Pick of the Week – Dead ‘Til Friday

With Halloween coming up at the end of this week, we couldn’t help but select this fun pick!  This pick is printed on our Acetal material. We love the skull with the top hat and bow.  Plus we love the pattern of pink polka dots! Such a creative mix of unique elements. This pick was designed by the band Dead ‘Til Friday. They are a five member band that does both cover and original Rock -n- Roll, based in South Florida. Here is a little blurb about them:  “Dead ‘Til Fridays’ live shows include an up-beat mix of classic to current hits – from pop to rock to R&B – that are fun, danceable and include some the best songs of all time. Fronted by a powerful, versatile female lead singer, Dead ‘Til Friday has an energetic stage performance, making them one of the most in-demand party bands around. The secret to their success is their full rich sound, stage presence and youthful energy.” Make sure to check out their website to find more information about them at: www.deadtilfriday.com

Pick of the Week – Deadbeat Darling

This is a great logo on a great pick! This simple, yet creative logo looks so nice on our Acetal guitar pick. Below is a description all about Deadbeat Darling. “Equal parts mischief and bliss, eloquence and irreverence, Deadbeat Darling is a New York City-based rock band whose music shimmers with hints of dub and electronica, and has thus far inspired a rabid and eclectic  fanbase solely upon word of mouth. They released their debut full length album “Weight of Wandering”during the Summer of 2009, followed by a sold out show at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and a run of album release shows throughout Texas and the Midwest…” To find out more about this band visit their website.  Also make sure to check out their creative video below.

Pick of the Week – Hourcast

This week we have a nice Acetal Rounded Triangle.  We love how the band Hourcast designed this pick. It looks just like their website! It has nice deep dark colors of black and red with a blue undertone. Hourcast is a rock band out of Boston.  They just released their new album Dystopia, and are currently on tour throughout the nation. To find out if they will be in a city near you visit their tour itenerary.

Shaken

Tommy, Matthew and Shane of Shaken are newly endorsed by us! They have been using our yellow and green delrin guitar picks for years now, and have also used Acetal .80mm. Shaken is a rock/metal christian band from Mississippi.  Here is Shaken’s bio from their Facebook, which we suggest you go to their Facebook or Myspace to check them out!

“In an industry where fads seemingly come and go as quickly as night and day, It is difficult to find a group of musicians whom have been able to endure the rigors of touring, and the everyday life of being in a serious band beyond a couple years. Shaken is one of the few exceptions to this trend. Having been playing music together for nearly 7 years, these guys have seen countless fads, scenes, and bands rise and fall with the tides of an ever-changing industry, only to press on, and continue to pursue the passion that God blessed them with. Driven by God’s grace and a passion to minister to people by showing them the everlasting love of Jesus Christ, Shaken strives to create music that others can enjoy, while constantly progressing, and adding their unique flavor to whatever they write. With nearly 400 shows, 3 full length albums, 2 EPs, and countless demos behind them, and a brand new 5 song EP produced by Travis Wyrick (POD, Pillar, Disciple, Toby Mac, Spoken, 10 Years Etc) coming soon, it is a safe bet that Shaken will not only continue to solidify their status as a mainstay in the music community, but also push to make their mark on anyone who is willing to listen to their music and message.”

Double the fun!

Sometimes, there just isn’t enough space on one side of a guitar pick to put everything you want on it, especially since guitar picks are so small! This is why we offer the double-sided printing option for most of our guitar picks. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Shown in these images are examples of double-sided guitar pick designs. The blue design is on our acetal material pick, and the customer chose to just duplicate the same design on both sides of the pick. The green design was done on acetal material as well, with a band logo on one side and a signature on the other. This is an awesome idea, because then you can order picks for several band members with the band logo on one side, but different signatures for different musicians on the back side. We don’t always recommend double-sided printing for our acetal picks since they are semi-transparent, but on both of these picks, the designs came out really well. The red design is for a wedding pick, and it is on our white pearl material. Double-sided printing is perfect for weddings, because you can have a graphic on one side of the pick, and the names of the couple and date of the wedding on the other side. To utilize the double-sided printing option, all you have to do is access our guitar pick designer at www.claytoncustom.com. Once you choose the pick material you would like, the interface will list your guitar pick options. If you mark the bubble for two-sided printing, you get twice the design space!

Scarred by Beauty

Daniel and Asser of Scarred by Beauty just recently became endorsed by us! Scarred by Beauty is a metal band from Copenhagen, Denmark. They have a playful attitude towards writing that allows them to find a truly special way of doing what they do best! Through the last three years they have gone from being just another name in Copenhagen’s underground into the strong live act they are today, as well as Danish Metal Awards winners. The band was formed by Dennis Leszkowicz and Jonathan Albrechtsen in 2006.

Love Metal? Check out their Myspace for more of Scarred by Beauty!

Pick of the Week – Sixteen Cities

This week we have an awesome White Delrin Guitar pick, with full color imprinting.  The bright colors of this graphic, look really sharp on this pick. Sixteen Cities is a really amazing pop-rock band from Portland, OR.  Not too far away from us here in Talent, OR.  This band, just recently had their album “Pray You Through” featured on a recent episode of the popular WB show “One Tree Hill”.  They are currently on tour with the band Remedy Drive, and will be touring all over the South and Midwest.  If you are in any of those areas, make sure to check out their tour schedule.  For more information on this band visit their website at: www.sixteencities.com or check them out on their Facebook page.

GodSpeed3

Recently endorsed band GodSpeed3 is a christian rock band from Mississippi.  Travis was born in Picayune, Mississippi. He grew up listening to Elvis Presley and watching his movies. He took up guitar and has been playing lead guitar for about 25 years now. He toured with a professional band who opened for artists like Lee Roy Parnell, The Kentucky Headhunters, Leann Rimes and Restless heart. When he isn’t playing guitar Travis likes to go camping, four wheel riding, watch movies, or play golf. Above all he relishes spending time with his wife and two children. John was born in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida but moved to Picayune, Mississippi when he was 4 years old. He did not start playing musical instruments until he picked up a guitar in seventh grade. John has developed a deep love for music. He has played and taught guitar for 16 years. Throughout school and college he played in several bands. One of his bands put out a CD in 2005, played in many famous venues and opened for Loverboy at six flags in New Orleans just days before Katrina hit. Unfortunately, the next few months were very challenging and the band disbanded. Travis called John years later to ask if he could fill in for their rhythm guitarist who was being deployed to the Middle East, and has been with the band since.

You can check GodSpeed3 out at their website, myspace and facebook.
