Shine On…

Sometimes we get so caught up in featuring our different guitar pick and custom pick items, we forget to showcase our other guitar accessories! For example we offer two types of guitar polish; Pro Lemon Oil Polish and Pro Shine guitar polish. You may be wondering what the difference is between these two items and what would work best for you. Here is some further info:

Pro Lemon is an oil-based shine. It can be used to polish your guitar or piano, even your furniture, and condition your fret board.

The Pro Shine guitar polish is special, as it will not lead to any wax build-up from continual usage.

Both are non-toxic. Be sure to shake guitar polish before applying. Both products offer the same high quality finish for your guitar; it is just a matter of personal preference for which one is chosen.

To order your Pro Lemon or Pro Shine polish, visit http://www.steveclayton.com/polish.php today! Both items are available for only $4.98 per bottle!

Pick of the Week — Danny Lee

Danny Lee is an accomplished performer, writer, composer and instructor.  With over 40 years of musical background, Danny’s influences are diverse and quite eclectic.  His own musical style, though rock-oriented, displays this diversity in his own playing and compositions.  Adept on a multitude of instruments, Danny favors the guitar as it satiates his musical style with its rhythmic, percussive, electronic, and dynamic capabilities … enabling him to put his particular and vast musical taste on a palette with all the colors of his choosing.  Though still in demand as a performer, Danny has focused his attention on instruction of late, all the while still creating his own unique blend of recordings.  Chief among Danny’s influences include artists such as: Joe Satriani, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page just to mention a few. Danny currently resides in Dallas, Texas and still records in his home studio.  If you are looking for a hired gun on guitar, or interested in guitar, bass, keyboard or drum lessons you can contact Danny at  dannyleechatfield@gmail.com.

Danny’s custom design was printed on our acetal guitar picks. We love the bold look of the silhouette against the warm flame colors. On the back of the picks is a full flame background with Danny’s signature, which also is very eye-catching. For the design, the full bleed print option was utilized…meaning that the design goes all the way to the edge of the picks instead of having a small border around the edge of the art.

Geocache that Pick!

As many of you know, custom picks are not made solely for musicians. They are often used for advertising, weddings, and even as clasp-openers for jewelry. What we really love is when our customers can combine their love of music with other passions, and this is one of the most interesting combinations that we have heard of so far!

Lisa is “a 40-year-old mum shamelessly playing metal in the attic when the rest of the family is at school/work…” Her second hobby is geocaching. Geocaching is a sort of high-tech treasure hunt where people go looking for boxes hidden by other players with a GPS all over the world.
They are about 5 million players worldwide. One may find little objects in the “geocache” that they can trade with another little object.
Some players make a trading item with their geocaching nickname and drop it in the geocaches. This is where Lisa’s “signature items” come in. Lisa decided, because of her love for electric guitar, that a customized pick would be the perfect treasure: it relates to her, fits easily even in small caches, and is original.
Lisa’s geocaching name is “Mirage Breton” meaning, in French, “Mirage from Brittany”.
Brittany being a region of France heavily influenced by Celtic culture- hence the Triskell design you can partially see on the pick- which represents land, sea and fire.
Lisa writes: “I’m thrilled by the quality of the picks and I have an immense pleasure playing my guitar with ‘my own picks’. I’m also enjoying the fact that these picks are now traveling all over the earth (I travel a lot) and puzzling fellow geocachers…”

Lisa’s picks were made on our white pearl pick material, which gives that 3-D iridescent effect to her design. Order your own custom picks today at www.claytoncustom.com!
