Clayton Custom Pick of the Week!

This week we selected Erich Church’s pick for our pick of the week.  Eric is a very acclaimed American country music singer and songwriter.  In 2006 he released his debut album Sinners Like Me.  That album produced an amazing total of four chart singles on the Billboard country charts, including the Top 20 hits “How ‘Bout You,” “T wo Pink Lines” and “Guys Like Me.” His second album, 2009’s Carolina, has produced two more singles: “Love Your Love the Most,” his first Top Ten hit, and “Hell on the Heart.”  Eric is also one of our Endorsed artists and uses our Delrin standard 1.00mm. However this week he ordered some of our Rounded Triangle Pearl Celluloid picks to try out. Our pearl picks are great for promotion since they have a beautiful mother of pearl look to them.  People can see them very easily when thrown off stage. We love Eric’s roughed up styled logo in black.  Not shown, is our Eagle logo on the back of his picks.  If you want to become an endorsed artist like Eric please click here for details.  To find out more about Eric Church click below:

John Konesky in the spotlight with Clayton

We are excited to announce the new signed artist John Konesky!   Konesky is the guitarist for Tenacious D and also the band Trainwreck. Trainwreck was so impressed with Konesky’s guitar skills and his character that they wrote a song about his talent.  Tenacious D also referred to him as the anti chirst because of his shredding abilities on the guitar.

Konesky has also co-wrote a song on Guitar Hero III called “The Metal.” He also appears on  Tenacious D’s 2008 concert video and their documentary titled, “The Complete Master Works 2.”  He has performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Saturday Night Live, and the American Music Awards 2006.  John currently uses our Acetal .80mm.

We are all looking forward to hearing more of John’s performances rocking through the 2010 year!  Be sure to check back for information regarding our endorsed artists and more on John Konesky.

Clayton Custom Pick of the Week!

Here at Clayton, Inc, we have decided to feature a custom pick each week from now forward! We think this is a great way to showcase many of the great picks we make for bands every day.  Keep checking in each week to see a new featured pick and band from us.

This week we selected a pick we made for the Nancy Kenyon Band.  We loved how colorful and detailed this pick turned out on our white delrin .80mm material. It is a great example that shows what amazing detail and color we can produce onto a guitar pick.  We also enhanced this pick by using glossy ink to really make the graphic “pop” on the pick. We had a great time learning more about Nancy Kenyon and her high energy female country style.   She has been doing acoustic style shows for over 15 years! Now within the past few years she has a full band and is starting to do big venues. Her next notable show will be at Jillian’s in Albany, NY, which will be an after party for Carrie Underwood’s Albany concert.  It begins at 11pm if any of you are interested in seeing this amazing band! Kyle Gass – New Featured Artist

We are proud to announce Kyle Gass (KG) of Tenacious D/Trainwreck as our new featured artist on our website at http://www.steveclayton.com/featuredartist.php! We have worked with KG for a very long time, supplying both himself and Jack Black with their custom picks on our Acetal Rounded Triangle .63mm. Kyle even signed autographs at our booth at the last NAMM trade show.  In addition to Tenacious D, Kyle has formed the band Trainwreck. KG describes Trainwreck as “a cornucopia of rock and a 5-headed hydra of pleasure”. Trainwreck is a eclectic mix of Southern Rock, Prog-Rock, Boogie, and straight-up Classic Rock and Roll, along with comedy banter and lyrics derived from the characters they’ve developed within the band. In late 2009 they released their debut album, “The Wreckoning”. It album contains 15 tracks of what they call “Wreck and Roll.” The band is fronted by biker-hayseed Darryl Donald (”Lee” of Tenacious D, or JR), and Kyle Gass (aka Klip Calhoun), and containing most of Tenacious D’s live/studio band (John Shredman, Boy Johnny, and Dallas St. Bernard). Trainwreck is currently on tour, so if you are in any of the following areas, make sure to go check out this unique band!

Hot Stamp Foil Picks

Clayton fans have you tried our new hot stamp foil picks?  Just below to the right you’ll notice I have shared some of the styles people have come up with recently. What makes the picks unique is the foil provides a shiny look that catches the eye. There are many colors to choose from for the picks. For the foil color options you may choose our popular silver, gold, red, or purple foil. The hot stamp foil picks are definitely a popular item because of the sleek looking material and bright foil. The hot stamp foil picks take generally 4-6 weeks to produce, but when finished you’ll see the amazing quality! If you would like to learn more about our custom picks give us a call at 877.752.9484

St. Patty’s Picks

Well, March is just around the corner and we have already started noticing the designs that are indicating the coming of St. Patrick’s Day. We already love the combination of green and black, so why not create some custom shamrock guitar picks to help celebrate the occasion? We offer green delrin picks in .8 mm gauge, which are already a popular choice for custom picks year-round. We also offer green colored pearl picks, in varying shades depending on your taste. Only black designs can be printed on these picks, so if you are looking to create a green design, we recommend white delrin or acetal picks. So visit our website at www.claytoncustom.com and try your luck at designing a St. Patty’s Day Pick!

Eric Church 2010 Tour Picks

Eric Church is one of our endorsed artists and we just wanted to let you know he is one of country’s hardest working artists. We could say working a little bit too hard after last fall.   While performing in New York, he was stomping so hard on stage that he hurt his ankle. He still finished the show and is ready to set the stage for his 2010 tour with our Clayton custom picks. Here are the picks you might get at one of his shows if you’re lucky. He’s already sold out for this Thursday’s show at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.  Church’s picks are the white pearl rounded triangle with the gauge at 1mm.  The white delrin 1mm standard pick is another choice for Church. He has a top 10 hit with his song “Love Your Love the Most,”
one of his songs on his new Carolina album. Another big hit on the album is “Hell On the Heart.” Eric is a rising star that we are excited to follow this year. We look forward to supporting Eric Church during his 2010 tour.

If you are an artist that is also interested in becoming endorsed by us, you may mail us information regarding record label, band picture, tour schedule, and type of Clayton picks you use. There is a full list of information you can find through our contact information on our Steve Clayton website. Any questions you have for us you may email to questions@steveclayton.com.
