Hey Clayton customers! Check out these cool designs that are being submitted by some of our other customers! Both of these picks were designed for weddings, and we love how creative they are! Both are two-sided designs. The top pick design was made on our white pearl material, with full bleed art that almost covers the entirety of the pick, so it gives the appearance of being golden on one side and pink on the other. Of course, both sets of picks display the couple’s name and the wedding date. The second pick design is on our white delrin material, which really makes the red color of the tree pop. Both pick sets will be great as wedding favors that can tie into the wedding theme and impress guests with originality. Are you planning a 2012 wedding? We use the highest form of the material to resist notiching and give ultimate strength. We offer these picks in 6 gauges and 3 shapes! Next we have Exotic picks. These picks are available in 4 different materials. Sheesham wood is an amazing organic material that will leave you shocked at the warm tone it creates. This pick also has a natural wood grain vertically down the pick that helps tone better flow from your strings while adding strength to the pick. It also features tapered edges that allows for a swift release from your strings. Coconut Shell is a durable and bright organic material that creates increased volume during play and is very dense and tough. Each of the Coconut picks are hand-made with a smooth polish on one side and an indented, roughed grip on the other. Blond Wood will create a beautiful rich tone and is great for playing with when you need a nice rhythm bass as it eliminates brassy tones. The last of the Exotic picks are the Horn which is shockingly bright and durable! It has a transparent brown and amber look. It also has contoured edges and a polished surface that is extremely fast off of your strings. Ever wish you could have a card of Clayton picks you can carry in your pocket, pull it out, and punch out a pick anywhere? Well now you can! Sometimes, one type of custom pick just isn’t enough. Steve Clayton, Inc. customers often choose to order several different varieties of custom picks with the same, or similar, designs. Shown in this image are examples of guitar picks that have been ordered in sets so that there was not a limitation of one pick type. The first set of picks in the image has three different animation designs, printed in different colors on white pearl, ultem and orange delrin picks. They customer even tried different shapes…using standard and small teardrop. The second set is a great example for advertising because they used the same face with different hairstyles on different colors of our colored delrin picks. The third set was done on our red delrin and ultem picks which look really nice together because of the color continuity. For the fourth set of picks, the customer submitted a cute autumn leaf design and had it done on our green and orange delrin picks, which are perfect for the fall season! Themed picks can also be a great option for a band, because then each band member can choose the pick material, gauge, and shape that he or she wants and have the same logo on all of the picks. Or, you can get the same pick with the band logo, and have different band member names on each set. So, don’t limit yourself to just one type of custom guitar pick…order several! We can always give you a combined shipping for your orders as well 😉 Happy desigining! www.claytoncustom.com

We wanted to show off a few of the really cool designs that customers have created recently for custom guitar picks. These are customers who did not hold back when designing their picks; they have a lot of color and detail and they all came out great on our picks! These customers all chose the “full bleed” option for their guitar picks. This means that, instead of having a small border around the artwork, the design will bleed right to the edge of the pick. It is a little bit more expensive to choose this option for custom picks, but it is well worth it to have designs that are as awesome as these. Most of our pick materials include the overbleed option. The pick materials shown here are white delrin (the middle pick) and acetal (the two outside picks). These materials are great for full bleed because they also allow for full color designs, so you can let your imagination run wild. Design your custom guitar pick on our custom design site today, and try out the Full Bleed option!
Here at Clayton, we offer three different white picks for custom design, including white delrin, acetal, and white pearl. If you are looking for a classy pick that is great for playing, or for use as a promotional tool, white pearl is optimal. Our white pearl picks have glossy finish, and they are marbleized, so they automatically have the “upscale look.” White pearls can be great with either single or full color designs, as shown in the image below. White pearl picks are also very popular for weddings, since they look nice and can support a design with any color in it. Our white pearl picks are available in six gauges ranging from a very thin .38 to an extra heavy 1.26. There are also two different shapes available for white pearl picks; standard (left pick in photo) and rounded triangle (right pick in photo). Design your white pearl pick on our custom website today!
We had to write a blog about this, because we have noticed that, lately, we have received numerous custom guitar pick orders for weddings that are on October 10, 2010. We have already discovered that custom guitar picks can be a very popular idea for use in weddings, and now we have even more wedding pick orders for this special date that is approaching! If you are planning a 10/10/10 wedding, or a wedding on any date in the near future, you should consider adding custom guitar picks to your planning. They can be used in save-the-dates, invitations, as favors for guests, as part of the decorations….you name it! Shown here are a couple of examples of some of the designs that we have gotten lately. We especially like the design for the ultem pick (on the right), because ultem is not a commonly chosen material for weddings, but this design looks awesome! The tan color of the ultem picks are great for weddings in autumn. They can support designs with red, brown, or black colors, so if these colors are in your wedding scheme, give ultems a try! Design your custom wedding guitar picks today at www.claytoncustom.com.
The most popular choice for custom guitar picks is, hands down, our standard shape picks. But some guitarists prefer our rounded triangle picks. These are oversized shaped picks, with equilateral sides. Many guitar players like the larger size of these picks because they are easier to hold on to. This shape is available in a few of our different pick materials. We have rounded triangle in our colored delrin, acetal, ultem, colored pearl and white pearl material. Many designers also like to choose this shape simply for the fact that a rounded triangle pick will allow for more design space. Shown here are examples of designs that came out really well and were well-suited for this pick shape. So, if you would like to try something new, design your rounded triangle pick today at www.claytoncustom.com.
Are you looking for a bright pick that will catch people’s attention? Or maybe you just want a very specific color for your guitar picks? Give our colored pearls a try! We offer colored delrin custom guitar picks, but sometimes we find that customers are looking for a very specific color that is not available in delrin. Also, the colors of the delrins are dictated by the gauges (for example, red = .5mm gauge), but sometimes someone is looking for a color of pick in a different gauge than the one offered for colored delrin. This is when we recommend the colored pearls because they come in a very wide variety of colors, and several gauges. For our colored pearl picks, we offer .3, .5, .63, .8, 1, 1.26, and we have both standard and rounded triangle shapes. Colored pearls make great wedding picks, because they can be matched to the color scheme of the wedding, and they have a classy, marbleized look. Design your custom colored pearls today…but don’t forget to make sure that your design is in black ink only!! Custom Design Site.
During the past month, we have noticed that several designs have been submitted for printing on our black celluloid picks that are in yellow. The most common imprint color for our black picks is white, and red is fairly common as well. After seeing these yellow designs though, we have realized that the yellow on black makes for a great color combo that is sure to stand out! Our black celluloids are a specialty material that we provide as an option for custom imprinting. They are available in standard shape, and three different gauges; thin medium, and heavy. They can have printing on one or both sides of the pick. Black celluloids work the best with large text, and clear, distinct graphics. We have chosen to display the picks to the right as examples of designs that have the right qualities to really come out well. If you like the black and yellow color duo, try out your own design on our custom site: Clayton Custom Design Site!

This week we selected a pick on our Green Delrin pick material, by a group named Trees on Fire. The quintet’s first full-length album Organica connects the dots between rock, dance, roots, and pop music. Recorded in Virginia and Louisiana, Organica takes listeners from the heights of the ancient Blue Ridge Mountains to the buzzing swamps and bayous of the bottom-land. Produced by Rob Evans, Eric Heigle, and Trees on Fire, the exciting original music captured on this recording is only a part of the legacy the band hopes to leave behind.
The band has raised awareness and funds for a number of organizations over its four years in existence, including Sierra Club, Appalachian Voices, Atchafalaya Basinkeeper, Building Goodness Foundation, Climate Ride, Chesapeake Climate Action Network and others. Trees on Fire was voted “Greenest Regional Band” by Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine and had a song featured on Sierra Club’s national website earlier this year. The band will donate 5% of proceeds from its debut album to both Atchafalaya Basinkeeper and Appalachian Voices in an effort to keep their important work moving forward.
What an amazing and inspirational band! Check more out at their website: treesonfire.com
We wanted to show off some of the recent glow-in-the-dark pick designs that customers have ordered. Glow-in-the-dark picks are still a fairly new item that Steve Clayton, Inc. has provided for custom design, but they are definitely a hit! Glow picks don’t look that much different from other picks at first sight, but all you have to do is put them under a bright light for a couple minutes, and they are sure to stand out at a dark rock concert! Simple designs with thick, bold lines come out best on the glow picks, which is why we chose these three designs as great examples. Each design has a name and an image to give them the personal touch, but they are not overcrowded with detail. So, if you are thinking about designing some custom glow picks, have a look at the picks shown here to get some ideas! To design custom glow picks: Clayton Custom
The Steve Clayton team is proud to announce that we have been included in a blog for Live Musician Central. Live Musician Central is a site that provides resources for performing musicians, including information about being in a band, gigs, band equipment, and how to improve live band skills. The blog entry dedicated to Steve Clayton, Inc., referred to our acetal picks, and the reasons why our they are chosen over other brands. The main reasons include that our acetals have a sweat-resistant surface, they are long-lasting, and they have a good hardness that allows for a sharp attack when playing. Our acetal picks are available with our logo on them, or as a material for custom design. To check out the blog posting, please visit http://livemusiciancentral.com/2008/06/13/the-best-guitar-picks-clayton-acetal-standard-picks/ For Clayton Acetal Standard Guitar Picks, visit http://www.steveclayton.com/acetal.php and to design custom acetal picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com. Here are some picks that demonstrate what the over bleed option does to a design. If you notice the picks on the right have a border around the design, yet the picks on the left have no border and the ink “bleeds” to the edge. When placing you next order if you would like to see what the over bleed option does to your design here are the steps to make sure you select the over bleed option.
1. Start by going to claytoncustom.com and click on the guitar pick “START NOW!”
2. Click on the pick material of your choice, and click continue
3. Choose your shape, gauge, number of sides, print color option, and quantity number.
4. After selecting your quantity number underneath you’ll notice the “Full Bleed” option. If you want your design to go to the edge of the picks click the Full Bleed “On” box. You should then see a check mark letting you know the design is setup for Full Bleed.
The full bleed option will maximize your design space and your creativity. Try it yourself and see the amazing results!
If you need some help with any of your designs be sure to call our custom design team and we’ll be happy to make sure your design looks the best way possible! You can reach us at 877.752.9484
