“Since the international success of his 2003 self-produced demo, Patrick DeCoste (pronounced “De-Coast”) has caught the attention of music fans across the globe. His highly anticipated, full-length debut, “Inside
The Unsaid”, arrived a year later to much acclaim: “A cool CD filled with all types of guitar wizardry,” beamed Robert Silverstein, editor of “20th Century Guitar” magazine. In May 2005, Guitar9.com featured the CD in the top 5 of their Best Sellers Rock chart alongside Grammy instrumentalists Eric Johnson & Steve Morse. Fresh off his 2008 Artist of the Year nomination from Q’s House Radio Show (Orlando, FL), Patrick DeCoste followed the acclaim with a CD release show at the famed Hard Rock Cafe (Boston) celebrating the launch of his 2009 EP. Along the way, his music has managed to catch the attention of Grammy-Nominated artists as well as Boston premier’s rock station, WAAF, where he was named “one of the area’s most under-rated guitarists”. Since that time, DeCoste has performed throughout the New England and the Southern California areas opening for such major label artists as Johnny A., Lori McKenna and Gary Hoey (“He stands out, has a professional attitude and great work ethic… plus, he’s a good guy too,” Hoey’s quick to add). Outside of the clubs, sports fans have been treated to DeCoste’s live version of the “Star Spangled Banner” at Shea Stadium and the Boston Garden while theater-goers heard his chops in the orchestra pit of the Grammy-winning musical, “Hairspray”. Not bad for someone who actually lets his music do the talking.”

As many of you already know, Bret Michaels is one of our featured endorsed artists. Bret Michaels started his career as the lead singer of the metal band Poisen. He also starred in the hit shows, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels , its sequels, and was the winning contestant on NBC’s reality show Celebrity Apprentice 3. He now tours the country with The Bret Michaels Band, and we were lucky enough to have him appear in our home of the Rogue Valley in Oregon! Needless to say, the Clayton team made it a priority to go to his concert and meet him in person. All of us had a fabulous time watching Bret, and his band members Dirty Ray and Pete Evick who we also supply guitar picks for. They put on a rockin’ show and we had the opportunity to meet him and take a photo after the concert was over. A big thanks to Bret, Ray, and Pete and other members of the band and tour group. We love working with you!!

The week’s Pick of the Week was created for the band The Dirty Flirts. The Dirty Flirts were born out of

the love of being an avid Runaways fan and lover of Female Fronted Bands in the Punk/Rock genres. Momma Dukes (drummer) flirted (ha ha) with the idea with Dawn Sweet (Lead Vox) and after seeking out other like-minded dirty flirts like themselves they found another talented Fem Fatale “T” (Rhythm Axe), and one energized rocker Rob Luv (Lead Axe). Having a bass player issue…, and gone through two so far since the bands’ inception, they found their permanent bass player Lorenzo who, despite being a generation younger, loves their choice of music and is an enthusiastic as well as talented addition to the Dirty Flirts. With enough practice under their chastity ;-P belts they had a very well received debut gig and are presently rockin at select gigs! Because all of the members’ lifestyles have always included music in some form or another, this band was a natural fit for them, as well as for the next generation of rock and rollers. Their fans are peers in the industry, so when they are at a gig, it suddenly becomes a live jam that all the crazed groupies love being a part of, whether it’s on the stage jamming or dancing and grabbing each other during the shows. So leave your morals and your attitudes at the door and party with The Dirty Flirts!

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the Zero Recall band. “The band is relatively new, and is an all
out, fun time cover band from New York City. The members of the band are mostly financial services people during the day and closeted, wannabe rock and roll stars at night. The goal every time they play is to make awesome music and to make the crowd dance and sing along. They all come from different backgrounds and draw from many musical genres for their performances. They’re doing classic rock hits 70′s- 2k’s and they are starting to get a decent following. NY city bar based rock and roll is what they are delivering, and a good time is pretty much a guarantee!” To find out more about Zero Recall, visit their site at http://www.zerorecallband.com/ or check them out on Facebook! The Zero Recall band picks were made on our white pearl material, which gives the awesome flames in their design a nice 3D quality. To order your own custom picks, visit www.claytoncustom.com today!

This week’s Pick of the Week was made for the band Up a Creek. “Up a Creek is a Bellevue based shed
bred group of fellas playing Southern Idaho Folk ‘n Roll. Featuring original song writing, the band can best describe their music as a mix of folk and rock…Acoustic guitars. Electric guitars. Whats the difference? Its all in the story. These boys tell a lot of stories. Stories about lovers and losers, sinners and fools. Sifting through the pieces. Redemption always seeming to be just a bit out of reach. So come on out and join their friends and families for some drinkin and strummin small town honky tonkin! Just a few black eyes and angry wives!” Find out more about Up a Creek at http://upacreekmusic.com. The Up a Creek picks were made on our colored pearl guitar pick material. These picks can be custom color matched as well as having a custom design print. Up a Creek chose a rustic brown/red color that suites their style, and they feature their simple and clean black logo for a really professional look. During a time when Richmond was considered stock full of cookie cutter bands all striving for 15 minutes of fame, the club of “You Tubers” and screaming kids with tight jeans hanging from

theirbacksides; a new sound of southern country hard rock songs began to hit the streets and at the reigns of that sound was Steelshot. Steelshot was formed from a few riffs by guitarist/songwriter Jason Yarbrough who began by tinkering around with the southern sound of his influences such as Lynyrd Skynyrd to the new wave of heavy hard rock from Black Label Society and mixing those sounds into one. It wasn’t long after that his new project found a solid foundation with fellow musicians whose style seems to fit like puzzle pieces cut to match in all the right places. A familiar sound long forgotten by radio & mainstream media could be heard from the song room, yet breaking ground with a new genre; Country Metal was the result. This new sound, unforgettable to any listener within reach, is original and creative leaving you wanting more. After 3 years of lineup changes, break-ups and reconciliations the trials and tribulations have ended in perfection. From their long awaited debut self-titled EP release in the summer of 2011 there is “Alive Again” and “In Too Deep”, giving audiences hard hittingwhite-knuckle fast driving beats. Then there are the more southern or country rooted songs such as “Never Understand” and “Southern Pride” establishing the anthem sound that is Steelshot. The sky is limitless for these artists with intense ambition and drive, they are set continue to working on their seconded release for 2012 becoming their first full length collection of original new music. Steelshot has shared the stage with a various local and regional bands such as Bullistic, White Knuckle Battery, Memory Fade, Proverbial, Thunderbrew, Automag, Silvertung, as well as national acts Faultline, Zoso the Led Zeppelin Experience, Die Cast, Mensrea, and Lukas Nelson and the Promise of the Real just to name a few. Tired of the stock metal riffs and same repeated melodic leads, guitarist Jason Yarbrough felt something was missing; true down to earth rock n’ roll. After his years as a rhythm guitarist in Richmond groups Strikethrew and Transylvania Stud, he decided it was time to begin a new project which had no limits to genre or style. During the summer of 2008 Jason started sessions with long time friend, and classically trained jazz drummer Brian Shaw. After a few songs composed with just drums and guitar, a common friend suggested they give a tryout to local bassist Mike “Frog” Barham, whose low ended bass style comes from heavy metal 80’s groups who influenced him when he started performing at Chicago night clubs while still in high school. The first jam session is all it took and shortly thereafter they began working on ideas that would later become the standard sound for Steelshot, a new kind of southern country metal. “Never Understand”, “Southern Pride” and “In Too Deep” were the results and thus began the adventure. Fast forward a few months later and numerous new songs later, to the search for the voice that would later define the original sound of Steelshot; a singer who showed up with melodies and lyrics in hand. Enter Josh Duncan; a singer/songwriter whose voice can be heard on Nashville recordings and sessions with other country artists. His southern style and low noted country draw gives Steelshot the final touch that was needed to complete this power group of musicians. That December, Steelshot performed their debut show to a sold out New Years Eve event and with only 4 songs after 3 weeks with a final lineup. They performed with the talent of national artists and never stopped for the next year to follow. After numerous shows and a year of traveling between Richmond and New York the toll took its debt and drummer Brian Shaw was replaced for a short time with long time friend and fellow drummer Jon Ward (Faultline) who was able to keep the performances going until the break-up in late 2009. After a year of trying to work with new projects and no success, Jay called Mike and suggested they get together for a fun jam session of old times and good songs. Brian and Josh both returned and the original lineup began a few shows of what was thought to be just an affair for good times. But after attracting attention from labels and producers the 4 of them decided to finally record an EP and see what happens. Not long after the recordings, it was decided to add a second guitarist to perform to likeness of the EP on the live stage. Lee Waldron who was an open jam artist and friend of Josh’s filled in for a few performances but it was never a permanent relationship and he later left to persue his love for blues. As if that wasn’t more than enough hard times for Steelshot and their lineup stability, drummer Brian Shaw departed the band once again for personal reasons. It was not long after that drummer T.J. Sutherland from Pike Possum and guitarist Ryan Nuttle formerly of Boss Keen’s Ditch were hired on as full-time members. Finally, after the breaks and the lineup changes over the years, Steelshot began working on writing and demo recording sessions for their debut full length label release album set for sometime in 2012. *The self-titled EP “Steelshot” can be purchased at every show, online at iTunes, CD Baby and Amazon or by visiting their online store at
