We had to write a blog about this, because we have noticed that, lately, we have received numerous custom guitar pick orders for weddings that are on October 10, 2010. We have already discovered that custom guitar picks can be a very popular idea for use in weddings, and now we have even more wedding pick orders for this special date that is approaching! If you are planning a 10/10/10 wedding, or a wedding on any date in the near future, you should consider adding custom guitar picks to your planning. They can be used in save-the-dates, invitations, as favors for guests, as part of the decorations….you name it! Shown here are a couple of examples of some of the designs that we have gotten lately. We especially like the design for the ultem pick (on the right), because ultem is not a commonly chosen material for weddings, but this design looks awesome! The tan color of the ultem picks are great for weddings in autumn. They can support designs with red, brown, or black colors, so if these colors are in your wedding scheme, give ultems a try! The most popular choice for custom guitar picks is, hands down, our standard shape picks. But some guitarists prefer our rounded triangle picks. These are oversized shaped picks, with equilateral sides. Many guitar players like the larger size of these picks because they are easier to hold on to. This shape is available in a few of our different pick materials. We have rounded triangle in our colored delrin, acetal, ultem, colored pearl and white pearl material. Many designers also like to choose this shape simply for the fact that a rounded triangle pick will allow for more design space. Shown here are examples of designs that came out really well and were well-suited for this pick shape. So, if you would like to try something new, design your rounded triangle pick today at www.claytoncustom.com

Did you know that Clayton can customize guitar picks using full color photos? We can!! Shown here are some examples of custom guitar pick designs submitted by our customers who chose to use photos of themselves to customize their picks. We can do full color or greyscale photos on any of our white material picks. In this photo, all three white pick materials that we offer for customization are represented; white pearl, white delrin, and acetal (left to right). The photo on the far left was a perfect match for our white pearl picks, because it has water in the background and the marbleized material added the perfect effect. The photo in the middle was converted to greyscale for a classic look, and the photo on the right looks fantastic on our acetal material. Custom guitar picks with personal photos on them can be a great promotional item for solo artists or bands. Photos can also be perfect for wedding guitar picks! Upload your photo into our custom design interface today at www.claytoncustom.com.

Looking to add some variety and warmth to your custom guitar picks? Try switching your design color to brown! Lately we have noticed some very nice brown designs being submitted by our customers, and we wanted to show them off. If you are creating a custom design for our colored picks, you are limited to using black only, but if you are working with any of our white picks, or our ultems, you are open to a whole new set of color choices! Shown in the image here are a white delrin pick, an acetal pick, an ultem pick, and another acetal (left to right). The design on the white delrin is a full color, full bleed design, which means that the design runs all the way to the edge of the pick. The acetal picks represent both a full color and single color design. The ultem is a great example of how a brown design can look great against the tan color, since ultems may have black, red, and/or brown printed on them. So, if you are thinking that black is out and brown is in, try your custom design today at www.claytoncustom.com!

Are you looking for a bright pick that will catch people’s attention? Or maybe you just want a very specific color for your guitar picks? Give our colored pearls a try! We offer colored delrin custom guitar picks, but sometimes we find that customers are looking for a very specific color that is not available in delrin. Also, the colors of the delrins are dictated by the gauges (for example, red = .5mm gauge), but sometimes someone is looking for a color of pick in a different gauge than the one offered for colored delrin. This is when we recommend the colored pearls because they come in a very wide variety of colors, and several gauges. For our colored pearl picks, we offer .3, .5, .63, .8, 1, 1.26, and we have both standard and rounded triangle shapes. Colored pearls make great wedding picks, because they can be matched to the color scheme of the wedding, and they have a classy, marbleized look. Design your custom colored pearls today…but don’t forget to make sure that your design is in black ink only!! Custom Design Site.

Are you looking to design a custom guitar pick, and you have a very specific color in mind? We want you to know that if you are designing a Clayton custom pick, and your choice of pick material is white, you are able to choose single color printing and have any color you want on your custom guitar picks! Shown here are the three types of white guitar picks that we offer, which include white delrin, acetal, and white pearl. Most customers who are choosing a single color design will pick black, but these are examples of customers who wanted another color for the print, and the pricing is the same! To have this option, all you have to do is choose “one color” for the print color options in our custom design page, and then click on the color box to choose which color you want for the print. If you use text in your custom pick design, the text will automatically be the color that you choose. If you have a graphic, the Clayton team will convert it to the color that you want! This can be an especially great option for wedding picks. Sometimes, the colors of picks that we offer do not match exact wedding colors. So, instead, you can choose a white pick and have your design printed in a color that matches the wedding scheme perfectly! Design your custom pick today at www.claytoncustom.com

Check out these great pick designs from Clayton customers who want to use custom picks to support their nationality! Clayton is proud to say that we send our guitar accessories to customers all over the world, and these designs prove it! We think that using a symbol of a country, such as a flag or a tagline, is a great way to add that personal touch to custom guitar picks. There are a couple
different pick types shown in the image here. The two picks with flag designs on them (Spain and the United Kingdom) are both white delrin picks, which are great for showing off the bright colors of the flags. The middle pick, which says “Rock in France” is a white pearl pick, which is appropriate for the more subdued colors of this design. Both of the customers who created the flag designs used the full bleed option in the pick designer, so that the artwork was able to spread all the way to the edge of the pick. Thank you to those who submitted these designs, we had fun producing them! If you are interested in designing a custom pick that shows your national pride, visit www.clatyoncustom.com today!

Sometimes, less is more, and this can definitely be true when designing Clayton custom picks. We wanted to show off these designs, because the simplicity of the artwork actually draws more attention to them. The customers who designed these picks all chose to use a silhouette design, which will look great on any pick material that Clayton offers for custom design. This is a great way to have a single color print (which is less expensive than full color) and still have a cool graphic to make the picks personal. Some customers will choose to put photos on their picks, while others will use a silhouette version of a person, such as the faces shown on the picks here. The glasses and beard on one pick, and the hair on the other pick, are distinctive enough to convey a specific personality without using a full color photo. Other graphics work great for silhouettes too, such as the pumpkin or the guitar and shark shown here. With this kind of design, the customer is able to choose his/her favorite pick material and not worry if it will work with the design or not. Shown here are ultem, and white, pink and green delrin picks. If you would like to try your own custom silhouette design, visit our Clayton Custom site today!

When customers submit designs to Steve Clayton to get printed onto custom guitar picks, many want to use beautiful designs with a lot of color in them. For the most part, we can only offer full color printing on our white picks, and any of our colored picks must have only black printing. The exception are our ultem picks. Ultems are a classic looking pick, with a light tan color that give them a rustic, almost-wooden appearance. Guitar players love them for the clear sound quality that they provide and the non-slip feel of the material itself. And, even though ultems are not white, we are able to print more than one color on them. Ultem picks can have any design that includes black, brown, and/or red colors. All three of these colors look great against the tan of the pick. Shown here is a perfect example of a full color ultem design. As you can see, the three colors were used to great effect on this logo and the detail in the design came out perfectly. Ultem picks are a versatile material that we have available in three different shapes and eight different gauges. You can design your custom Clayton ultem pick at www.claytoncustom.com. Don’t be afraid to use all three colors either, because with ultems, the full color and single color pricing are the same!! Have fun!

Sometimes at Clayton, Inc., we get a custom pick design that comes out so well, we just want to show it off! Here is an example of one of these designs. This design is for a company called Innovative Knowledge, and we love the color scheme of the artwork. On the front of the pick is the company name with the logo that they use, and on the back is a two-word description of the company (educational software), and the slogan that ties the company with these guitar picks: “It Rocks.” This is a perfect example of how a non-music related business can still effectively use guitar picks as a promotional item. They also did a great job at including the information about the company that they wanted without filling up the guitar pick with too much tiny text. This design was placed on our white delrin picks, which was a perfect choice. The bright white of the white delrin material is best for making bright colors, such as those in this design, really pop out. Delrin is also recommended over acetal picks if the design is two sided, because the white delrins do not have any transparency. White delrin picks are available in three gauges: .8, 1, and 1.26mm. They are only available in standard shape, but they can have single or full color printing. Show off your awesome design skills by working with our custom design interface at www.claytoncustom.com.
