Pick Art

We have had some customers submit some really cool pick art recently, and we wanted to show off these designs! All of them are very colorful, and they were created using various types of artwork. The pick on the far left was made using a cartoon image, on our white delrin picks. The center pick has a painting on it, which appears 3D on our white pearl picks. The pick on the far right uses a nice photo of northern lights to create a unique look. For full color art such as the designs shown here, we offer three different white pick materials that can support these types of designs. This image is a great way to compare how the three types of white picks (white delrin, white pearl, and acetal) are different from each other. Also, we have two picks in this image (the  two outside picks) that demonstrate use of the full bleed option. Choosing full bleed for your custom picks means that the design will go all the way to the edge of the pick and not have a border. Create your own custom pick design today at www.claytoncustom.com!

Pick of the Week — Manifest Destiny

This week’s Pick of the Week is for Manifest Destiny, a band made up of longtime fans of The Dictators who never got a chance to see them live due to the geographic (and perhaps cultural) isolation of Fresno, CA. Comprised of local longtime musicians, Manifest Destiny (www.manifestdestinyrocks.com) is a musical tribute to The Dictators which aims to save rock and roll, or have the most fun failing in the attempt. Their genre definition is Rock, Rock & Roll, Proto-Punk, Post-Glam Rock, The Missing Link. Band members include Marvelous Jonny Manbeef (vocals), Zinck (guitar), Essé (drums), Squink (bass), Ross The Boss Too (guitar). They have an upcoming show too, on May 14th! Check them out on Facebook at:  http://www.facebook.com/pages/Manifest-Destiny-A-Tribute-to-The-Dictators/135507956517828. Their custom pick artwork, which is highly detailed and colorful, was printed on our acetal pick material. Design your own custom guitar picks today at www.claytoncustom.com!

Pick of the Week — Megan Redmond

This week’s featured pick was created for country music artist and songwriter Megan Redmond,  from Denver, CO. She has a beautiful design with great colors that turned out really well on our acetal picks.  Here is some information about Megan’s work, taken from her website: “Megan’s vocal strength and sound have been compared to a young Faith Hill with a pinch of Alison Krauss.  Megan’s music, and the covers she chooses, lean towards creating a fun, energetic emotional experience that all her fans can personally relate to. At only 15 years old, Megan Redmond is already making an impressionable impact on Nashville’s songwriting community.  Her ability to write radio-ready material to the likes of veteran Nashville songwriters has earned her the opportunities to collaborate with some of country music’s best.  A historical comparison is being made to the age and development of the songwriting strengths and ability of Taylor Swift.  Her songwriting skills are being sought by seasoned songwriters to bring her youthful relevance, energy, and creativity. Megan’s youthful spirit, combined with her mature sound and lyrical prowess, will be a fan favorite for audiences of all ages.  The only thing missing is her driver’s license. Megan has performed at numerous fairs and festivals around Colorado , and a number of renowned Nashville venues, as both an artist and songwriter. These venues include the world famous Bluebird Café,  12th and Porter, The Listening Room, and  many others. Megan’s fans and Nashville’s music business community are surprised when they find out just how mature and talented this teenager is.  Her stage presence and vocals, the depth of her songwriting, and her incredible focus and drive set her apart from the rest.” Visit http://www.meganredmond.com to learn more! Rev up your Autograph with Custom Signature Picks!

One of the more popular ideas for custom guitar picks from Clayton is to put your signature on the pick as the design or a portion of the design. Shown here are several examples of customers who liked this idea. This is a great way to personalize picks and they always come out looking really nice…no matter which pick material you choose. Signature picks can work really well if you are creating custom picks for a band and would like the band logo on one side, but each individual’s name on the other side. They also are perfect gifts for guitar players. All you have to do is figure out a sneaky way to get him/her to sign a piece of paper, then scan it, and upload the scan into our designer at www.claytoncustom.com. Try it out today!

NAMM 2011

We are back from a very busy NAMM show, and we wanted to share some photos from our booth this year! We had several artist signings including, Playmate Kassie Lyn, Twilight Saga Star Booboo Stewart and his siter Fivel, Kyle Gass and John Konesky of Tenacious D.  We will post more detailed information on all of our NAMM happenings soon!

The Neon Look

Today we wanted to show off a couple designs that were recently created and made on our black celluloid picks. Black celluloid is a somewhat new material for Clayton…it was added for custom design last year because we discovered that these picks can support some really nice designs, including ones with varying colors and sometimes intricate detail. Black celluloids are a glossy finish pick, and we have them available in three gauges; thin, (about .50mm) medium (about .80mm) and heavy (about 1.0mm). They can support single color white designs, or full color designs such as the ones shown below. We wanted to draw attention to these specific designs, because the customers who created them used a “glow” effect that makes the text look like neon lights, which happens to show up really nicely against the black background of the picks. So, if you like the look of these examples, check out our custom guitar pick design site and play around with your own black celluloid design today!
