They have a playful attitude towards writing that allows them to find a truly special way of doing what they do best! Through the last three years they have gone from being just another name in Copenhagen’s underground into the strong live act they are today, as well as Danish Metal Awards winners. The band was formed by Dennis Leszkowicz and Jonathan Albrechtsen in 2006.

Eli Amey of The Wranglers

We just recently endorsed Eli Amey of The Wranglers! The Wranglers are one of Northwest Arkansas’ hottest country, party bands. In addition to performing in many live venues in the region and out west, The Wranglers have been regulars for the Walmart Shareholders Convention and Bikes, Blues, and BBQ both of which are held in Fayetteville, AR. They have also worked numerous weddings, private and corporate parties, and fraternity parties. The Wranglers are dedicated to the dancers. While staying true to the traditional honky tonk country that we all know and love, The Wranglers will include varieties of Top 40 Country, Red Dirt, Southern Rock, and Blues. They want everyone to leave happy and know that they have witnessed top quality, professional entertainment. (Biography from The Wranglers website). Click here to visit their website!

9giants

We wanted to share with you that we have just recently endorsed Eric Hulstedt and David Plagman of the band 9 Giants. David has been using our picks for 15 years now! We also wanted to share the band’s bio:

Formed in the summer of 2009 by accomplished songwriters Eric Hulstedt (Vocals/Guitar), Mark Matson (Electronics) and David Plagman (Guitar), 9giants started as a project to complete some of the musical ideas Eric and Mark had created from previous writing sessions. Greg Naylor (Drums) joined on soon after to boost the energy of the live shows.

Drawing from a wide range of influences and production, the 9giants sound is a high-energy mixture of electronics, loops, beats, samples, and guitars.

“Enano”, their debut EP, features their first single “Monster Mouth” which has already gained industry attention. 9giants will release their “Zwerg” and “Purduris” EP’s late 2010/early 2011.

All 3 EP’s were recorded, mixed, and mastered by Mark Matson and 9giants at their world-class studio facility. Mark Matson has engineered and produced music for Sheryl Crow, Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack, Kristine W, Jersey Boys, Activision, and Wayne Newton.

“Our goal is to release a 4 song EP every 4 months.” Says Plagman “We are always writing and recording new material.”

9giants also films and produces their music videos.

“All of us are really into sci-fi, music, film, TV and technology. We love to create in all mediums. We are fortunate to have the ability to explore all avenues of creativity, whether it is writing music or filming music videos.” says Hulstedt “We have surrounded ourselves with highly-creative people who we care about and are having a great time doing what we love.”

I loved their song “Monster Mouth”, and so did a lot of our staff in the custom department we all had it stuck in our heads after listening to it :). They also have a really awesome Dexter based music video for it (just a warning there is some blood in the video) on their website. Check 9giants out at the following links:

Brent Ashley

We just recently endorsed Brent Ashley. Brent has in the music scene for over 12 years now. He played bass for the second  half of Tim Skold’s side project Skold. They recorded half an album and did a few shows but that came to a halt when Tim joined Marilyn Manson as their new bass player. Brent also played in the band Leisure which was signed to Dreamworks, they toured for about 6 months in support of bands like CKY, The All American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, and The Revolution Smile. For the last 6 years Brent has been playing Bass in the band The Dreaming. The Dreaming is signed to FOF/EMI records and their second album Drowning in Silence will be released this winter. Their first album Etched in Blood was self-released in 2009 and sold close to 20,000 copies in Best Buy and Hot Topic. Their music rocks! I especially loved their song “Dead to me” and “It’s no good”. Check The Dreaming out at their myspace. Brent uses our Acetal Rounded Triangle picks in 1.26mm gauge. We are very thrilled to have Brent on our endorsed artist program!

Shannon Shelby of Eternal Vision

We have been making Shannon’s picks for a few years now and they have been a staff favorite! We just love the guitar on his picks which looks like his very own “Heavenly Cloud” guitar which he plays at every show. You can see his guitar in his photo here and also his signature picks we just printed for him. Shannon uses our white pearl in 1.00mm. Shannon has been playing instruments since he was 3 years old! He joined the christian band Eternal Vision in 1997. Eternal Vision plays around 300 dates a year, to see their schedule visit their website. Here is what Shannon had to say about our picks: “Clayton picks are of superior quality, and produce a better tone than any other picks I’ve ever used. I sell the same custom Clayton Picks that I use, to my fans. I wouldn’t sell anything to them that wasn’t the best. Clayton’s products and customer service are the best in the business. Anytime you hear or see me play…. I’ll be using Clayton guitar picks.” – Shannon Shelby of Eternal Vision

Mathias Anderle

Mathis Anderle just recently became endorsed by us. He has been using our guitar picks as long as he can remember. Mathias uses our Acetal 1.52mm and Stone 2.00mm picks. His custom picks which are featured here are printed on our Acetal 1.52mm material. We really love the colorful design he chose! Mathias is one busy guy! He is a singer, songwriter, actor and model. Mathias was born in Puyallup, WA (as a side note he wrote this on his myspace which some of us found hilarious “sorry girls, that’s nowhere near Forks, home to another famous, but immortal teen…”). His first single “Shine On” is featured on KIDZ BOP 17. Mathias also landed the role of Colin—the male lead in the upcoming TeenNick movie, “School Gyrls”—co-starring Justin Bieber, Kristinia DeBarge and Soulja Boy.

You can Read more about Mathias on his myspace here: http://www.myspace.com/mathiasanderlemusic#ixzz0zjwYBU6q

Interview with Patrick Vega

Patrick Vega just did an interview with Jason of Rock Zone. We just wanted to share his interview and also thank him for all the kind words on our picks! Patrick was just endorsed by us earlier this year.

1.  Patrick, I know that you endorse Steve Clayton Custom Made Guitar Picks.  First off all, could you please share with our readers how you first met Steve Clayton and what it was about Steve and his company that impressed you the most?

Someone gave me a Clayton pick at a rehearsal studio in downtown L.A. once. I remember that night very well, ’cause the guy had a 9mm pistol sitting on his amp and there was a house on fire across the street:) True story. Anyway, I tried it and liked it. That was my introduction to Clayton.

2.  You have gone online and basically let everyone know how much you think of Steve Clayton’s Guitar picks. What is it about these guitar picks that you find to be so impressive?

Claytons last much longer than most other guitar picks. And I have tried many of them. Most guitar picks wear down easily and I do play a lot and before having found the Claytons it was like this: I always ended up with like a third of the pick after like a few weeks of playing -most picks seemed to almost vaporize!  Also, I like designing things and Clayton has that really cool pick designer on the Clayton website where you can choose whichever pick you want. The gauge, the color and even upload your own art and insert text. How cool is that I like that sort of thing. I have a bunch of tattoos and my logo and stuff that I put on picks and I always make a design for each new release, featuring either the cover art or the font of my albums. That is how the Patrick Vega Signature Guitar Pick Series was born.

3.  As far as your custom guitar picks Patrick, do you get to come up with the

designs for the Guitar Picks or does Steve Clayton have someone who

comes up with the idea as far as the artwork/design of these guitar picks?

There are a lot of pictures and designs you can use that are pre-made by Clayton, but my picks are all me. I just received the new guitar picks that I designed in commemoration of the release of my new record ANIMA. Those designs are the first ones officially sponsored by Guitar Picks by Steve Clayton Inc. and turned out really cool.

4.  What has been your biggest seller of these guitar picks so far?

The awesome thing about a guitar pick is that it’s not only a very personal item to give away to fans (everybody loves picks) but that it is actually a highly collectible item. Especially since I do a design for each release. Plus they are being shipped out with every order of Pickbay Guitar Pick pendants which I am also endorsed by. I actually design the picks around the Pickbays, so they nicely fit in the pendants.

5.  Do you have a favorite Patrick Vega guitar pick that Steve Clayton makes?

For playing purposes I exclusively use the Clayton “Acetal”, 1.00mm gauge picks. I am after all a pretty technical player and use a lot of picking. Heavier gauge picks just seem to have a better string response; they don’t bend. I use Clayton’s standard shape. As a give away it varies. Clayton makes many cool designs so that enables me to always change it up a bit and come up with something really cool and exciting every time. For example, one of the new designs is a really cool black celluloid, medium gauge pick, featuring my logo, website and the original ANIMA font.

6.  How can our readers find out more about these custom guitar picks?

7.  As a Guitar Player, Patrick, what do you see as the advantage of having your own signature guitar picks?

Guitar picks are pretty important and actually a very underrated piece of gear (everyone is sooooo very particular about gauge, shape and material). Guitar picks are a very personal item/accessory for a guitar player. It makes a huge difference in your playing and also they’re like a tiny business card!

I always seem to lose a lot of picks, they end up everywhere (I usually find a bunch of them in the car, or the couch, or the washer or the dryer after doing laundry). And I always give some out at clinics and shows. People dig it. It’s something you can take home from a show and keep as a little souvenir. I still have all the signature picks that I caught at shows or clinics and it’s a cool thing to have. The guys actually used them to play the stuff you dig so much. Guitar picks rule.

Autographs and Signatures For Custom Guitar Picks

For fans of all kinds signatures are always something to collect. Some artists will actually sign their guitar picks at shows while many others will have them made on their custom guitar picks. A lot of signatures have been placed on our white delrins as you can see in this photo the white delrin brings out the signatures the best.  The great thing about our designer is you can easily adjust the size of your own signature to the picks. Just scan your signature, save it on your computer and then place it on your favorite custom guitar pick. I’d also suggest using a marker to make the signature standout. Make your custom guitar picks today!

The Classic Crime Signs With Steve Clayton

The Classic Crime has now signed with Steve Clayton. We are excited to support such a talented band from the Seattle area. Vagabonds debuted as the #4 best selling Rock album on Itunes and was as high as #20 on the top overall 100 albums on Itunes.  The band has nearly 10 million plays on Myspace. Bassist Alan Clark talks about why he chooses Steve Clayton Picks “I started using Clayton acetal triangle (.88 mm) picks 5 years ago when we started touring as The Classic Crime. The picks I was using before did not feel comfortable for my style of bass playing. I needed something with a little bit more surface to hold on to. The triangle shaped really helps because it doesn’t matter if the pick turns on me It’s the same shape all around. I’ve only broken one for the 5 years I’ve been playing them. I actually lose them or sign them for fans before they get worn out or break. So I’ve never used them to their full potential.” If you would like to learn more about The Classic Crime be sure to check out their website http://www.theclassiccrime.com/.

Rounded Triangles. More Design Space And a Unique Look

We don’t just have standard shape picks for your designs. Checkout these rounded triangle picks these customers came up with. The rounded triangle picks are very popular as you can tell from our featured artist stories. Many bass players and guitar players will pick the rounded triangle shape to give them a little more surface to hold while playing. These picks also provide more space for your design than our standard shape picks. With these larger picks you are also able to enlarge your design or sort of like, zoom in on the design and make it easier to see. The picks in the picture here are with the materials ultem, green delrin, acetal, white pearl, and an orange delrin. These picks customers designed had lots of info such as business name, phone number, and websites to promote themselves. In the claytoncustom.com site once you pick the material you’ll then see what pick shapes come in that material. If you have questions feel free to email us at questions@steveclayton.com or contact our custom design team at 877.752.9484.

We are looking forward to his year with the hall of famers and wish the best luck! To find out more about Robert Kearns and Lynyrd Skynyrd you can visit their website www.lynyrdskynyrd.com
