Sometimes at Clayton, Inc., we get a custom pick design that comes out so well, we just want to show it off! Here is an example of one of these designs. This design is for a company called Innovative Knowledge, and we love the color scheme of the artwork. On the front of the pick is the company name with the logo that they use, and on the back is a two-word description of the company (educational software), and the slogan that ties the company with these guitar picks: “It Rocks.” This is a perfect example of how a non-music related business can still effectively use guitar picks as a promotional item. They also did a great job at including the information about the company that they wanted without filling up the guitar pick with too much tiny text. This design was placed on our white delrin picks, which was a perfect choice. The bright white of the white delrin material is best for making bright colors, such as those in this design, really pop out. Delrin is also recommended over acetal picks if the design is two sided, because the white delrins do not have any transparency. White delrin picks are available in three gauges: .8, 1, and 1.26mm. They are only available in standard shape, but they can have single or full color printing. Show off your awesome design skills by working with our custom design interface at www.claytoncustom.com.
It is very popular for customers of Steve Clayton, Inc. to order custom guitar picks for a wedding. We have seen them used for many purposes, such as scattering on tables, favors for guests, part of wedding invitations, etc. One idea that we really like is to use custom picks for groomsmen gifts. During the preparation for the wedding, it is common for a groom to want to give a gift to his groomsmen as a thank you for their participation in the wedding. If the groom and his pals are into music, custom picks are the perfect way to give a thank-you that is both creative and practical! Custom picks allow for the names or initials of the groomsmen to go on the picks, along with the date of the wedding, and maybe a graphic that adds to the design. It is even possible to add custom picks onto the boutonnières of the groomsmen for weddings that have a music theming. Shown here are two examples of groomsmen pick designs, created for green delrin and white delrin picks. If the groom and his guys have been in a band together, the band name can also go on the pick (see the white delrin design). This can add a special significance to these gifts that show appreciation for the friends that help pull the wedding together. If you have a wedding coming up and are looking for something special to add, design your wedding picks today at www.claytoncustom.com.

This week we have selected a very creative and colorful guitar pick from a band called Victory By Revenge We selected this custom guitar pick, because we loved the vintage colors and worn look. It was printed on our Acetal material and it turned out great. Below is their Bio from their myspace page:
“Formed in 2006 as underclassmen in high school, Victory By Revenge are five friends from Howard County, Maryland who radiate positivity through their music as well as in their everyday lives. The boys are now newcomers to the college life but their love for touring has them chomping at the bit for semesters to end and their love affair with the road to commence. Releasing their first EP, First Date Mistakes, in November of 2008, it took VBR some time to find their sound but since then they have accomplished so much because of their hands-on, persistent, and “go get ‘em” attitude. Their sugary sweet hooks about parties and high school will have you singing into the closest hairbrush for days. To read more check out their Myspace Page at: http://www.myspace.com/victorybyrevenge

Our custom picks have excellent picture quality and we just thought we’d share a couple performers who have chosen to place their photo on our custom picks. We recommend photos to be put on our acetal picks. Customers have used photos for wedding occasions, couples, and band members who are promoting themselves. On the back side of these picks customers will have their signatures, band website, names and dates for weddings or special occasions. These picks here all have the full bleed option taking the image to the edge of the pick that way they are able to fit more on the pick.
The designer is really simple to use to adjust your artwork or photo image. You can zoom in on a particular part of an image, move it around and make it fit just on the guitar pick template. As a suggestion when placing lettering in a photo try to find a spot where the lettering has a solid background so it is legible just like the ones on these picks. If you need help with sizing your photo or getting artwork to fit on the guitar picks please send us your questions at questions@steveclayton.com. Our custom design team will be happy to help you with any questions you have on an order. You may also call us at 1.877.752.9484 M-F 9am-5pm PST.
We don’t just have standard shape picks for your designs. Checkout these rounded triangle picks these customers came up with. The rounded triangle picks are very popular as you can tell from our featured artist stories. Many bass players and guitar players will pick the rounded triangle shape to give them a little more surface to hold while playing. These picks also provide more space for your design than our standard shape picks. With these larger picks you are also able to enlarge your design or sort of like, zoom in on the design and make it easier to see. The picks in the picture here are with the materials ultem, green delrin, acetal, white pearl, and an orange delrin. These picks customers designed had lots of info such as business name, phone number, and websites to promote themselves. In the claytoncustom.com site once you pick the material you’ll then see what pick shapes come in that material. If you have questions feel free to email us at questions@steveclayton.com or contact our custom design team at 877.752.9484.
This week we selected a beautiful pencil sketch that we reproduced on our Acetal guitar picks by Dylan Duncan. Dylan explained the purpose of the bicycle on his pick to us below: “The bicycle art and Bicycle on the Ice song on the record, is inspired by an old photograph taken in 1962 by my dad in Vermont. It’s a great photo of a bicycle alone on an iced over lake and the feeling I got from the picture seemed to take on a whole new meaning that related to my own life. At the time I was feeling like I didn’t belong where I was currently living and so when I stumbled upon the lone bicycle on the ice, I realized it, too, didn’t belong where it was. I felt the need to write about it and it became one of the central themes and inspired the album artwork, including corresponding materials like
buttons and these guitar picks.“ We thought this was an amazing way to let your music be inspired, even by the most unexpected things. Dylan has an album set to be released this summer called What To Keep & Let Go. He currently has a great blog that you can follow while he creates his album located at: http://www.dylanduncan.com/whattokeep
A new 5 piece progressive metal rock band named “Tallboy” becomes endorsed by Clayton. Tallboy is a band from Medford, OR.
