the fall of 2002 and gained momentum quickly. A full-length album was independently produced and released in June of 2004, and an EP showcasing the growth of the band’s sound followed in January 2006. The EP resulted in the first acclaimed Salient song “Immortalize Me” thanks to the impact of online promotion and distribution through sites like Garageband.com and iTunes. Vocalist Mark Duckworth and guitarist Bobby Reinsch have traveled the world playing music and bring a confidence to the stage that can only result from the tests of time and experience. The addition of Jeromy Rowe on the drums and Craig Woelber on bass has truly brought their songs to life. Intent on learning from their lessons in the music business, these four have formed a bond that seeks to weather the cyclical nature of industry approval and come out stronger together on the other side. From the beginning the response has been overwhelming. Fans from across the world have taken notice of Salient and a broad cross-section of society has found a band that they can truly relate to. “I believe that people are tired of having musical superficiality shoved at them by executives in suits,” remarks Duckworth. “Our goal is to share our lives through our music. It’s time to get real.”

Pick of the Week – Patrick Vega

We have another endorsed artist this week! This time it is for Patrick Vega! Patrick’s pick featured this week is printed on our Acetal material with a lovely colorful design.  Patrick has ordered tons of different designs in the past from us, so he is quite the guitar pick designer. Our custom imprint department talks to Patrick quite often and they all really love him.  Patrick showed the love back by doing a video all about Clayton picks! Which is totally awesome! Check it out below.

A little background on Patraick is that he is a player that is capable of great technique. In general though, he follows the unexpected, adventurous route rather than the (expected) technical/theory route. Alternate tunings, tasty leads and heavy but ambitious rhythm guitar parts that are accessible yet eclectic.

Patricks’s playing and songwriting displays a blend of vintage grace & modern rock/metal attitude. The music is influenced by acts such as Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains, Joe Satriani, The Cure, Rage Against The Machine, KoRn, Puddle Of Mudd, Seether, Tool, Classic Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, PJ Harvey, Tricky, Ozzy Osbourne, Vega’s former guitar teacher Brett Garsed and various movie soundtracks.

All I can say is Way Cool! Check out his website at: http://www.patrickvega.com

This lovely pearl celluloid pick is printed with a purple and blank blended logo. It was made for the band guitarist and vocalist Chuck Duran. Also, make sure to check out their facebook page, where they have over 22,000 likes! Wow!

Mathias Anderle

His custom picks which are featured here are printed on our Acetal 1.52mm material. We really love the colorful design he chose! Mathias is one busy guy! He is a singer, songwriter, actor and model. Mathias was born in Puyallup, WA (as a side note he wrote this on his myspace which some of us found hilarious “sorry girls, that’s nowhere near Forks, home to another famous, but immortal teen…”). His first single “Shine On” is featured on KIDZ BOP 17. Mathias also landed the role of Colin—the male lead in the upcoming TeenNick movie, “School Gyrls”—co-starring Justin Bieber, Kristinia DeBarge and Soulja Boy.
